Established in 1987.

Mountain View Tire and Auto Service was founded in 1987. Today, we employ about 300 people at stores all over southern California.

The customer is always number one at Mountain View Tire and Auto Service. Period.

In fact, our company was founded on the idea of providing experiences so positive that our customers would tell their friends and family about us and return themselves whenever they need tires or service.

It’s that commitment to our customers that earned us the title Tire Dealer of the Year from Modern Tire Dealer magazine in 2011. And in 2015, we were named one of only three Top Shop Finalists in the nation by TireReview.

This place is amazing! Every time I have gone into this business, they have been extraordinarily helpful. Whether it was a new set of breaks (no shaming me for the metal-​metal rotors!) to new tires, to having my child’s bicycle tire fixed, and this past month to their generosity helping some preschoolers with their Fun Run Obstacle Course! The management here is thorough, professional, amazing and prepared to go the extra mile. Thank you Mountain View!

I always stop by whenever I need an oil change since Im to lazy to do it myself. Fast and cheap service. I recommend this place if you have any problems with your car or need an oil change.

The staff is very helpful and the managers treat you with respect. I had a slow leak on my tire and asked if they could take a look. They did and let me know what the problem was after they had already fixed it and my car was ready to go. At no point did they try to nickel and dime or upsell, or waste my time. It was quality timely service and respectable customer care. Plus the area has literally over 2 dozen unique shops you can walk to while you wait.
And if you rate this place 2 stars because you know more about your OWN tires than the staff does, you should reconsider your disposition and your review.

Cars may be their expertise, but these lovely people fixed my bike chain while I was out on a casual Sunday ride with my wife. I stopped by to ask if they had a tool I could use and they gave me great customer service and I wasn’t even a customer! Thanks so much! 5 stars!

I came into the store because of a screw in the shoulder of a front tire.
The staff, specifically Liz, was exemplary in her actions by following the company’s rules. However, as a front desk person she should be aware of the guidelines on the time one can use tires. Michelin recommends that tire can be used for 10 years with regular inspections every year. Something I was aware of. Her not being to recognize the newness of the back tires and that the tires were well cared for. The front tires need to be repaired and or replaced. Which she did quickly and at a fair price.
However, her prickly demeanor seems to stem from a lack of confidence. I can see why she is in her position but needs some more confidence and more experience.

This is a long overdue review, but important enough to me that I kept reminding myself to post it.
These guys are wonderful! I had a very odd & frustrating situation with a new car (everything warranteed by the dealership but the tires, of course) and 2 of my new «run-​flat» tires had side-​wall bursts, for which Goodyear headquarters refused to take responsibility, despite clearly being 2 defective new tires (less than 1500 miles on the car). The guys at Mountain View went to bat for me… and helped argue with the Goodyear factory on my behalf until we arrived at a fair solution.
These guys are fair… and trustworthy! I’d very happily go to them again.

The managers here are rude and do not know what they are talking about. I tried to get an oil change at 2 in the afternoon on a Friday. I was told by the manager that it couldn’t be done since she only had one mechanic on duty and she didn’t want to work past 4. This was not only extremely rude but also unprofessional.
I reported this incident to the corporate office. They contacted me and offered a free oil change.
This place used to be good under old management. But the two female managers spend so much time putting their pictures all over the place, they can’t actually get any work done.

Have purchased tired before. The prices were lower than Costco and getting an appointment was much easier… Immediate.
Today I had a huge screw stuck in my tire. I took it in and they patched and repaired the tire for free. These were not even the tires I purchased from them.

$ 21.75 out the door for oil change, oil filter, 5 ars oil, tire rotations, air, fluids. 45 minutes. Nice, cool counter person with great eyebrows, cool nails. Spacious waiting area, centrally located so you can walk somewhere else for a bite to eat. Can’t beat it. Look for the discount coupon in your mailbox.

Dave from Mountainview called, apologizing for the inconvenience and assuring me that this will not happen again which I believe. Upon my next visit for an alignment, I will find out if the services have improved and if so, the rating will change. It’s good to see that a business cares about its customers.

Called them 3 days prior, wanted a custom alignment. Asked them 3 times over the phone if they do custom alignments, answered yes with assurance. Asked again prior to the alignment, said yes. Right before the cashier was about to have the mechanic start the alignment, I asked if I should write the specs down on a piece of paper, to which she responded by saying they already have specs for the car, and when I asked (the same person, by the way) what about the custom specs I was talking about, they were confused as if they didn’t even know the meaning of the word. That’s when I realized how incompetent they are, and left. They should hire people who know how alignments work, and also know what the word «custom» means.

Had a great experience here — even at closing time on a Sunday! Woke up to a flat tire and brought it over after Pep Boys in Hollywood’s failed attempt to fix it (the Pep Boys guy couldn’t find the leak and sent us on our way with an overinflated tire). The staff at Mountain View Tire took the time to find and fix the leak (they admitted it was very small) — whew! Really appreciated the prompt, polite, and friendly service and I will definitely come back!
