Ivan’s Flooring & Design

We got our house in November, and we are expecting our first child. We decided to change the floor (which it was tile) of the baby room to solid wood floor. Therefore, we did our research and we found Ivan’s flooring on Unilocal,he came to our house and see the room and gave us an estimate; We explained him what we were looking for and he gave us good options. Ivan and his team did an amazing job. They were on time and finish the room in less than five days. We can’t wait to do my whole house. We promise you that you are going to be more than happy if you choose his services. We will recommend him to all our friends. Here it is a picture of the room.

There’s a reason why you hire professionals like Ivan and his crew to do your floors, to make it look great! Floors are a huge expense so I was nervous which contractor to go with. However, Ivan was the first one out to give me an estimate and was practically a stalker on follow up (to me that’s a positive).
His pricing wasn’t even the cheapest and he even told me to get other estimates. He did everything that he said he would and on the timeline that we preferred. A+ and if I ever needed sanding, saying, repairing, installing, and refinishing I would go back to him in a heartbeat. Plus, his repairs were great since we definitely had some gaps where we had demoed.

I’m starting off with 3 stars — will update as this goes on. Good stuff first: Ivan personally showed up and did a fantastic job assessing our needs and writing down various requests from us. Almost nothing was a «no» from him… willing to engage in almost any requests from us… very versatile!
Understandably…he was over an hour late to give us an assessment due to traffic. However, it’s now almost 11 at night, and my wife and I don’t have an estimate yet to make a decision. We were promised a estimate by tonight. Like any new homeowners, we are under time constraints to get this done, so we’re on a timeline. I’m hoping tomorrow morning brings some news so we can make a decision… maybe I gave him the wrong email address???

I’ve provide my most recent project they worked on– 1908 original wood floors they refinished. They look brand new.

My dance floor… excuse me living room floor looks amazing, like brand new! It wasn’t in bad shape because water still beaded up on it but there were some stains and a lot of little holes from carpet being stapled onto it. I know… who carpets a wood floor, it’s not even laminate it’s real wood!
Ivan came over to take a look at the floor, did some measurements, and sent me a quote within the hour. Comparing his prices with others, his is among the most inexpensive. But don’t let that fool you, he and his brother do quality, professional work, and he stuck to the quote, no surprise costs.
Definitely would recommend him for future flooring projects!

I’ve hired Ivan for three jobs over the past couple years. One was a major installation of wood flooring and the other two were smaller jobs. All three times I was totally satisfied with the quality of the work and the fair prices he charged. Ivan seems like a very honest guy and furthermore is very responsive in returning phone calls. Ivan and his crew did an AMAZING job on my floors. He repaired water damage and laced in new wood to match the old wood and sanded and refinished my entire floors, including adding a darker, rich mahogany stain.
Ivan also created some custom wall moulding in my dining room and it feels like a completely different house! I am so impressed with his work. He and his crew were professional and hard-​working. I will add before and after photos shortly because the transformation is truly amazing! Ivan put me in touch with a painter who also exceeded my expectations, he was meticulous, reasonably priced and the results are stunning!

We hired Ivan to install Laminate Flooring in our master bedroom, master bath, master closet, hallway and our staircase. He also installed new baseboards throughout. He and his team were very professional and the end result looks FANTASTIC!
Being in the construction industry myself, I see a lot of this kind of work and Ivans attention to detail was exceptional. The guys showed up on time and worked through the project without delay. It is difficult to find contractors with their work ethic.

Ivan is, quite simply, the best. He and his team are true professionals at refinishing old floors and installing new ones. Ivan has a finish-​carpentry license as well. And that extra expertise shows in the final products. Lots of people can lay down a floor, but few have the craftsmanship that Ivan demonstrates.
Ivan and his crew recently completed approximately two to three weeks of work at my house. They refinished approximately 400 square feet of 1920’s hardwood flooring, then ripped out old laminate flooring in my dining room and tile in my entryway and staircase. Then they installed premium bamboo flooring in the dining room and entry (approx. 300 sq feet) and floated the bamboo flooring in my upstairs bedroom (200 sq ft). And Ivan himself constructed new stairs from scratch.
There were lots of components to this project, but Ivan handled each one with efficiency and artistry.
In several cases, Ivan went above and beyond what you’d expected from a flooring contractor. There was a very rough patch in my kitchen floor where I had taken out a wall. When we couldn’t find reclaimed floors that matched, Ivan found the same species of wood and created new floor planks FROM SCRATCH. The end result was better than I could have imagined. He also devised low-​cost solutions on some of the finishing details. Instead of buying the flooring manufacturer’s expensive trim moldings and thresholds, Ivan made these items from scratch also.
Ivan and his crew work hard. They set an aggressive schedule for completion but finished slightly ahead of it.
Pricing is upfront, honest, and reasonable. Ivan and I laid out the scope of work from the beginning, and the price discussed was exactly what I paid in the end. All of the ‘customized’ solutions that I mentioned before were not tacked on as extra charges at the end. Ivan had anticipated all of these and built them into his initial prices. This kind of honesty is refreshing.
