Horrible experience. I walk in and there’s one guy behind the counter and another guy by the front door chatting with his buddies. I wait to get helped and finally the other guy takes my order. He starts helping other customers while the other guy is busy talking to his buddies. Once«Fernando» realizes more customers are coming in he says bye to his friends then helps another customer before taking my payment. Keep in mind I was the first one in. These guys need a reality check and if they want to keep their jobs they should acknowledge the customers. I hope their manager reads this. Tell Fernando he needs to do his socializing out of his hot dog on a stick uniform and not while on the clock. Very unprofessional ! I should’ve gotten my food for free. Never coming back

We went in hoping to get a delicious lite lemonade and a hot dog on a bun. Of course, they ran out of both which really annoyed us so we left. The guy working the counter was by himself, and I’m sure didn’t have time to stock up on food. But still? Really? With such a limited menu you would think they would have this down. And the whole while the guy was handling money and constantly scratching his nose and never washed his hands. We then decided to go to the Hot Dog on a Stick in Plaza Bonita since I was on a mission to get some lemonade and a dog. Plaza Bonita was even worse(see my other review). I really am wondering if the employees are taught any safe food handling skills. So disappointing.

I go here only for the lemonade, which truly is AMAZING! One of these days I’ll try an actual hot dog on a stick as well as a side of fries, but for now the lemonade is off the hook!

Food is ok. It’s either a fried hot dog or on A bun. Not a fan, I make better ones at home. My biggest turn off is the service they look at you like … What do you want look. I realized a hot dog combo is $ 8.95!!! Seriously? Is the hot dog made of filet minion? Too expensive not cool. They should make this place more affordable. Next time I’m walking to cheesecake factory and spending my money there, too bad by son likes this place, I know I’ll have to come here again.

Fresh Lemonade is delicious. Stick with the corn dog. Hot dog on a bun just didn’t cut it. The bun was to dry and to big.

It’s a hot dog on a stick… so as the description of five stars above stipulates — it is indeed as good as it gets! To be clear… it is as good as a hot dog on a stick can get!!! If they were called Filet Mignon on a stick… I would have given them one star! I go once every couple months… random shopping or the Farmer’s Market. And Hot Dog on a Stick is very consistent and very fresh — yes, freshly fried… but fresh nonetheless. Again, this is a review for a hot dog on a stick… not for warm spinach salads!!! The girls here are always friendly, and quick, and seem to like working there — genuine smiles and overall pleasant. And the place is pretty clean… and one of the few surviving store fronts in a surprisingly new yet dying food court of the Otay Racnh Mall — that should tell you something. Anyway, red-white-blue hats off to you Hot Dog on a Stick… KEEPITUP!

Certainly not the cheapest place for a hot dog and lemonade, but what you get tastes pretty good. Although there are other restaurants nearby, there are only two in the Food Pavilion — which increase the chances of your eating here if you are already in the area(shopping?) and hungry. You can get a hot dog on a stick or a bun. They offer a veggie dog in case you don’t eat meat. The regular dog is made from turkey. If you are thirsty, you can get lemonade in almost any color(or flavor) you like. They have a variety of syrups to add. They also offer fries — but don’t make them well. As other reviewers have noted, the main drawback of this place, besides the prices, seems the underwhelming quality of service. It could be due to the silly-looking multicolored hats the employees are forced to wear, but is more likely that whoever hires them never explained where the money for their paycheck originates and that how much and often people buy is not only a factor of their appetite but how they are treated when they order. Would I eat here again? Maybe — but only if I wasn’t in the mood for what is offered next door(at the only other restaurant in the food pavilion).

Everyone knows about Hot Dog on a Stick. Their lemonade is awesome… especially their cherry lemonade. I don’t go here too often, but when I do it’s because of my kids. They love the cheese on a stick. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been having the«I hate my job» employees today. At this location, the female employee was just not friendly. I barely could hear her when she tried talking and when I asked for a small cup for my kids to share a large lemonade, she was rude about it. If I’m paying $ 18 just for 3 hot dogs and a large lemonade, I better get my small cup!

This place is a fave of my kids! Who can resist a freshly made corn dog? It may not be the fastest but its because they fry the corn dogs right in front of you. I think the fried cheese is even better but don’t tell my kids that. Top it off with a lemonade and you’ve got a perfectly mobile meal!

I walked in the other night knowing I wasn’t going to buy a hot dog on a stick because I don’t eat meat, especially hot dogs, but I still walked in. I felt like a five year old kid lured in by the bright colors and mirrors. We all know they have less than a handful of options from their menu but I never had noticed they sold cheese on a stick. I tried the slightly spicy Jack cheese with mild jalapeño pepper stick and it was AMAZING! After I got done eating it I wanted two or three more. That’s how good it is. It is a bit pricey for that little cheese stick but it was too good. I wish it was less expensive. They should have a combo meal deal where you can choose two cheese sticks and a regular lemonade for $ 5. That would be sick, right? Their lime lemonade is DELICIOUS! I’m sure it has about 60 grams of sugar but damn its worth it. I think the last time I had their lemonade was about ten years ago. I’m serious. Five stars for the lime lemonade and the spicy Jack cheese stick, nothing else.

You know this place… c’mon, you know you do. The food is the same. It hasn’t changed in years. Their corn dogs are still good. My son always gets a cheese on a stick and I’ve heard no complaints from him. The lemonade is the best. Could it be the tons of sugar that makes it so good? Perhaps. Could it be all the blood, sweat, and tears that the girls put into pounding the heck out of those poor, unsuspecting lemons? Probably. Who cares! It’s good. The frosted lemonade is perfect in the 100 degree weather. The service here is atrocious. Seriously, don’t hate me cause you hate your job! WTF Biatch! Put a freakin smile on, you unhappy hag! All I ask for is a simple hello and a smile… is that too much to ask for? Apparently!

Being around for 50+ years, this lemonade is squeezed just right. One of Hot Dog on a Stick’s best menu items is their lemonade. Packed full of sugary goodness, you will want the largest size possible. You can get a half-gallon for $ 7 bucks or two for $ 11. I’ve been drinking this stuff since I was a kid. And not one time have I been let down by the drink. I’m partial to the original lemon flavor. But the other cherry and lime flavors are worth a shot.(I didn’t know this until today, but there is a Sugar-free option) So today I decided to actually eat their food. I wasn’t really expecting much from a place that forces their employees to wear those silly ass-hats. And I’m glad for my foresight. I tried the Hot Dog in a Bun and the Fries. They were not worth the $ 5.93 at all. The Fries were tasteless yet soaked as they are cooked with vegetable oil. The dog tasted like smoked beef jerky on a somewhat toasted bun. My first thought was upon being served this measly roll of quarters was«Wait…I paid $ 3.25 for this hot dog alone? I should’ve went to Costco…» The service was barely at par. Two girls working a sunday afternoon. I was served my order after the couple behind me. But after witnessing the fat-ass crab on her cell ordering in front of me, I felt pretty bad for the employees. I’ll definitely drink the lemonade. But the food is a pass.
