AAA Chandler West Auto Repair

So I took my car in for an oil change here. The car was running fine and I had no real problems. After they’re done with their «inspection», they find $ 2,000.00 worth of problems. They also jacked up my phone charger that I had left in my car. Usually AAA is pretty cool, but I’m not too happy about this last visit.

I have no idea how this place could ever get a good rating. I have taken cars there twice and extremely dissatisfied both times. The first was because of an electrical problem. It took 3 days for them to figure out that it was the fuse box and to replace it. Afterward the AC didn’t work. Turns out they ordered and installed the wrong fuse box. It took another 3 days to get the right part. We later discovered that we could have gotten the job done at another shop for about 25% cheaper.
Today we had our 4 Runner towed there at the recommendation of the AAA tow truck driver to have the front wheel bearings and ball joints replaced. Their quote was over $ 3000. I received 2 other quotes. One for close to $ 2000 and another for $ 1300 that also included an alignment.
We contacted them to inform them that we were having it towed elsewhere. They said they will get it off the rack. They made no attempt to lower the price. When we arrived there 30 minutes later it was still on the rack with the front wheel removed. There were no other cars being worked on and 2 workers were taking a smoke break. We told them we were there for the car. They said they would have it ready shortly. The tow truck showed up before it was off the rack.
Their only comment was but we use good parts. Well based on these two experiences they use very expensive parts and over charge.
I wouldn’t recommend them at all.

So excited to be able to give an auto repair/​service company a five star rating. The shop is close to my house and had really good ratings on Unilocal so I gave it a shot. It’s always difficult to find a shop that you can trust that has decent prices. I called and scheduled the appointment with Rob and he was also the guy that took care of me when I arrived. He was great the other technicians were great and I was in and out in a couple of hours. Very satisfied and happy to report that I think I found my shop.

AAA has an excellent reputation and I have been a loyal customer for 41 years… but it only takes one person to tarnish a reputation. Recently I was told I had a torn boot on my rack and pinion steering and this rep suggested I replace this assembly which was replaced less than 2 years ago. The only reason to replace this unit is if it’s leaking power steering fluid. This suggested $ 800 repair hurt AAA’s reputation… and now the trust is gone… at least at this location.

I have used this facility for oil changes, minor auto repair and coolant flush. The staff has always been friendly, professional and most of all knowledgeable. Work has been done quickly and efficiently. On one of my visits a potential repair cost of $ 1200 to repair a power seat problem was reduced to $ 400 thanks to some basic research by the repair staff. As a AAA member the 10% discount and the 2 year warranty sold me on using this facility.

My car’s timing belt went between Tucson and Phoenix. At 11:30 PM. On Sunday night. It really couldn’t get much worse. The AAA tow truck driver recommended using this repair shop and I went with it. I used the key drop and left my car at the shop before catching a shuttle back to Tucson.
Andre was the service technician who called me the next morning. While they couldn’t work on the car because it was a Volvo they confirmed it was the timing belt and kindly held it over the weekend free of charge until I could have it towed back to Tucson. The level of communication was excellent. I would highly recommend this shop for for non-​Volvos.

So, I am 43 years old. I have NEVER seen an automotive repair shop get 5 out of five stars, for anything. EVER.
As i read the reviews, i thought, «could this be for real?»
I assure you, it is.
I called the shop, to see if they did tire repair. The gentleman who answered said yes, and that it would a dozen or so greenbacks. I thought GREAT! As i mentioned how the tire was already flat, and i lived about 6 miles away, he then said «Discount tire is a little closer to you, and they will repair it for free.»
???
Its customer service like that, that makes me more than happy to pay 16 dollars, rather than get it for free.
Even better… i had to drop the car off and leave it a day, since i was going to be going to work soon. So they brought me home in their shuttle van. then picked me up the next morning to get my car.
Yeah. I will NEVER go anywhere else for ANYTHING, as long as AAA auto repair is around.
EDIT– Just had an oil change done the other day. Took about 30 mins. They didn’t try to up-​sell me. or convince me that everything in my engine was coming apart.
Total after taxes and removal fee.25.00 Ill will be doing ALL of my oil changes here from now on.

They could not have been more helpful. The appointment was made at the time I requested and they were ready for me when I got there. They promised to check the areas I was concerned about and they did so. They provided a shuttle both ways with no waiting. They informed me of some items that needed replacing and I was very grateful as I am 81 years old. I would not take my car anywhere else!

The service was great and took less than one hour. They even replaced a blinker bulb for free. The desk person was very professional and the technician was thorough and very polite. Take your car here and you will be happy you did. Great rates and oil change was very reasonable.

I recently visited this clean, efficient, and well run shop again for more work on my car.
Again, excellent work was done, needed maintenance pointed out and prioritized. This is one of the reasons I renewed my AAA membership recently. I know I can trust a company who puts its name on a business that I can gladly give my highest recommendation to.

I received a coupon via e-​mail for an oil change. Given the low price I thought I’d try. I called and made an appointment at the Chandler store and was very pleased with the professionalism during that call.
I made the appointment, and they were completed within the estimated time given. I’ve never been in a cleaner auto shop. Nice people working there, and very helpful. I assumed they would try to sell me additional services, but they only pointed out a couple of things that might need servicing in the future. I couldn’t have had a better experience.
It’s wonderful to find something like this in this day and age. Congratulations to AAA.

Darn. The part was being ordered and a bill was going to be sent via email (as I live far from my daughter). The part was not ordered (took 3 phone calls and over a month… all done from 1000 miles away), and they were unable to email me a bill that I could pay online. Of course I got to hear how it was all a guys fault who just didn’t show up for work. I hate excuses, an apology and discount were in order. but neither offered. Won’t ever go back!!!

It was time to take my 2003 Camry to get some services done for the 150,000 mile marker (transmission flush, radiator flush, spark plugs, oil change, and serpentine belt). I had first taken my Camry to the Chandler Blvd location in May and had such a great experience that I decided to return to the location to get these major maintenance repairs done. I called ahead of time to make a reservation and was pleasantly surprised to find out that they were also opened on Saturdays.
I dropped the Camry off when they opened at 8 a.m. I was expecting to wait the entire day to get the repairs done, but they were done by 2 p.m. Both Damon and the other service manager on duty were very professional and friendly. Just like my first visit, the price was exactly what they estimated and they give a discount on labor for being a AAA member.
The Camry hasn’t driven this smoothly in a long time. It is very comforting to have found an auto repair facility that I can completely trust with something as important as my car. I don’t have to worry about getting ripped off because these guys exude the high reputation that is related to AAA. I’ll never take any of my cars to the dealership ever again.

I’ve been a member of AAA for over 10 years, and the service has always been great in times of need. However, a recent experience went above and beyond my expectations!
While driving home during evening rush hour, my car stalled in the center lane of the southbound 101 where the 202 meets… the temperature was well over 100 degrees, and I had no choice but to stay in the car while calling AAA for assistance.
Then, out of nowhere while still on the call, a AAA tow truck pulled up in front of my car, and the driver sprung into action safely towing my car to the side of the road… thanks, Paul, for being a guardian angel!
He determined that it was not the battery, but most likely the alternator and proceeded to tow my car to his destination which just happened to be the AAA Auto Repair shop on Chandler/​Kyrene (just 2 miles from my home), just 10 minutes before closing time!
There, Rob took over to assist with the repair details, and my car was ready in just a few days at a reasonable rate for parts and labor.

I don’t think I will go back here again. I went their for an oil change plus I asked them to check Wheel Alignment because where I did the alignment before didn’t do it right and I ended up replacing tires which was not covered under warranty because of alignment issues. Anyways after AAA did an alignment check they said issue is in the rear right camber, to fix it they have to replace the shin assembly. First I thought good they found the problem unlike the other place they’ve been screwing around for more than 9 months. It was taking a while to do that when I checked found out they didn’t put it correct first time so they have to take that out and put a new one. Finally when my vehicle was ready to pick up my CSR was trying to explain the alignment report I had some questions on their readings, he tried to explain then he got confused with the report because he was not sure which one was «initial» and «final» he went to check with the Tech and came back whatever he said was correct. At that point I was like I paid close to $ 300 still not sure what they have done is correct or not. When I asked about it they said I’m accusing them for not doing their service, I did not yell or scream I was just asking about the readings in the report. After all this with half hearted I paid and got the keys when I drive it started to pulling towards right very badly I immediately called them they said to drop the vehicle or come back again next day. So I go there next day, manager worked with the tech then they said problem is actually on one of my front tire when they flipped it started pulling left, conclusion was it was a radial pull so it is a tire issue and asked me to replace them. Again I thought they were correct but guess what it was pulling right again, this time I went back immediately they send the tech to do the test drive with me in the freeway. His conclusion was alignment looked fine but the issue was on the steering so he adjusted it. Tech mentioned he was the one did the original test drive in the morning but he tested on the surface road got wrong information now there is no tire issue and no need to replace it. I thought can trust AAA service since it is operated by them directly but I lost my money, still my vehicle is not going straight and I wasted 2 full days, after all this they told me I’m accusing them. Both Manager and CSR didn’t treat me well overall that is all I can say. Oh .1 star is for oil change and Shuttle service.

Those at AAA-​Chandler Auto Repair were courteous and honest. I appreciated the consideration of my time and their quick communication. They recommended that the repairs were costly for the model and year of the car and I appreciate this information. they did not up sell me for unnecessary repairs or services. Thank you!

This office was great. I went in with a coupon for an oil change and had them check out some problems Discount Tire suggested I have investigated. They made the repairs and it was far below what we had expected to pay. The staff is friendly and the office is clean. FYI you need to make an appointment and it does take some time for them to work on your car but they have a shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up. But this inconvenience is worth it knowing that quality work is being done.

Took my car in for brake inspection. Provided information on what service was needed and weren’t pushy about it. When set up my appointment over the phone the attendant reminded me that there were coupons available at the website.
When I went back to pick up my car after service they were quick and efficient.
I will go back for future service and would definitely recommend.

AAA management was prompt in addressing my concerns posted. Josh and Damon did a great job of following up with me and apologizing. That is the kind of service I am used to with AAA.

Great service — they came and towed our car to the shop. They were getting ready to close for the night, but were able to look at it first thing in the morning. Called with an estimate and was able to complete the work in the amount of time that they said.
We have only been AAA members for a few years, but I highly recommend it.
