We are a family owned business! 3 generations have been serving the local community since the 1960’s. John Peck Sr. started his HVAC business in a purpose built shop behind the house next to the barn which housed our cow, pony, horse and any other critter we could talk him into!

We pride ourselves in being a family business who you can feel good about referring family and friends too because you know they will be treated well and that honesty and integrity are keystones to our success. I’m writing another review for PECK given my most recent service experience. Previous to calling PECK I had an energy efficiency service completed through a local company (recommended by PG&E). Unfortunately, shortly after they completed the efficiency service I tried to run my A/​C and there were issues – my upstairs A/​C was no longer working. Unbeknownst to me the energy efficiency technician knocked a wire into my Damper Motor causing it to lock in an open position.
I called PECK during the peak of the season. Initially the technician (Mike C.) thought the (costly) Damper Motor had burned out and would have to be replaced. Instead of just replacing the motor, Mike appropriately re-​capped the wires & tested out the old motor. To my great relief Mike was able to save our Damper Motor.
I will not let anyone, but PECK, to access our A/​C unit again!

Could not ask for better. Our AC was not working and we called thinking it would be a few days until Peck’s would be able to come out. They had someone out the next day. The problem was identified. They were able to get the parts and fix our unit the next day. The price was phenomenal and we could not ask for better professionalism from their employees. After they left my wife was «dreading» the mess she was going to have to see in our closet (attic access). To her joy the closet was spotless.
Nice to see that“old-school” customer service and quality in services rendered are still out there. Thank you Peck Heating and Air Conditioning.

Recently my AC unit was tested by a well known Sacramento Heating and AC business. I was informed that my AC unit would required $ 3396.00 of repair. Whew!
My AC unit is a 2004 American Standard. I looked up American Standard on the internet and looked for «dealer in your area.» American Standard recommended Peck Heating and Air Conditioning. I called Peck and they had a technician at my house in 48 hours.
Oleg was the Peck technician who visited my house. He looked at my AC unit and was concerned about what had recently been done to my unit. He was suspicious that the leads had been reversed on a capacitor to make it appear that the unit was functioning poorly. He replaced the capacitor and had my AC unit running perfectly. Total cost was $ 142.00 for the new capacitor and $ 89.00 dollars for the service call. Total repair $ 237.00!
I am so pleased by the timely service from Peck. Next I am extremely pleased with the honesty and concern that Oleg expressed for my AC system and his concern in doing the right repair. Five stars and highly recommended!

This is a family owned and operated business, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience in working with them. Erick worked with us to spec out two separate projects and each time the crew doing the work was friendly, quick, and efficient in their work, and they delivered a quality finished product. The only reason I would ever go to another company for HVAC issues would be if it was an emergency and Peck wasn’t available. If you have any HVAC issues, call Peck – you’ll be glad you did.

We had them out for an estimate and they were actually able to find the problem and fix it… for free! It was a minor issue and they were happy to help. We will definitely be calling them for our AC needs in the future. They saved us at least $ 1500!

I recently had Peck Heating do an inspection and maintenance service on our heating system. I was very pleased with the outcome. I was especially pleased with technician Oleg who came to do the service. I liked his personality and motivation to get to work. There was a hum in the system that sounded like it was coming from the blower motor. Oleg homed in on the situation and found that a piece of tape in the shroud came loose and was dragging on the blower impellor. He fixed that in short order and reported that the system overall is in good shape. There was no overture to sell me a new motor. He represented the reputation of Peck Heating very well. I look forward to seeing him again when its time to service the AC system in readiness for the summer. I am pleased that I switched to Peck from another company for servicing our systems.

Of course problems happen when its the weekend and above 100 degrees :).
I heard through word of mouth that Peck was a great family owned business, so I emailed them through their website to set up an appointment for the next week. I didn’t think I would get a response until Monday, however, I received an email back the same day, saying that someone would be out Monday morning to look at it and give an estimate. The technician came out and determined it was a rusted out coil due to improper drainage in the initial installation (done by another HVAC contractor). Two days later they were at my house with two technicians installing the new evaporator coil. They were efficient, clean and friendly.
It has been almost six months without any issue. These guys are good!

Erick and his staff delivered a great customer service experience and educated us on our HVAC system. We asked them to service our commercial building they came out the next day right on time. Their service tech was friendly and a hard worker. This family owned business knows how to treat people right. We will call them to service our residential Hvac in the near future. Great company! Oleg fixed our air conditioning today. We had a 4 hour window, and then he called and told us he would be there in 15 minutes. He showed oh exactly when he said he would. He also fixed it fast and kept me updated on exactly what he was doing. He gave me a breakdown of what happened and what he fixed. He was very friendly and efficient. Will be recommending this company to all our friends! Thank you, Oleg!

You will not find a better HVAC contractor. John Peck stands behind his work even after his 10 year warranty expires. Peck Heating & Air Conditioning paid for the repairs and even upgraded my two system at no charge. The best of the best, they will always have my business and will get my highest recommendation!

I called for an estimate to replace a compressor or possibly replace an entire central air conditioner. They were responsive and called me back promptly. However, they did not schedule an appointment and their tech showed up in front of my house unannounced just as another hvac tech was leaving. Their tech did not bother to exit their vehicle or greet me so I went up to their truck and was told «the other guy has it covered» and he left without providing an estimate. I presume they believe that I should have hired the first contractor I called instead of getting at least a couple estimates for major work like this (probably $ 1400 – 1800 for compressor replacement and $ 4−5K for replacing the outdoor condensing unit).
Update: this company did follow up about this incident later that day and scheduled a tech to come out for an estimate on the next day (saturday). The tech who came was friendly, polite, and on-​time. Their estimate was in the middle of the estimates I obtained for compressor replacement. ($ 2352, range of 1700 – 2900) They offered 3 options based on rheem equipment for condenser/​evap coil replacement, but of those options, the highest efficiency was only 15SEER/12.5EER for a 3 ton unit and slightly lower for larger units. They were not familiar with the highest efficiency (20SEER/​16EER) equipment or inverter/​VFD variable capacity systems such as IQdrive or carrier greenspeed (25VNA).

Peck Heating & Air Conditioning was very responsive and professional when I called them for my broken down AC. They were able to get out quickly which was great. However, I wasn’t happy with the bill and how they handled it. The tech told me what the problem was, but never gave me a quote before he fixed it. He charged $ 289 to replace the capacitor. It took him about 15 minutes to do, and the part only cost about $ 20. I asked him why it was so expensive to replace and he told me it was a standard charge for that part. I called and emailed the company to try and get details and they never got back to me. I will never use Peck Heating & Air again!
I added another star. John Peck responded to my complaint and help resolve the issue. They do great work, but make sure you get a quote before they start the job.

Called Peck on a Saturday morning very unhappy that my A/​C was not working. Left a message and a tech called me right back with my options. I had them out on Monday morning. They arrived on time and very professional. They ordered the part to fix my unit and rushed the order for me. Couldn’t have asked for anything better from Peck. I will use them again for sure.

Had Peck out to our new home to install a new HVAC unit. They told us they would be here the next day and the workers showed up exactly when they said and went immediately to work. They removed the old units in very little time. Erick Peck showed up during the day to see how things were progressing as well. The new unit was installed and functional by 4pm the same day. All around great job! Every one was very professional and friendly, especially Betty Jean at the office! Highly recommend them to anyone needing HVAC work done! My wife, 4 month old baby, and I are very happy! We love Peck Heating and Air!

Been using Peck for going on 20 years years now. We are on the yearly maintainence program and they come out twice a year. Once in April for the air conditioner and once in October for the heater. We pay for three visits and the fourth one is free. We always insist on Matt as he is very professional and very knowledgable. Coming up on 15 years with the current system and we have no doubt we’ll have Peck do the work.

We have had PECK come out to service our Air Conditioning/​Heating twice a year every year since 1994! They have always been punctual, professional, and thorough.
Their prices are great as is their service. All of the staff have been wonderful over all these years. We highly recommend them!
