History

Established in 2009.

First of its kind restaurant which caters to the neighborhood walk-ins who buy the famous Chicago’s Pizza ready anytime by the slice. Chi-Pie operates a huge catering and delivery business; delivering to Cubs fans, local businesses and the neighborhood night life until 5am every day of the week.

Chi-Pie’s menu is a condensed version of restaurant favorites, including their most popular sandwiches, burgers, pasta and salads, and, of course its award wining Chicago’s Pizza. Also, the restaurant offers a freezer full of their famous Chicago style stuffed pizzas frozen and ready to take home for those traveling to take a piece of Chicago back with them and share with friends and family.

Chi-Pie Pizza’s storefront is smaller with limited seating for 12, designed purposely for the quick pickup and delivery. Authentic Chicago architecture with high ceilings and original brick decorates the interior, well lit glass windows and the oval logo neon sign faces Clark Street.

This place will be missed in my hood! Whenever I had a little too much fun (and didn’t feel like Mexican) I would end my night of debauchery here… or have them delivery to my apartment. The good thing about this place? They have an extensive menu so even when I couldn’t for the life of me decide what to eat, the kind folks here had my back. Sometimes the service isn’t with a smile but hey, I wouldn’t be smiling after dealing with drunk folks all night long either. Another neighborhood standby bites the dust.

Chicago’s Pizza is getting two stars from us. We have ordered from this location several times and have been for the most part satisfied. The pizza is good, there’s no denying that but we’ve had two orders go horribly wrong.
1^st problem. We ordered pizza and calamari for a group of 4+. The fried calamari made all of us feel very queasy and a couple of us vomited the undercooked/spoiled calamari. We vowed never to order fish from a late night pizza place again.
2^nd problem. We ordered a bunch of food last Saturday night, over 50 dollars worth, which included two sausage pizzas. The delivery driver was an Asian man that I assume was new or didn’t have any previous delivery experience. He could not decipher which pizza was mine. He let himself in the apartment and closed the door, then preceded to ask me to open the 3 pizza boxes he had (2 of them were mine, a small & large sausage pizza) and figure out which pizzas I ordered. He left in a hurry and you would think that would be the end of the pizza situation.
He came back in a huff 15 minutes later and started ringing my door bell frantically until I made it to the door. He was demanding that I owe him 2 XL pizzas! After repeatedly telling him we didn’t have them he refused to leave. I closed the door and called the restaurant while he continued to knock and ring my door bell

Yes, I admit, I came here when I was inebriated. Of course, many people would probably come here since this place is open until 5am. I ordered the standard affair, a slice of pepperoni pizza. So, the slice that I had, all the pepperoni was underneath the cheese, except one so one can tell that the slice is pepperoni. Well, the pizza did curb a hangover, but I thought the pizza was okay.

Bah. No.
If you enjoy stale crust, rubbery cheese that comes off once it cools, and tomato sauce that tastes like acid than this is your spot!
I HAD to give it 2 stars because the people that work there are incredibly nice but this pizza does not do the city of Chicago proud!

You know how cold pizza the morning after always tastes better? Seriously, this pizza is 100x better the morning after. Which isn’t so much a testament to the glory of cold pizza but to the mediocrity of the pizza in the first place.
Granted, I’m not a deep dish gal, so I’ve only had thin crust here. And for thin crust, there is an awful lot of doughy crust still. I love a good crust, but I found myself (horror of horrors) actually tossing the crusts here because they were just so… blah.
Decent pricing, and bonus points for insane late night hours and prompt delivery. But with all the stellar pizza options in Chicago, I’m not sure this would be at the top of my list.

I stopped here for an avocado burger with friends after hitting up Fatties around the corner one night. There were plenty of chefs on the crew, even though was in the wee hours of the morning. They cooked the burger well-done as requested and served it promptly.
This place doesn’t have much in the way of atmosphere, as it is just basically a long hallway that happens to serve food. I haven’t tried the pizza here, but the burger was tasty and you can’t beat the long hours that they are open. If you need a late-night snack, you could do worse than Chicago’s!

This is a great place to just walk in and grab a slice, especially late-night. The thin crust & stuffed slices are both enjoyable, and the red pepper they have is always very fresh and hot.
Always a pleasant experience here, even when the drunk douchebags stroll in.

This place is best described in the words of Billy Madison. «Here’s a nice piece of shit!»
This place is so gross, that I wouldn’t eat it if I were Elian Gonzalez taking my first steps out of the tire onto US soil stricken with malnourishment. I actually think that if you were on the brink of death and decided to eat this, you’d die. That’s how god awful this food is.
I’m not even going to talk about thin crust, because my sole motivator is their deep dish. I ordered a large pepperoni deep dish. It smelled good, it tasted halfway decent, but as soon as I finished it, I actually became ill. I threw up, and I was sober. That’s a statement. I dunno what they put in their pizza, but it’s probably comparable to the carcinogens that go into your average cigarette.
DONT EVER EAT HERE. DISGUSTING.

I’ve had Chicago’s Pizza twice:
1^st time– Delivered to my apartment, and had the Prosciutto and Goat Cheese pizza. It was okay, but disappointing, considering how much I enjoy those ingredients.
2^nd time– I had been drinking at Kirkwood, and not many places were open. It was late February, and EVERY TIME someone opened the door, a giant breeze covered the whole place, causing everyone AND their pizza to be ice cold.
I can’t even deny I will probably eat here again sometime when drunk, but preferably NOT in the winter.

Chicago’s Pizza is probably some of the worst pizza in the city of Chicago, but if you’re ordering from here before 3am and before consuming many many many cocktails, then you’ve got bigger problems.

I love this place. I could detail the embarassing accounts I’ve had here but will leave those out. It’s a great place to go for a slice of pizza anytime, but especially after a night out. Cheese is $ 3.05 and others are $ 3.25. They offer thin cheese, sausage, and pepperoni, and deep dish as well. I prefer thin. The slices are pretty big and always ready. If you want to order something else from their menu, you’ll have to wait 20 minutes at least.
This place should get 5 stars simply because they put up with people stumbling in until 5 am, but I have to give it 4 for the condiments. I have ruined several slices by accidentally dumping garlic powder on them. It looks like parmesan and has a huge pour spot. Same with the red pepper flakes. So watch out! If you ask for parmesan at the counter they will give it to you.

3 stars for the food, 1 star for coming through in a clutch situation. Im sure im not the only one in this great city who has found themselves in a squinty eyed, partially functioning daze of smoke, laughter and extreme hunger around 12, 1 in the morning. Lucky for me, there are great pizza places that cater to just this type of situation and it is called Chicago’s Pizza.
I got, literally, the best deal a smoker could get through
in that I ordered an Italian sausage sandwich, which was delicious but still had that «made at 1am» taste, and i got a chicken parm grinder FOR FREE and i entered the promo code BLUE10 and got 10% off my order!!! Can you say «munchy time»? I personally can’t this morning because of my common bad decision to eat tons of Italian food after midnight (when we let it all hang out) and the present heartburn is enough to make the Godfather beg for the end, but this was easily the best late night delivery experience I have ever had with italian food.
As a couple of my friends know, i was born in NYC and spent 13 years of my life in Stamford CT, an Italian American mecca of the east coast, and even though i look like a little ginger mick, I know what good Italian food is supposed to taste like and everything was as it should have been. The sausage tasted delicious and was cushioned by a bed of slightly soggy peppers and onions and topped with marinara, delicious, especially in the wee hours of morning. My free sandwich tasted that much better as it cost me nothing and tasted as fresh as if it had been made minutes ago.
I could have paid for the second sandwich and not broken a 20 but it was free… so i got a pop and barely broke a 10 because of that BLUE10 promo code on
. From one red eyed munchy haver to another, use the website, it really made the delivery experience and food that much more worth my while. Don’t break the bank, just order online

Dude and dudettes… I had a much needed buzz going on after watching the Blackhawks lose Game 3 in the cup. Starving and thinking of places to go while I was licking my lips and rubbing my tummy waiting for a taxi that seemed to be extinct. After a 15min pissed off wait, my hunger pain was at a maximum now. At the intersection I could see their sign glowing at me stating open till 5am. Eat now, cab later was the only thing in my mind.
Order pizza at a pizza joint!!! Too cliché for me, I guess… lol Looked at thier sandwiches and I was sold. A grilled eggplant and chicken sandwich on foccacia bread w/fresh basil. For some reason I think our ticket was lost or something but the food took forever, when it was supposed to be a 10min wait. The manager came over, apologized, and gave us a discount on the bill. Which was great customer service in my eyes. And the sandwich was waaaaay worth the wait! All the flavors together rocked my mouth in every single bite. I would highly recommend trying any sandwich on the foccacia! The bread rocked. Also the kettle chips come w/it, in cheddar flavor were sooo addicting! Good food and service for late night cravings!

How can I be so drunk, and fresh, hot pizza taste so bad? Unbelievable.
The «thin crust» had almost no sauce and the cheese was unacceptable. The «deep dish» tasted like it was made with Ragu. Hello, heartburn.
The first time I went here it was semi-enjoyable, so I’ll give it a star for that and the fact it’s open ’till 5.

I was initially skeptical of this place when I first tried it mostly because their tv commercials are almost as cheesy as their pizza.
I have had good and bad experiences here and honestly out of all the pizza chains in Chicago, this one might be my favorite. I’ve noticed it really depends on when you order and which store you choose. I’ve found this one to always be the best. They offer a much more extensive menu than most pizza joints in Chicago. Their Stuffed crust better than Ginos east and Giordanos yeah yeah say what you want It’s true! not to mention their thin crust cheese is the best I’ve found in the city.
They recently changed their name to Chi-Pie how cute is that seriously?

There seems to be a lack of consensus in the reviews here, but as far as I’m concerned, this is the best deep dish pizza in the world, not to mention Chicago. I mean, yeah, I know I haven’t sampled every deep dish in the city, but I keep searching for better and I haven’t found it.
And oh baby, it’s even better reheated on day 2. It’s probably also good cold, but I don’t roll that way.
I often find a hankering hitting my belly without warning — but then I realize that I live 150 miles away, and I get very angry.

I pity you if this is your only deep dish experience. There are many higher-profile restaurants in the city, and for good reason. The sauce was a bit light, the crust was uninteresting, and the only saving grace of a topping was roast beef (which, I’ll admit, is adds a good amount of flavor to the pizza).
And did I mention we paid about $ 30 for a large, 3-topping deep dish! Ugh… oh wait, that’s because we had it delivered. At 3:15am.
Well, really we ordered at 2am… expect about a 75 minute wait. But split among 4 people, $ 30 isn’t too bad. And hell, you’d have trouble finding anywhere that’d deliver until 5am. If you’re out late and can plan your night well enough that you’re not writhing around in drunk hunger pains for an hour, give it a shot.

Last night the hubby and I attended a friend’s 30^th bday bash. His condo is conveniently located right across the street from Chicago’s Pizza, which I’m sure has come in handy many times when he’s been out late. We were drinking on my friend’s balcony staring right at the Chicago’s Pizza sign when hubby declared he was leaving for just a bit to get a slice of pizza. And since I was getting pretty tipsy myself (sadly after only 1 ½ drinks) I thought a slice of pizza was a brilliant idea.
It had been awhile since making my presence at any late night pizza joints and this was apparent after we walked in because I asked my husband to grab me a menu. He said, «um, this isn’t an order off the menu type of place… just ask them what kind of pizzas they have.» And so I did… specifying I’d like thin crust. My choices: cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. Pepperoni please!
While hubby really seemed to enjoy his slice of pepperoni I found mine to be pretty mediocre. There was too much cheese hiding my pepperoni and the crust could be a bit crispier. Of course this didn’t keep me from devouring it… I’m not one to let a slice of pizza go to waste. While I would maybe consider eating here again if in the area looking for a late night snack there are many other places to get a better slice of pizza in town. It may be called Chicago’s Pizza, but certainly not Chicago’s finest pizza.

Dude, I so wanted my very first sandwich from Panes. However, they do not take plastic, and I’m sorry if my bill is over $ 15 (I was hungry!) then you should take a credit card. Put out some random minimum ($ 15, maybe?), I’ll frickin’ meet it… just take cards for the love of God, you are not some street vendor cart. Man up.
Ok, sorry about that… my hunger pangs make me ANGRY.
So, you know what? I went and spent my hard-earned $ 15 via plastic at Chicago Pizza. It’s directly next door. I got a slice of thin crust cheese pizza that was hot and cheesy to the max, and a side salad and Diet Coke. For $ 10. I tipped them $ 5 just to prove my damn point!
A decent stop for a quick lunch. I’ve also had delivery and found it to be quite good, though I’m not much of a deep disher.
Cheese curbs my angry stomach! :)

For the love of god, why!
Ok, as most of you will comprehend — I ordered this as I was hungover like a biatch. Ahghhgh horrid
And in so much as it was laden with cheese and oil and grease — it did the trick…
But… Not so good. Ya dig? First of all, why do ppl cut pizzas in squares instead of slices? This makes no sense. Secondly, the marinara sauce had a strange twang to it. Not as bad as my NY Two Boots review (what could be?) but still…
Now I realize you are all drunk when eating from here, and those of you who are not suggest the Art of Pizza… well, if the next (hopefully very distant) time I am wasted again and hungover and horrid, I shall order from THERE.
This place just happened to be across the street.
