Blue Bottom Pool & Spa Supply – Cedar Park

My 2 speed pump burned out on Feb 27^th. I called Blue Bottom and had someone come out that same day and tell me all about how there was a new Variable Speed Pump available on March 1^st with a $ 100 MFR Rebate and made a special point to tell me about the $ 300 Austin Energy Credit I was also eligible for.
After waiting more than a week for them to finally come back to me with a reasonable price, they did the work in about 2 hours even though it was only supposed to take 1. The issue was that they had not properly fit one of the PVC intake pipes to the front of the pump. They were close to telling me I had a clogged intake line when I pointed out that there was air coming in from this pipe. In less than 5 minutes after that, the pump was up and running.
About 5 days later, I still had not paid for the work so I called them 4 or 5 times before I finally received a invoice which I paid immediately by credit card. 4 or 5 days later, I called again in order to get the receipt that I needed to submit to Austin Energy for my rebate since they had failed to send it after I paid.
Once I finally received the receipt, I went online to Austin Energy to file for the rebate that Blue Bottom told me I was eligible for and to my surprise, Blue Bottom Pools is not a licensed installer according to Austin Energy which means I am not able to claim the $ 300 rebate that the company sold me on as an incentive.
When I called back to complain about this, they were VERY surprised that they were not on the Austin Energy list but them proceeded to tell me what a great deal I got on the pump anyway. They said they would check with the City and get back to me. Well, 30 days later, still nothing. I was swindled into purchasing the pump from them with the belief that I could claim this additional $ 300 from the City.
I’m still waiting for a response from the company. I am shocked that I could have possibly been the first customer to ask about the Austin Energy Rebate when their technician mentioned it to me within the first 2 minutes he was at my house. I am horrified that a company can just lie to me like this and have no responsibility to make it right. I’d like to get the $ 300 from them somehow but I don’t see them taking responsibility for misleading me like that.
Caution to anyone who buys a variable speed pump from them. YOU WILL NOT GET THE AUSTIN ENERGY REBATE. GO WITH A RECOGNIZED CITY OF AUSTIN CONTRACTOR.

This company came out and blew the circuit box on the spa. They have a technician named Anthony and was absolutely rude and arrogant claiming they weren’t responsible for the damage. Management was no help either. They don’t stand by their work and are horrible to deal with. They missed two appointments without calling and i wasted two afternoons from work waiting for them. I’m left with a $ 800 repair because of them. Absolutely worthless of a company. Not even worth one star.

Blue Bottom Pool Supply has been taking care of our family’s pool for almost three years now and they are amazing. Our pool is located among enormous oak trees and even though we have trimmed back we tend to see a lot of pollen and leaves tumbling into our pool. The folks at Blue Bottom not only keep it clean but they keep it clear, blue and beautiful. With five kids jumping in and out of the pool daily during the summer it is wonderful for me to not to not have to worry about it being clean and safe for our family because I know that the people over at Blue Bottom Pools are on it. Over the years we have had skimmers break and washers give out and it is a simple call to Bobby and or Shayla and they are on task every time with not only getting the items replaced for us but with super low prices so we can spend more on floaty toys for the kids. We truly are grateful for a company that attends to our needs, is available when we call, and knows what they are doing. The knowledge they have is very evident in the way they tend to our pool and to us as customers. I wish there was a way to give them ten stars because they absolutely deserve it.

We finally found our pool supply store! Blue Bottom Pool Supply literally saved our pool. The recent floods caused our pump motor lid to break & blew off while we were out of state on vacation. We called Blue Bottom & they had the exact lid we needed for a great price. Our pool was up & running again by lunch time yesterday! The guys are so friendly & knowledgeable! We went back today for chemicals & to have water tested. Try Blue Bottom Pools today, you won’t regret it! Hopefully we will be swimming by tomorrow!

Couldn’t be happier with Bobby at Blue Bottom Pools. I have an above ground pool that’s 6 years old and needed a new liner. He got me the exact one I needed and had it professionally installed by Keith. I’m contacting them with servicing my filter now. Very impressed with their professionalism and service.

They are always very knowledgeable and work with you to address pool problems. Their prices are typically comparable or less expensive than the chain pool store. The handful of times I’ve been there I’ve felt confident they were trying to solve my problems to achieve a low maintenence pool instead of trying to upsell.

I’ve been going to their Cedar Park store for a few years now and love it. It’s a handy location for me plus the guys here are helpful and nice. They always have the supplies I need and are good at recommending how to successfully address any issues I’m having with my pool. Stetson is new to the team since I was there last time and was really helpful today when I went in. So glad they’re here!

The team at Blue Bottom are very knowledgeable and helpful in keeping my pool running. I feel confident in bring questing to them about my pol and its maintenance.

I received some very bad advice from a large pool supply company here in town when my above ground pool had a significant algae problem from rain and wild temperature swings. Was told to completely drain the pool then scrub it and refill, which I thought was wrong and asked if the service tech was sure. He said yes, and I did it.
So I was right, you never completely drain an above ground pool. That mistake cost me $ 1K. Finding someone knowledgable about above ground pools that actually wants to deal with them is not as easy as you would think.
Bobby and the other folks at Blue Bottom have been wonderful helping me fix this mess. I live way far south from them, so Justin has been great about coaching me over the phone to make sure I take care of things correctly from here on out.
Finding service providers that are knowledgable, ethical, and helpful is not always easy, but you get the trifecta with Blue Bottom.

Blue Bottom Pools is the best pool store in the area. Bobby is very helpful and the staff is quite knowledgeable. The customer service is excellent! I recommend Blue Bottom Pools to anyone that needs advice or chemicals.

I’ve been using Blue Bottom Pools since I moved to Cedar Park a year ago. They’ve been great every time I’ve gone in, but today was special, I had done some research online and had determined I needed a valve actuator, a $ 150 part, plus $ 120 or so for installation. I didn’t want to pay, but felt I had no choice, as it was leaking badly. Instead of sending someone out to fix it, Troy suggested I purchase a $ 13 part, and he walked me through fixing it myself. He’s helped me in the past, but who knocks themselves out of nearly $ 300 and only makes $ 13 to help a customer. Nobody, that’s who, until today. What customer service! Troy is a one of a kind honest, businessman. If you have a pool, you have to shop here. I won’t go anywhere else. Thanks again, Troy. I admire your honesty. A rare trait today.

I own a pool service company and a couple of my customers shop here. They love the customer service they get from this place.

These guys have gone above and beyond to help me and my wife out on getting are above ground pool all dialed in. Helped us upgrade or pump to on that can handle the volume of water and save us a bundle of money on filters and hours of labor.
They don’t try to over sell a product just to make a sale, they go out of their way to help each person who walks through their doors. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Project update: All complete and went smoothely thanks to Blue Bottom pools. They saved me over $ 120 in labor by giving me great directions on how to replace the filter pump myself. I’ll be going back there for sure.

I’m in the midst of an emergency pool mainainance situation that began just this morning. And Bobby (owner of Blue Bottom Pool) has been a huge help.
At every turn, Bobby has volunteered phone and face time and taken every effort to save me money and avoid unecessary labor charges — volunteering extra time from his busy schedule to explain to me how to replace my filter pump by myself rather than pay him $ 120 to come out and do that.
You might wonder how someone could stay in business by suggesting to customers how to avoid using their services. Well, it’s simple: Provide value to your customers and they’ll be loyal.
I read in prior reviews complaints about attitude. Well, problem solved. The attitude I encountered was «working hard, but making time to educate and serve customers».
So far I am delighted with the service and attitude at Blue Bottom. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else at this time.

Update: after writing this in 2011 things have changed, I got amazing service from David for a leak and I still go there for all my pool needs, it just took them some time to warm up to me ;)

I really want to love this place for my pool needs but I struggle.
The service is great but man do some of them have attitudes. I can walk in there and get all the answers and the chemicals I need but I certainly don’t go in for smiles and friendly service.
Because they know their stuff I will go back but just don’t go looking for shining faces and over the top friendly service is all.

Very good pool store. Troy is one of the best in retail. If he can’t help you, he will find someone who can.

Great place to buy any pool/​spa chemical you may need and get your water tested. Troy and the guys are very technical and can help you with anything you don’t know or need help with.
Just recently signed up for weekly pool service and my pool sparkles and is always swim ready. Two people come out and clean your pool and it’s good to go until the next service. So far no complaints and just sparkling results.
