Midwest Family Wellness

This was my first experience visiting Midwest Family Wellness and I plan on being a long time patient. The office team was very friendly and kind, my appointment was completely on time and I never felt rushed. They had their processes streamlined so I left with all paperwork prepared and expectations of follow up explained. The online portal had my notes from the appointment available within hours so it’s very easy for me to view.
Jenna Benoit, PA-​C actively listened to me and showed genuine interest. I recommend her as a healthcare provider to anyone looking for a very intelligent and compassionate practitioner. The Medical Assistant was very friendly and as someone with veins that roll, she was awesome at drawing blood. I’m very glad I listened to the positive Unilocal reviews and went for my appointment.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gilleon’s for over 5 years. She has always been incredibly kind and attentive to my concerns. She is timely and spends time with you during the appointment. She is the type of doctor that is also warm, caring, and genuinely concerned about your feelings. Many doctors don’t really connect with their patients, but Dr Gilleon is definitely the exception. The only complaint I would have is the promptness for callbacks and slowness to get back to patients regarding any concerns. There have been times when days would go by without a call back, even in urgent situations. The office staff doesn’t seem too concerned with your feelings but rather wants you to just leave them alone. I do recommend Dr Gilleon, but warning that if you call the office for any questions at all, you may not even get a return call, or it may take several days. There is no sense of urgency no matter what the situation is.

I see Dr. Sarah Kinsey, and I love her. She really worked with me to try and get down to the bottom of my issue. She is willing to think outside the box, and that is what medicine needs these days. Anyone can hand out vaccines, etc, but she went above and beyond as a physician to get to the root of the problem. I am not a fan of the hospital she is located in, or tests out of, but her practice is top notch.

Dr. Kinsey is honestly the best doctor I have ever had!!! I’ve been seeing her for over a year and she is compassionate, professional, and knowledgable. She has seen me through 2 hospitalizations (at a horrible hospital, but she did her best to make the best out of it) and all my asthma issues I’ve had as well as other problems I have had. I really can’t sing her praises enough!

My experience with Dr. Kinsey has been very good. She is very friendly and open, and treats you as though she genuinely wants to help you improve your health versus doing so because it’s her job. She is very timely and thorough following up with test results. And the patient portal is extremely helpful, seeing summary of care laid out and easily accessible.
The only down side for me is the front staff, who could use some warming up.

I am terribly disappointed with this practice. When I came in for my appointment I was told by the doctor that they did not have what I needed in stock. I left after 20 minutes with no more than a «sorry we don’t have what you’re looking for»…
Since this «visit» I’ve received multiple bills upwards of $ 120.00… mind you this is after my insurance payments. $ 44.00 of this was a Thorek bill for who knows what…
I will NOT be back.

While my visit to the practice was acceptable, I am not okay with getting billed twice for the same appointment. This must be something new, as I went here early in 2014 and didn’t encounter it, but apparently being located next to Thorek hospital means that going in for an annual checkup is simultaneously a «wellness visit» (covered 100% by insurance) AND a HOSPITAL VISIT, which… is not covered 100% by insurance. I’ve never even been inside Thorek but somehow I managed to become a patient there. They seem to know how ridiculous this is because when I called Thorek’s billing department they immediately wrote off the extra charges. I won’t be going here again.

Dr. Gilleon is by far the best doctor I’ve ever had. She’s amazing — doesn’t talk down to you, doesn’t make you feel embarassed, listens to your concerns, etc. She’s extremely relatable and personable, and I always leave feeling so thankful!

I’ve seen both Jenna Benoit, PA and Dr. Kinsey here. The nurse Timeka and Megan at the front are always super friendly and helpful. I’ve gone in for things from vaccines to labs to figuring out and treating my back pain. They even took the time to explain the need for certain procedures to my insurance company to ensure coverage. Also, their patient portal gives very unique and prompt access to the providers. I’ve requested appointments and medication changes/​refills through it. I’ve already sent two friends to Midwest Family Wellness and I intend to continue to see and refer them.

Great doctors and staff, Dr Kinsey actually listens to her patients and treats them with respect and dignity.

STAY AWAY from Dr Tiffany Nyguen My daughter had to beg her office for important test results for over two weeks One of the office staff unintentionally copied my daughter on an email in which Dr Nyguen and her staff were joking about the situation
The day after Midwest Family Wellness realized this blatant error Dr Nyguen finally called with the results Most unprofessional, cruel and irresponsible
These people should not be practicing medicine!

Dr Gilleon is AMAZING!!! She’s a brilliant doctor and she’s very personable. Her office staff is great too.
I don’t respond well to western medicine, but I reluctantly made my first appointment with Dr Gilleon for my recent health issues after a holistic provider failed to identify and treat my problem. Dr Gilleon identified the problem immediately and is helping me on my journey to wellness. She and her staff are very responsive to my phone calls and inquiries.
I’m beyond impressed with Dr Gilleon and her staff. You will not be disappointed if you seek care at this practice!

The first routine appointment went well. Dr. Kinsey was very nice. Her staff is very skilled at drawing blood although they didn’t seem very pleasant. Just kind of like they had to be there.
After waiting almost 2 weeks for my test results, I get a call from them saying I needed to come in to get the results. With the economy that way it is, I didn’t really want to spend another $ 30 copay just to get results. With all my previous doctors, I’ve never had to come in to get MY results. In my opinion, what she had to tell me could of been told to me over the phone.
One of the main reasons I went in is still not solved and I didn’t really get any explanation or ideas of where to go from here.
I just received my statement from them. Apparently my insurance didn’t cover the full amount of this most recent visit and I owe them money.
I want a physician who I feel genuinely cares about my well being and not just the bottom line.
I’m not impressed with the staff enough to go back. I’ll be looking for a different primary care doctor.

Initially, I really like Dr. Gilleon, she was incredibly personable and explained things well. However, I had to wait 5 DAYS TO RECEIVE THE RESULTS of a RAPID STEP THROAT test before she prescibled antibiotics. Also, was charged a ROOM FEE from Thorek of $ 80, that was not covered by Blue Cross Blue Sheild PPO. I inquired of the office why it took so long it took so long to receive my results. They said 1 week was typical to receive results of tests and were not apologetic. I have never seen a doctor where that’s an acceptable amount of time to wait for a strep test or one that charges room fees. Terrible practice.

As a PS from my posting from yesterday I received a letter from the Doctor that she did not want to treat because of «my conduct».
My conduct was expecting to get a prescription filled in less than three weeks and not to have to wait over an hour for an appointment after I rushed from work. Yes, I got mad and sent some aggressive emails… no four letter words though.
So instead of being a professional and apologizing for her and her staff’s incompetency… she put it all back on me.
You can read all the good review, but please read the ones in between which, I believe, are the real reviews.
You have been warned. If you decide to see her… you too will be looking for a new doctor soon.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Gilleon for 2 years now. She is a very knowledgeable and caring doctor.

Dr. Gilleon was great. Very personable, friendly and takes the time to listen to your concerns. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new family doctor.

I choose Dr. Gilleon based on the reviews and I am very happy I did so. Her staff was very friendly and I was seen within 15 minutes. Dr. Gilleon was thorough and attentive and I never felt rushed. Within minutes of making my first appointment, her staff emailed me to make sure that I had all my insurance paperwork ready so there wouldn’t be any issues. Great experience from beginning to end!

Ughhhh! absolutely the worst experience I have had with a Dr! There is NO WAY the other positive reviews are not fakes, friends, relatives, etc. My experience here was ridiculous… I should have know what to expect when I went to make a very short notice appointment, and her schedule was wide open! & what Dr. only works 3 days a week??? Doesn’t return phone calls, and all but refuses to give results? I went there for some blood tests… & had to jump through hoops just to get my results! When I got off the phone and realized I was not given the results from all of my tests, I was told I had to «schedule another appt. if you would like your results». Ahhhh. What a joke. It was a VERY unprofessional experience! STAY AWAY! Everything about the experience seemed like they were playing fake doctor or something– (& fyi– she is not a MD… she’s a DO).

Dr. Gilleon keeps me coming back.
Excellent provided services. and takes great care of her patients. Great at getting back with any questions, comments/​concerns, as I’ve had many, and always have a prompt reply.
Great personality, friendly and always makes you feel welcome.
