History

Established in 1998.

Direct Rug Import was the dream of Amir Pouya as he traveled with his father and grandfather to bazaars and villages, watching the handmade rugs being crafted with skills handed down over the years. They would instill in him what it meant to create rugs with such texture and design, that each becomes a masterpiece of art.

While studying to be a mechanical engineer in college, Amir realized his dream and love of texture and design had stayed with him. He has worked in the retail rug business for over 20 years, and has placed his beautiful masterpieces in homes accross the United States.

In 1998 Amir was able to realize his dream by opening his one of a kind showroom, Direct Rug Import. Now he could share his passion and devotion to the art of design and texture in these beautiful handmade rugs with others. You can choose designs and colors of your choice and have a rug made specifically for you.
