I totally recommend this fine company, without reservation. I have used their services and so have friends I’ve referred to them. All of us are very impressed with the way they do business. They call if they are running late, they don’t stick you with extra services you could do without. Their work is always exceptional.

I had originally called Mauerhan to install a toilet. I left it up to them and it came to almost $ 1,000 installed. Now I appreciate a good dump as much as the next guy but I don’t know if I needed a $ 500 Toto UltraMax II. I also don’t know exactly how much I paid for the stupid thing since it was bundled in with the labor (I’m guessing around $ 750) but that’s what I paid for another one shortly thereafter for my other bathroom (I’m a huge fan of the UMII and another plumber told me to buy the toilet myself and call them to install it)
When I needed a new water heater I called Lowes and Mauerhan and chose to deal with a local plumber instead. $ 4,000 for a tankless water heater sounded a bit excessive but it was in inline with Lowes. Without time to deal with it or shop around I went ahead and the unit has been working flawlessly. As a small business owner I can appreciate the costs of running a business but it wasn’t that big of a deal to install it.
One thing that did upset me was that they did not leave the wrench to change the descaler filter but rather told me to call them annually to have it replaced. Turns out they are available on Amazon for $ 5 plus the filter but I was a bit unhappy that the tool wasn’t left as I paid for it. It takes about 5 minutes to turn off the water, unplug the heater, open a faucet to relieve the pressure, replace the filter, turn the water back on, close the faucet and plug the heater back in; the job doesn’t really justify calling a turd wrangler.
Had I been told I would need to purchase a $ 75 filter every year (web price… not Mauerhan) I would have probably opted for a tank as I figure I’m only saving about $ 5/​mo in gas with the tankless and that math doesn’t work.
In short the work is excellent but I was left feeling a bit battered and bloody each time with the charges. On the other hand there’s certainly value in having the work done properly and I can’t fault them for that.

I fired my plumber on Wednesday, my millwork guy recommended I talk to Bruce at Mauerhan Plumbing. I called Bruce and he had a plumber available for that Friday. The other plumber wanted more than $ 1100 to finish the work not including the tub install. The two guys Bruce sent out (Eddie and Jonathan) installed a drop-​in acrylic tub (set in a mortar base), installed the tub spout and trim, connected the tub drain and overflow, set the drop in sink with valves and drain, installed the showerhead and valve trim, installed the toilet everything caulked, grouted, connected and functioning at the end of a 7 ½ hour day and charged me only $ 782.16. His guys had a good attitude and were very professional and knowledgeable.

First off I want to say from my experience yesterday I was very happy with Mauerhan Plumbing.
Look, Plumbing is one of those mystic arts & to us folks who are Plumbing illiterate, we always feel were being over charged or not communicated with effectively. I felt they #1 communicated with me very well, cleaned up a big mess (I had black oil/​sludge all over the outside of the area they were working on) They also found a potential big problem and fixed it then and there. Was it cheep well no, but could the problem have been twice as bad and twice the price if they had not found the problem YES !
Overall finding a good honest Plumber is challenging in LA, but I think I fond my guys, I rather good, honest and efficient, and pay a tad more then cheep and crapy !
They are going to work on another job for me next week, so let’s see how that goes, if they are 2 for 2 then they will definitely be a keeper !

A plumbing issue to the rescue! At my girlfriends house this weekend with major water issues! Glad I didn’t read these reviews before asking a neighbor! Thank you mauerhan guys!!! Problem resolved for a reasonable price, more importantly with a quickness! would call them again, hopefully there’s no reason to.

I’m not sure what everyone else has against Maurerhan Plumbing, but this company has always been good and honest towards me and my business. I would and do recommend them to friends and family. If you’re lucky enough to get Bruce then you’ve got «THE MAN.»

Sorry to read those other reviews. but they could not be talking about the Mauerhan Plumbing. in Glendale. These guys are super efficient. they come in and get the job done. Been using them for years and I’ve always recommended them to my friends. They show up in the time frame that they say they will, and they would never leave the building unless the problem is fixed. They clean up all the mess and then some. I can not single any one particular plumber out, because they are all good. Also if there is a concern that you may have, the owner Bruce is always available to come out on site and deal with it hands on. Last not but least the two receptionist Gerry & Rhonda is always so pleasant when you call, they always make you feel like you are the 1^st. priority! I can go on & on saying great things about this company, but I think you get the jist. Whoever felt like they had a bad experience. give them another try. They are worth it!

so upset. I had them come out to ‘fix a leaky faucet’…the guy came out and struggled with my kitchen faucet to open it up. then said he needed a special cartridge and would have to come back. also said that he would need to bring a 2^nd guy with him to ‘straighten’ my faucet which was not crooked before he got here and wrestled with it. cut to I get the special cartridge myself and they send out another plumber to finish. this guy was definitely more on it than the first guy but explained that my marble countertop was cracked and that the faucet would just have to lean like that. now i’m calling a 3^rd plumber to come out and fix their work. oh and they charged me $ 250+

Poor customer service. They often overcharge for jobs. They are VERY messy and don’t clean up after themselves. They get the job done, but as stated are not focused on customer service or leaving the customer happy. It amazes me how companies like this stay in business

They quoted me «$ 85 an hour, one hour minimum.» The plumber worked for 40 minutes, took 10 minutes to write the invoice, then presented, with a straight face, an invoice that charged me for 2 hours plus a $ 15 truck charge. When I questioned it he said «I added a 20 minute drive charge to get to you, plus we round up to the nearest hour and we always charge a $ 15 truck charge. Didn’t they tell you?» Nope, they didn’t. When I complained they reduced it to 1.5 hours, but kept the truck charge. I decided to pay the bill, but post on Unilocal
