Studio Within Salon and Spa

My experience was okay…
I had bought a Groupon for a massage and mini facial. My massage was great! (and I’m kicking myself for not remembering the massage therapist’s name to pass on).
The mini-​facial was wishy washy — it wasn’t amazing and I didn’t really see a difference post-​facial, which was disappointing. But it was a mini-​facial so my expectations weren’t really high.
There were two main reasons why I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon:
1) it seemed like everyone except for the massage therapist was trying to push me to buy packages. I’m a big advocate of people’s work talking for itself. The lady who had given me the mini-​facial was very sweet and nice, but kept pushing me to buy a full facial, which I didn’t particularly appreciate. Similarly, the receptionist kept doing the same thing for future appointments. While I appreciate that Groupon lets you try different facilities at discounted prices, I don’t love being pushed to buy additional services just because I tried the Groupon deal…
2) The massage bed felt like it was going to fall apart under me! I’m not a huge person but it kept squeaking and shifting back and forth during my massage… Kind of threw the ambiance factor way off :/

I was a little disappointed with this salon. My experience was not horrible but it was just strange. My husband got me a gilt city for a mini spa day for one of my Christmas presents and I was beyond excited to use it.
They called me morning of because they needed to reschedule my mini spa day (the masseuse I was scheduled with was sick). Which is totally fine. That happens. So instead of having my day start at 10:30 we did it at 1. But the girl who called me wasn’t apologetic at all and when I asked to schedule my blow out then (since you have to call the day of to schedule your blowout based on availability) she seemed annoyed that I wanted my blowout. So I started off my experience on a weird vibe.
The facial was great. The girl who did it was very sweet and friendly. It was very relaxing.
For the massage I paid to have an additional 30 minutes (to get a 60 minute Swedish). The masseuse was nice enough but the room was freezing. The massage itself was nice. But then it ended and she hadn’t rubbed my feet. I feel so weird complaining about that. But with all other Swedish massages I’ve had I’ve had my feet rubbed. So again, nothing awful but just a weird situation.
I was then walked to the front and the masseuse told me the receptionist would close me out like my day was over. I went to the receptionist and she was very nice and seemed to know I was getting a blow out. So that was nice. But I had felt ushered out by the masseuse. I figured at this point they would bring me my glass of champagne but that never happened. I feel kind of like an ass for saying this but I think this was the most disappointing part for me. I love having a glass of bubbly while I’m getting pampered and since it was paid for I’m pretty disappointed I never got it.
All in all this wasn’t an awful experience by any means. I think I just felt rushed and uncomfortable through some of it and the experience left me feeling awkward. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Not only does Studio Within give amazing massages, they are a wonderful participant of the community. For years now, they have been strong supporters of local philanthropic organizations by donating their wonderful services. Keep up the great work!

Had a facial from Jaclyn and it was great. Decided to sign up for their membership, save some cash. The facial was relaxing and refreshing, the massage was a great bonus.

What we (F.A.M.E Foundations of artists Mentored in Entertainment) love about Studio Within, is their generosity. They have supported our organization for a couple years and we appreciate their support. They are extremely professional and do an amazing job.

I purchased a Groupon for an organic airbrush tan this morning and was able to get an appointment for later today.
I’m very pleased with my experience. Stripping down in front of someone can be awkward but I felt totally comfortable the entire time. Kristy did such a wonderful job that I purchased another airbrush before I left the salon.

Came here with a groupon deal about 3 weeks ago. Definitely going back. Have been to red door, kohler, and a couple others downtown, but I’d probably come back here first due to a non-​pretentious atmosphere.
Had a 90 minute massage with Jessica who I swear had 8 hands– I may have snoozed on the table I was so relaxed. Then I had a deluxe facial (feel bad, forget her babe) which was a bit more treatment focused than I generally prefer (I’m all about the massage aspect) but definitely left feeling hydrated and extremely relaxed!
The salon and spa are both an adorable interior, though the spiral staircase down to the treatment rooms might not fare well for some. If you are looking for a cute, relaxed spa experience, check out Studio Within!

Very hipster looking. I would totally redo the waiting area. It’s so awkward. Things are far from your reach and you’re not sure where you can sit.
I used my groupon for a 60 min massage and 30 minute facial. I enjoyed both, but my boyfriend did not. It felt like they just applied cream on his body. I don’t need forceful touches, but he does.
I also got my eyebrows waxed, $ 25, yet I still walked out with residue on my face.
It was a fun experience. We had a good date.

I visit this spa a few times a year and always have a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I love to take a random day off of work sleep in and book a massage and facial here. It’s a great neighborhood spot that does not disappoint.
The décor is eclectic warm and vintage. I love the old salon chairs as seating in the waiting area. I’ve always been greeted warmly and asked if I’d like water.
Many of the services are provided in the basement and the space is a little tighter although it’s never bothered me. I’ve always been guided through the space by the pleasant staff.
Massages, facials, and the occasional brow wax — always done with finesse and accommodating to my preferences (music, pressure, scents, steam, etc). I usually just book with whomever is available but I’ve had Jessica twice for a massage and she’s AWESOME.
I only wish their groupons were available to returning customers although they do offer good deals if you pre-​buy which I’m kicking myself for not taking advantage of last time I was in.

This place is super cute and my hair looks great! I have been on the search for a new stylist and I think I found it with Ivan, he is amazing.
First, I don’t know what others are talking about in some of their reviews. it was pretty easy to make an appointment and they were super nice when I called the day before asking if they had anything open early that day and they had no problem accommodating me and making the switch.
When I arrived they were quick to offer water and tea and all the stylists have a cute little room that you go in. I normally am not a talker while getting hair done and try to just look busy with my phone, a magazine, whatever but Ivan was amazing, I like literally could not get enough of talking to him. He listened to everything I wanted about my hair and did an amazing job. I also loved that he listened to what I wanted and didn’t tell me I should get something else or it wouldn’t look good or whatever, he offered suggestions but wasn’t pushy at all. He was also fast — I got a full highlight, deep conditioning treatment, haircut and an amazing style and was out in about 2 hours and 15 minutes. I’ve had highlighting nightmares where I literally have been in the chair for 5 plus hours so I was almost skeptical but no need to be at all, however if this appointment had gone longer I wouldn’t have minded in the slightest because I was loving talking to Ivan that much (again, he is amazing)!!
My hair is naturally a sandy blonde and he did an amazing mix of lowlights and highlights that looks great, so much brighter and matches with my coloring better. My hair also looks healthy and doesn’t look damaged and he was patient enough to explain to me how he was doing my hair so I could repeat it at home (I haven’t gotten as good as him yet, but I’m practicing). I have gotten tons of compliments on my color from a lot of people, probably more than any other time I’ve gotten my hair done.
Overall it was a great experience, and I will definitely back and would highly recommend. As a bonus, they also didn’t push products on my at all (seriously, thank you because I have a bathroom overflowing with products, I need nothing more) or put any pressure to come back or schedule another appointment, but they did give me a coupon for my next visit, so yay! Final perk — you can tip on a credit card, who honestly carries enough cash to tip in cash?

As many times as I’ve walked past this salon, I never had a reason to go there until my esthetician Jackie started working here. I’ve been going to her for all my waxing and facials for the last few years at her last salon (which was ridiculously far away from where I live) and could not be happier now that she’s so close!
Her facials are so relaxing and my skin always looks amazing afterward. It honestly looks like it’s glowing! Haha. And while I have zero pain tolerance, I let her wax my eyebrows as well. She’s very gentle and makes sure to do a fast and good job so that I don’t complain too much.
I’m also not a girly girl by any means, but I let her put lash extensions on me as a sort of experiment… anything to not have to put makeup on myself every morning… and now I’m addicted. They look great and I hardly know they’re on me. No one even realizes my eyelashes are fake!
Anyway, Jackie is the best. After visiting the salon just a few times now just to see her, I plan on booking appointments for some of the other services the salon has to offer.

I have been going to Studio within Salon and Spa for quite some time now and my experience always gets better and better. Can’t ever go wrong with a monthly massage and their massage membership is amazing! If you haven’t visited them yet, you definitely should!

Studio Within is a great facility; it is clean and staffed with highly skilled professionals. Not only that, but they have a high end product line and were able to accommodate my scheduling needs.

My favorite place! They give the most amazing, reasonably priced facials I’ve ever had in the city. Couldn’t help but join the monthly facial club. The staff is so nice, the space always smells good, and I always leave feeling extremely relaxed. Also, my face has never been clearer!

I used to go to Studio Within for massages but haven’t been back in awhile. I visited Andrea for a corrective color for the first time today and she is a lifesaver! I had gone to another salon a couple days ago for highlights, and the highlights turned out way too light, streaky, and not right for my skin tone.
Andrea calmed my nerves by telling me that it would be an easy fix, and she took the time to tell me what she would do to correct it and what colors would work best with my hair and skin tone. She added in a dark brown and used toner on some original highlights to create a perfectly blended color that I absolutely LOVE. I also appreciated her recommendations on the best shampoo/​conditioner to use for my hair and her thoughts on other great hair products.
I will definitely be back to see Andrea in the future! Yay!

I got two 90-​minute massages on Groupon, one for me and one for my boyfriend. I had Rose and he had Juan. We were in separate rooms, but at the end of it both he and I thought it was an «ok» massage. Nothing amazing, nothing terrible, but just ‘fine.’
First of all, I was in a massage room that had a wobbly & loud bed. Every time I shifted, the bed made a noise. So. nothing kills your zen like a loud friction sound.
Rose spent about 60 minutes on my upper back. I didn’t even request that as a focus area, so it was bizarre that she spent so long there. She barely even touched my lower back, and she gave very little attention to my legs, arms, hands or feet. She didn’t target any specific muscle groups (except in my upper back) so the whole massage left me pretty uneven.
I’ve had some pretty stellar massages and I can tell you, this wasn’t one of them.

I love this place. The staff is always wonderful and they know what they are doing.
Kristy cut my hair and she did such an amazing job taming my crazy curls. She told me about the Devacurl line and how it is designed to help my coarse curly hair. I bought it and it was the best thing I’ve ever done for my hair. I’m hooked.
I will definitely be back!
