Reno

Went in for an early dinner after an afternoon movie at Logan Theater on a cold evening. It was delightful. Love the hip vibe, service was friendly and prompt and food was delicious! Had the buratta as an appetizer, the quinoa salad and the potoato and chorizo gnocci. I split everything with my friend and it was plenty of food. I will definitely be back to try the pizza!

Cash only at the coffee bar! But they have an atm machine in the restaurant if you want to pay the fees.
They serve stumptown, which is not my favorite brand but is an overall good coffee roaster. Got a scone which was good. They have wifi too and serve food.
A small coffee, large coffee and a scone came out to be about $ 9.
Street parking is available.

TOTALLY A HIPSTER SPOT! But why else would you be in Logan Square if not for the fun/​chill vibe :)
I avoided this corner location because the lonely R letter sign didn’t give me a indication of what I could expect. Here I was on the 26^th, Saturday after Christmas and to my surprise they were open and busy! This was a good sign for me to give them a try.
I sat at the bar and the service was prompt and friendly. From my other Unilocalers I saw their version of Lox & Bagels so I showed the photo to the server where he promptly returned with my coffee and OFF-​THE-​HOOK Breakfast Sandwich. The ingredients were VERY FRESH & TASTEE! The sandwich was messy so take a proactive step and ask for an extra napkin, especially if u don’t like cream cheese in your beard ;)
I expected their wood fired bagels to taste a little smokey but to the contrary it wasn’t. Just a very crisp, clean & chewy taste (that I enjoyed). I’d definitely come back but I think I may want to try their pizza next time.

So I’m giving this spot 4 stars because it has started my new joy for Mezcal! We stopped in late after the kitchen closed, just to check it out and have a few drinks. When curiosity got the best of me, the bartender (forgot the name, my apologies!) described what Mezcal was like, smokey Tequila and not being a fan of tequila I had to give it a try and it was great! Definitely coming back for food and more Mezcal since I’ve noticed all bars don’t carry it.

Came here for a late night snack on Saturday! The pizza was delicious and not heavy, just the way I like it. I had «Jorge» pizza with prosciutto, asparagus and sunny side up egg! It was very good. The drinks were really reasonable too. I had a glass of wine for 6 dollars and it was actually really good wine. The décor is very nice and the service was fast and friendly.

With plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, carnoivores might wander past Reno on Unilocal with a cynical eye. Don’t, this place is great! The fresh pasta had a quality that just has to be tasted to appreciate.
I wandered in, wanting to grab a quick bite inbetween errands. I heard they did $ 5 pasta bowls on Wednesdays… but I didn’t know they also had $ 5 wine (had the malbec, loved it). The pasta bowl for the day had carrots, potato, garlic, onion and kale. Aside from the kale part — the balance of the dish was excellent. The pasta really shines through.
My server Daniel was kind, warm and very helpful, but they could have probably used another server on the floor when the dinner rush hit. I just moved into the neighborhood and this is bound to become a pizza and wine night kind of place.

I’ve eaten at Reno on three different occasions — once for brunch, once for lunch, and once for dinner. I left pleased on all three occasions.
Of my three visits, the lunch stop made the biggest impression on me. I ordered The Master Blaster, a large sandwich featuring pork carnitas, onions, provolone, and pickles on ciabatta. The ingredients were relatively simple, and it filled me up without making me feel stuffed. Essentially, it was exactly what I want from a sandwich.
If you’re visiting for dinner, I recommend getting one or two of their pizzas (they’re great for splitting with friends). Cooked in a woodfire oven, the crust is nicely charred on the outside but still chewy on the inside. And they have a good range of topping choices too, so vegetarians and carnivores alike will be mollified.
Reno’s alcohol selection is pretty good too. They offer some house cocktails (I recommend the Mezcal Paloma), and a variety of bottled/​canned beers, as well as a few wine options.
Reno offers a solid menu of affordable breakfast, lunch, and dinner fare. I don’t know that it’s worth a special trip to Logan Square, but if you’re in the area and looking for a good meal at a reasonable price, you should definitely check it out.

Two friends and I came here with empty stomachs on a weekend night when the weather was warm so we got to enjoy the outside air on Reno’s patio. Reno is right across from Logan square blue line stop so it’s extremely accessible for people who don’t live close enough to walk. The patio is small and facing the intersection of Kedzie and Milwaukee but if you live in Chicago the sound of the cars can go by hardly noticed.
We split the Cavetelli dish which was a large portion of pasta with truffle oil, gouda, cream and bagel crumbs for only $ 10 and the butternut pizza with butternut squash, gouda, sage brown butter and sunflower seeds for $ 13. Split between three people, we all had plenty of food and the bill was extremely cheap. The pasta was very rich so I wouldn’t recommend getting that dish all to yourself or you might be hitting yourself later but regardless, it was delicious. The pizza was great as well. I’m a big crust critic and I’d give this crust a ⁷⁄₁₀. The toppings were unique and I’m glad I tried it. Our waitress, I regretfully don’t know her name, was A+ and very patient with our lack of decision making. She was funny and personable and always seemed to be around right when we needed her.
I’m actually here as we speak as we’ve been working on homework on the patio for a few hours. Enjoying the last bit of warmth before having to be stuck inside for five months. We each ordered a cappuccino and it is a very work-​friendly environment. I feel a lot of distraction and strange vibes in coffee shops that makes my work performance not A+ and am very pleased with the atmosphere of Reno. Our waiter, George, has been extremely friendly and accepting of us being at one of his outside tables for over three hours, only ordering a cappuccino. He’s refilled our water pitcher and checks up on us to see if we need anything else.
Whether it’s coming to Reno to work on homework or coming to a night event with cheap beer and great pizza, count me in. This place is great all around.

Excellent and affordable pizza with pleasant staff and good service. Decent beer selection, but small and no taps.
They’re fast, but cash only. Tuesdays are the best day to take a friend or date– 2 pizzas for $ 20 and some $ 2 drink specials.
It’s an awesome choice and they’re located directly across the street from the north Kedzie exit of the blue line.
They also have a great à la carte brunch menu that is much different than what you’ll find at Lula or Longman & Eagle, but much more affordable, simple, and without the long lines.
They tend to close around 10pm though, so don’t plan on late night pizza from them.

First things first, Ca$h only! Very important to know… But from there…
We had some delicious pizzas here! Who would have thought the brats, cheese curds, and sauerkraut belonged together on a pizza?! I don’t even like sauerkraut and it was amazing. We also ordered the pizza that was essentially a variation on Hawaiian pizza, adding red onion and jalapeños… VERY spicy but a fun variation! The food was great, our waiter was super kind and attentive, easily a 5 star experience for me.

Seems like this locations changes hands quite often. Thought we’d try this version, and weren’t disappointed; but we won’t be hurrying back either. Went on a Wednesday at 8pm and it was packed and loud. We had to sit at long bench table across from each other. The next couple had to set next to us across from each other. It would of been better if we would have sat next to each other, at least we could have heard talked without yelling. I ordered the Reno pizza with pepperoni, and it was good; but I know of a dozen places that are better for the same price.
She got the Gnocchi, and really enjoyed it. But it came out 10 minutes after my pizza.
The staff was friendly and competent, no complaints there.
If you’re looking for a cramped place with a younger crowd, you can’t go wrong here.

Seriously, I’m not hard to please, especially when I’m going on a vacation with an open-​mind. Longman & Eagle down the road had a 1.5hr wait, so the date and I decided to walk down the street and find something else. This place had a cute little outdoor patio, so we decided to see if we could sit outside and eat, and just our luck they had one seating left outdoors. I think that’s a good sign that it’s meant to be! …And, I was right!
I forgot exactly what the mister order. He got some sandwich dealio and it came with a bag of chips. His sandwich was massive for the price, so he took half it back to our rental to eat later. He got a mimosa with his food and it was good. I got the Egg BLT breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. It didn’t come with any sides and it was on a greasy English muffin but whatever! The bacon in the BLT was cooked perfectly. It paired nicely with my Russian mule.
I would come here again to sit, eat, and people watch. There’s a nice looking church kitty-​corner from the building and a lot of people walking around, and a lot of street parking available.

I do like this place, but I don’t think it’s anything overly special. The location is great, right there on the Square and they have a lot of outdoor seating so you can bring your pooch (I’m all about the dog friendly restaurants).
The Quinoa Salad is one of my favorites. It’s really light and refreshing, especially on a summer afternoon. I’ve had their Breakfast Pizza and the Squirrel Pizza, which were both decent, but nothing to write home about.
It’s cash only which can be a pain. Service is hit or miss. I’ve sat for 20 minutes before, only to have to go inside and get my bill myself.

One of my Logan Square resident cousins is a vegetarian so she is all about Reno. Reno is a great option for us when we meet up because not only do they have a plethora of veg options she can get into but they also cover a meat lover like myself.
Reno is great for a low key breakfast of bagel & a schmear for under 4 bucks. Delicious breakfast sandwiches packed full of ingredients, albeit the cowboy killer is a bit spicy for my weak buds. My cuz is all about their pizzas & salads and I concur they’re nothing to frown upon.
Everything is so fresh and yummy with pretty stellar service — a lot of indoor seating plus a nice little patio right in the hub of Logan Square. Prices, along with beer prices, are digestible.
Wednesdays they not only have karaōke at 9pm but also $ 5 pastas and $ 5 wine glasses. This may be my Reno money night.
Love their tunes. If I catch some Mr. Big, I’m a happy chick.

Plus, an expansive bar, a friendly, cute bartender and the MASTER BLASTER. A delicious pork sandwich that is large enough to two to share. And BORSCHT! This was the meaty variety of Borscht, vs. the all-​beet variety, but it was still very good.
Add a Saturday with no obligations, and this place is just the ticket. Great bar, delicious food, coooolllddd beer and cocktails.

Had a lunch meeting at Reno! Loved the vibe here! Part café, coffee shop, part pizza, salad, soup, and sandwich joint!
They had me right away with their huge Frank Zappa poster above the kitchen!
Good deal of vegan options, including a beat soup!
The coffee was great, the food was cool, and the service was shall we say grand!
I really want to go back and try a pizza cause dang that looked good on a table over!

No need to shoot a man in Reno, just to eat the Pie!

The past is the past. I’m going to ignore the unpleasant exchange I had with their pastry chef after my first review and update my review because the food is deserving as such. I have been back several times since I moved to Logan Square and I have to compliment them on their food and service (although I have not purchased a bagel, I still refuse).
Food:
I can’t say enough good things about their food overall. I haven’t had a bad thing there yet. Their salads are very tasty, but do require you to add chicken so they are a little more filling (I am 6’3, 215 lbs, and eat a lot). Their sandwiches are, specifically the Master Blaster and Logan, outstanding. I like to add an egg to the Logan for extra protein. Double yum! Their pizza is second to none in Logan Square (sorry Dante’s). It is thin, flavorful and mouth watering. Its the Logan Square version of Coalfire (but smaller). Their hummus and bagel chips are a really good sharing item, although the hummus is a tad on the salty side.
Service:
Its been great every time I have been back. Not sure what happened the first time I came by (perhaps it was an off day for the entire staff), but the staff has been friendly, polite and attentive. I have been in with and without kids. They don’t care either way, and they busted out crayons and paper to draw on for the kids. Thats just smart business.

I don’t love this. They do provide an ATM, but there is a $ 2 fee. That sort of stinks, but it is what it is. Hit your local bank before you come by.

Reno is a great place in Logan Square with a unique variety of pizza choices. The vibe is lively, casual and chic. Given the modern look and the pretty large size of the restaurant (including a full bar), we were a bit surprised that it’s cash only. The beer selection is full of local fun choices that are served in the can with a glass. Being pregnant, I had to partake in a bottle of root beer and pretend it was real beer.
Four of us split the Wisconsin Burrata to start. This was the perfect starter to share between 4 of us and the flavors were just the right combination of sweet and fruity with a slightly sour ciabatta.
We then had 2 pizzas — the Paulina and the T.O. The Paulina was excellent! The pesto was surprisingly spicy with a great blend of minced cilantro and jalapeño. I was happy to see there was red tomato sauce to help offset the kick of the pesto and the pepperoni was just enough without being overwhelming. The T.O. was even more unique with a peanut salsa base and pieces of smoked chicken and onion. I wasn’t as huge a fan of the T.O. mostly because of the smoked flavor and the large pieces of chicken, but the rest of the group was pretty pleased with it.
The pizzas were both flavored very well, but the crust was extremely floppy, which you don’t see as often in Chicago. It was a tad too floppy for my preference, but it’s also deliberate and did not in any way take away from the amazing taste.
Two pizzas and the burrata were more than enough for 4 people and we ended up taking about 4 pieces of pizza home. Less than $ 40 for more than enough food for 4. Reno is a great deal, great vibe, great service, and great food. Just remember to bring cash!

I’ve been meaning to check out the Tuesday night specials here for a while. 2 pizzas for $ 20 and $ 2 PBR tall boys. I finally got around to stopping in with a couple friends this week.
We waited about 20min for a table, which was fine. Ordered the Lambeau and the Hang 10. Both were pretty good, nice chewy crust and toppings were good. The pizza doesn’t quite rival Dante’s or Boiler Room, but at 2/​$ 20 I am pretty happy with the pies.
If you’re hanging out in Logan Square on a Tuesday night, definitely come here. Any other night, I don’t know if I can recommend it.
On a side note: my girlfriend mentioned that she stops in here regularly on her morning commute because they have great yogurt parfaits, but the service can be slow sometimes.

When the waitress suggests a kale salad for an appetizer after your group just ordered a second round of stout beers, you know you’re in Logan Square.
I’d categorize Reno as a nice backup option if other Logan spots are too busy.
Things I like:
–Focaccia appetizer. It’s essentially a pizza without toppings and only $ 7.
–Very easy on the wallet (cash only)
Things I don’t like:
–Beer list is lacking.
–Mediocre pizza at best.
