JEM construction just completed some renovation for my house. In a nutshell, very high quality work was delivered on time, and within budget. For any home owners who do not want to have their houses looking like a flipper’s work, the quality JEM offers is really dream work. Todd, the owner of JEM, is knowledgeable, hardworking, and very serious about his work. A perfectionist indeed, he takes it up to himself to go extra miles that far exceed my expectation. His attention to details goes throughout the whole construction process. To my happy realization, Todd works in my house as if he is treating his own, with utmost care, respect, and dedication– an admirable professional devotion that is not easily found nowadays.
Todd is extremely thorough not only during the construction, but also in his preparation of proposal. Among all 4 contractors I interviewed, Todd was the only one who climbed into the hot (over 100 degrees) and crowded attic, to check whether there would be any potential complications. He therefore provided a proposal which reflected the real situation most accurately comparing to others. Looking back, what Todd did was crucial for such a smooth construction, as we had least amount of surprises during the whole project period. His coordination with roofer, plumbers etc. were all seamless. Also as a result of this rigorous preparation, Todd never asked me for extra $ during the project.
Todd is always straightforward and honest, no BS at all. Consequently, we were able to have very open communications/​discussions. I trust and respect Todd’s opinions, which is a great feeling to work together.
Throughout the whole process, Todd is very considerate, and accommodating to my needs, many of which actually inconvenienced him a great deal. Yet he does it with a smile, and never complains. He is also very patient to answer all my questions, and proactively explains the works that have been going on. As a customer, I felt that I am truly cared for.
Another important thing is that Todd is very intelligent, creative and resourceful. These are not only from 40 years of experiences, but also the fact that Todd goes extra mile to think further, and work more, which sets him apart from countless others.
Last but not least, Todd is a very nice and pleasant person. He is warm, sincere, and considerate. If you are working with him, you are surely in great hands. (I almost do not want to write this review, as I want to keep him to me only ^^)

I never got to work with Todd cause I ended up going with a friend of a friend, but of all the contractors who bid for my project he was the most serious, responsible and decent one, and the prices seemed fair too.

Todd is a great guy who knows his stuff. Converted my garage into a soundproof music room and really worked with me on the budget. He puts a lot of thought into his work and was able to make adjustments and improvise when certain issues came up that we had to work around. I now have a jam room where I can play drums at 2am and the neighbors can’t hear a thing!
