Great service. Great price. Fair treatment. Feel like I have found a mechanic I can trust. After receiving an outrageous quote from a local service station, I emailed, got a fair quote. Local gas station wanted to charge extra to have part shipped via overnight. Davie’s got the part the same day — no extra charge. Washed the car and provided a detailed safety inspection report. I am very pleased.

I alway take my truck and RV there for repairs and never had to take it back in for the same problem. Great work and a very professional business. They take the time to explain what needs to be done and get it done ASAP!

Trustworthy, certified mechanics can be a hard find. I broke down on I10, with no familiarity of the area. After looking up repair shops, I’m happy I decided on Davies. Five stars all the way! They were efficient, fair and professional. They even picked me up from the hotel to help me get back on the road. If you need a trustworthy mechanic, I highly recommend Davies.

Great friendly service. Didn’t have an appointment, but came in at 8am for smog checks on two cars. They were able to squeeze them in between appointments. Both cars were done by 2pm!

The very worst auto repair place I’ve ever used. A shame I have to give Davies even one star. Iit would be a lengthy review if I wanted to list all they did wrong. If you are a reckless gambler take your vehicle here.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! They are SO nice and SO honest and that is exactly what people want from their mechanic… not to mention how great our cars get fixed!!! From the owners to their staff, this place makes u feel like «family»!!!

Took my 1999 GMC Jimmy here as they are supposed to be in the same network as Phil’s in Big Bear and would do warranty work. Turns out that all they do is call their insurance company for approval for repair, which always gets denied. Nice business model. Davies charged me $ 140 to repair the horn, which didn’t work again soon. When I took it back in, he wanted to charge me an additional $ 43 to tell me that it must be in the steering column and have a nice day. When I commented negatively on this development, I was told to take my business elsewhere.

Love Dave and Elaine! They are family owned business being around about 30 years. They really go extra miles for your need. Ask for Drew! He helped me last time and change my oil. Great customer services!

Jessie was a pleasure to deal with. Truck died, I had it towed to their shop after hours and when they checked it in the morning, it started up and he called me with the good news that it wasn’t anything major. From there the service got even better when he worked with a transporter I hired to ship the truck to LA. An honest, hard working and nice mechanic that was a pleasure to deal with!

The nicest people you’d ever want to do business with. They answer their phone when you call, they give accurate quotes and the shop is conveniently located on Perez Road in the heart of Cathedral City.

Friendly, but a rip-​off.
I took my car to Davies to fix a knocking noise at the front of the engine. When I got the car back, they had replaced the idler arm pulley and radiator for $ 1600. Then I was surprised to find the knock was still there, and the radiator which never leaked previously was leaking. To top it off, the air conditioner didn’t work afterward.
Run away from Davies. I only wish I had a suggestion for a reliable shop.

I wanted to like this place — it’s close by and convenient. Receptionist was nice.
But I had trouble with my car after it was given a routine service — serious trouble. Was able to get car repaired by someone who specialized in my car type. It could be that this auto service company does better with American made cars. Or maybe it was entirely coincidental that my car stopped working after the service here. Anyways, I will stay with the guy who got my car back on track — the car is still not perfect but at least I can drive it again.

I haven’t had an auto engine problem since moving to Cat City three years ago, so I chose these guys strictly on the Unilocal reviews. I was very impressed. I’ve never experienced such customer service from a garage. I dropped my car off at 8:00 AM, and by 10:00 AM they called me with a diagnosis and estimate. They went out of their way to track down an obsolete part for my old jalopy. I got a call the following afternoon saying the part had arrived and was installed. I didn’t have a ride to pick it up, so they sent someone across town to get me. WOW. When I got there, the service manager showed me the old part and explained how it operated. When I went to my car, it was freshly washed and it ran perfectly.
My only complaint is that I couldn’t receive their standard 2 year warrantee because they had to use a refurbished part. Still, they gave me 6 months. I’ll take it! Also, the prices are probably close to what you’d find at a dealership, but they’re well worth it. (An engine diagnostic will run you from $ 90 to $ 150.) They are an AAA repair shop and you will get a discount with your card.
HIGHLY recommended. It was the best auto repair experience I’ve had in my 20 years of driving.

I was coming in from out of town to purchase a used vehicle at a dealership in the same neighborhood as Davies, so I called them up and booked an appointment to do a pre-​purchase inspection.
The receptionist was friendly for starters. The inspection they did was very thorough. They road tested it, checked fluids, put it up on their lift to get under it, checked mechanics, etc etc. All in all I think it was about a 100 point inspection process. All for $ 60.
I got a good feeling from them overall, everyone seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy. I had a lot of questions because I wanted to make sure my vehicle was just right and the guy working on it was very patient and took the time to explain everything to me. I would return here with confidence.
It sounded like they work on an appointment basis only, so I suggest calling ahead if you need their services.
