Came in late from our drive from NY and our hotel recommended this place for a late night meal. Unfortunately we were disappointed with our meals. My well done burger was pretty much burnt and the color of my Coke. Our take away meals did not have utensils nor did it have any condiments. These are basic things that you need while staying in a hotel. Sorry we were disappointed with our visit as first timers. However the service wasn’t too bad.

We had been to this particular 99 a dozen of times. You can say we are just about regulars. But after this day we will never return again. We were sitting waiting for our food and all of a sudden a waitress dropped a tray of drinks. Accidents do happen all the time in restaurants. Well! A piece of ice popped into my husband’s eye. Granted it is his birthday! The waitress starts to wipe off his sweater that he was wearing from the drinks that plashed all over him. Not concerned about his eye and apologized. She walks away! His eye began to turn red. We called our waiter over to tell him what happened and he began to laugh. WTH! Is so funny? This place has no manners at all. Never again !

I like to know the price of an alcoholic beverage or glass of wine before I order. It is uncomfortable to ask every price; I have a right to know. Please list prices on the menu!

I was eating along tonight, waiting for someone else to show up later and there wasn’t much going on and i was pretty much starving so i came here because it’s closer to where i need to be. The waitress was attentive for the most part but wasn’t able to make any good recommendations. Eventually i opted for the 3 course meal: Chowder, Crusted COD and Peanut butter brownie with a scoop of ice cream. The taste of the chowder was ok. nothing spectacular. however, it was BARELY warm. not even luke warm so that was disappointing. The crusted cod was by far better than i thought or anticipated so that was nice. the top was nicely brown and crispy. the inside was hot. the texture wasn’t so fancy but i was ok with it because i wasn’t expecting much. the peanutbutter brownie was very good with a little side of whipped cream. overall the food wasn’t bad. service, again was ok. she was attentive in the beginning but when her other waitress friend sat down next to their buddies in the next table, she just stood there and chatted with them most of the time so i sat and waited for the next meal/dessert for awhile. i didn’t mind because i didn’t have anything else to do anyway. The atmosphere wasn’t loud and not many people in there but her voice was very loud and booming. every time she spoke people would look our way. so when i asked her to bring another set of the same 3 course meal, she gave me a confused look and repeated me. and i just politely said yes please, the exact one. She then asked if i wanted it to go or stay. and i said for here and she had to repeat that too — again loud. so her friends sitting on the next table all stared over and had looks on their faces once again. The chowder was still barely warm and the COD this time was a little lighter in color than the one i had. both my boyfriend and i thought the COD and peanut butter brownie were good but the chowder could have been warmer or hot and that would have been way better. i would give this a 2.5 stars but the COD wasgood and deserving of at least a 3 on it’s own. so i left it at 3.

We sat at the bar. I got nachos with chili and she got the chicken fingers and fries. The first few nachos without chili on them were good, but the chili was very watery and tasted funny/old. Halfway through i couldn’t eat anymore because it turned into a moist, non-solid mixture due to the watery chili. The chicken fingers were fatty and greasy. We both got pretty sick that night and were sick for the next few days. The service was fine and the food came fast, but the food wasn’t good.

Terrible service. We went there today for lunch and the place was empty, but still had to wait for a table and it took a very long time for the food to be brought out. The food wasn’t bad but the mood had already set in.

They have recently remodeled this place and the décor and atmosphere is very nice. The menu also has been revamped. We had a waitress named Kim and she was on point with her service. I will always ask for her when we go to this 99. This is going to be #199.

Stopped in for dinner around 10PM on Saturday night. I have gone to this location a few times but it was awful this time. The waitress was lame at best and looked like she didn’t want to be there. Ordered the steak flatbread and cheese appetizer and was served it without any plates. Ordered the crock of seafood chowder and was served a ½ bowl and sent it back. If I wanted a cup size I would have ordered it. The waitress then disappeared and I had to flag down someone else for a refill on drinks. The service was just awful for a Sat nite, and to top it off, the waitress disappeared a second time and after 15 minutes we had to flag a bartender to get our bill so we could get the hell out of here. The tip reflected our service!

The carpet smells and the tables corners are filled with crud. Worse dinner ever. Our server Lina was Aweful and I tried getting her attention twice and she walked away. The glasses look like they were not washed and the bathrooms filthy. Don’t waste your time or money in this dump. I came hungry and I left hungry.

I’m only reviewing the bar since I haven’t sat in the dining area. The bartenders are all really nice and provide great service. They’re also very knowledgeable about the menu. They have pumpkin head beer on tap and put cinnamon sugar on the rim. Soooo good. I also really like the pretzel sticks. It’s 5 minutes from my place of business so it’s a great place to meet for after work drinks.

I spent the week in Copley square for a conference that happened to be during restaurant week. Needless to say I did partake in a few prixe fixe dinners during the week and was not so impressed. Lunches during our conferences were less than meager so by week’s end when we headed out of Copley square for lunch in Canton near our sister office I was really hoping to finally have a decent lunch. As we pulled in and I saw the ginormous«99» sign i started to worry. For a second there I thought we were pulling into a buffet… and my stomach started to grumble. We walked in, and to my relief it resembled an olive garden style restaurant, it’s clean and best of all it’s NOT A BUFFET. Thank god! We sit down and proceed to go through the menu, there are waaaaay too many options. I decide to go for the elusive lobster roll. Now… I know I am not going to have an authentic lobster roll experience at a pseudo olive garden but eh, the picture looks yummy and this version was hot with butter. BONUS! Food comes out. and it turns out that this commercial lobster roll is actually quite yummy, more yummy than a few of those restaurant week fancy smancy restaurant places I’ve been eating at all week. who woulda thunk it? and its like 1⁄3 of the price of those prixe fixes. Next time i’m in Boston I’ll be back for more. I am definitely a fan.

Never had a bad meal here in the over 10 years I have eaten lunch. Although some of the favorites are gone(Toasted ravioli, chicken, broc, ziti alfredo, chicken/sausage alforno), the recent addition of the chicken, broc mac and cheese is very good. Cindy at the bar is always friendly, as are the other staff members.

The family went to this 99 around the 10th of May and I could not believe how bad it was. I have been going to this 99 for years when I visit the area with my family and I usually pick up gift cards. I always found the food good and the service pretty good. There were four adults and none of the meals were complicated. We sent two orders back twice because the chef did not know the difference between what we requested for the steak tips«medium well» and what we got which was«leather». The baked potato was still hard. For a dinner that took way too long to receive and then to have it done wrong I was very upset, but never got nasty with anyone. surprised. I finally gave up in disgust. The manager handled it as he should have and I would never take the problem out on the server — who also seemed embarrassed by the whole thing. I think it’s time for a new chef that can actually cook or some retraining for the kitchen staff. My mother even said, do NOT get me a gift card here ever again as this was the 2nd time that this has happened to her. I will admit the first time it was a different 99, but now she wants nothing to do with any of them. This has turned me off of 99 and it will take a lot to get me there again.

I will preface this review by saying if you are a vegetarian DONOTEATHERE! There is not one single entrée on the entire menu that is vegetarian. I had to settle on getting the side garden salad and a side of honey glaze biscuits. The salad was just a basic garden salad, but didn’t have enough dressing in my opinion. The biscuits didn’t have much honey to be honey glazed, but were ok. The biggest issue we had was the service. Our waitress was relatively nice, but was absolutely terrible at waiting. Anything we asked for took two or three times to actually receive(refills, silverware, etc). We asked for napkins several times(none were on the table) and when she finally gave them to us she grabbed the«extra» napkins on the recently vacated, dirty table next to us. Needless to say we didn’t use them. Based on the lack of variety for my dietary restrictions, as well as the lackluster service, I do not intend on returning.

The Ninety Nine is not my favorite restaurant. However, it is a popular go-to spot for a large group of my friends. Why, you ask? Well, it’s pretty inexpensive, it’s centrally located and they have a large variety of pub foods. The service and quality are predictable. Some of their meals are actually quite good,(I am looking at you, Macadamia encrusted chicken!). I am not a fan of their burgers – I think I can get a better burger at the Halfway Café at Cobb’s Corner. There is something to be said about a place that can accommodate 8 of your friends on short notice and wont put anyone in bankruptcy. The $ 9.99 meals are great for the money. This place is not my date night splurge by any means, but when a big group of us want to grab some grub, this place does quite well.

Excellent Service! Overall, not a big deal and we were not upset. One of our meals came out without chicken. We ordered the new item, chicken & broc Mac & Cheese. It came-out without chicken. No big deal and we told Paige. She immediately was responsive and the manager was even more responsive. The manager came over and apologized. In all honesty, we were not even the least bit mad. We found it funny that the chicken was missing. We were absolutely overwhelmed and wowed by the stellar service that Paige and the manager provided. As a loyal 99 customer you didn’t need to win my business and loyalty but I will say that the 99 restaurant in Canton, MA now has an advocate. This restaurant is 1 mile from our house in Canton and it is great to know that we have some of the best 99 employees around at our primary 99. Thank you!

I gotta say, this place gets props for being nice to loud latecomers who throw popcorn at each other, yell and sing, and ask for separate checks. The staff tolerates us and gives good service despite the pains in the ass theater group way in which we behave. But my praise ends there. The food is so hit or miss — they’ve come out with a decent burger, as one would expect, but can ruin instant mashed potatoes. Yeah, instant mashed tatos, are sometimes good and sometimes suck… bizarre. The sandwiches are nothing special, same goes for apps, beer/drinks selection, décor, trivia night, and location right on the turnpike. This place is not inspiring. And considering it is a restaurant I expect better. They can’t make soup for crap either! I ordered French Onion and it was so salty I needed a overpriced and not original beer to wash it down! But I am glad it serves the need to go out after rehearsal and not talk about the show, and waste some time you really should be in bed and not drinking a beer considering you need to be on the train by 6.
