Boyd W Flinders, MD

March 29, 1991 Dr. Flinders repaired my left knee from a ruptured patella tendon and almost 25 years later I am still intact. I felt confident that I was on the way to recovery after that surgery. Unfortunately the same thing just occurred to my right knee a week ago and since Dr. Flinders is not in my HMO insurance Medical Group etc I cannot see him or I would gladly seek his services.

I was referred to Dr. Flinders in 1993. I had foolishly injured my back in college (1980) and by 1993, I was in constant, unbearable pain. Over the years, I had been to doctors and physical therapists who basically told me I had chronic lower back pain and needed to live with it. On my first visit to Dr. Flinders, he told me that he believed I was in pain and he would work to take my pain away. He did so… when I awakened from my surgery, my pain was gone. I was up on my feet and back to work within 1−½ months of the surgery. Dr. Flinders was kind, attentive, took the time to explain everything to me, visited me in the hospital & listened to my concerns and requests. I went on to have two children and 20 years later, my back is great! Dr. Flinders not only saved my life, he gave my life back to me. I would recommend him in a heartbeat! His staff was wonderful, too!

I had the unfortunate experience of going to Dr. Flinders 25 years. ago for severe degenerative disc disease. He never sat and explained anything to me about my options. All he ever did was write me a couple Rx’s for cortisone. He’s is more interested in making money than the welfare of his patients. I am telling you the honest truth. Do not ever let this man do any major surgery on you. He’s is not a Excel doc because he does not have the qualifications of a good surgeon. I can tell you for a fact when I stayed more than 15 minutes in his «exam room» he charged me and my insurance company for extended visits meaning double fees for the visit. What doctor does that? Don’t believe everything in his Bio about how he volunteered his time as an orderly before he got his medical license. Bottom line your are dealing with a so called specialist with a primary focus of charging patients and insurance companies as much as possible. BTW the review above me giving him 5 stars for looking at a persons broken finger for $ 80 is ridiculous. Any basic GP can do the same thing. My review above is 100% the truth!!!

Dr Flinders is one of the few doctors left who really care about the patient. He was great, he explained to me in details what I needed to do with my broken finger and since I don’t have insurance, he charged me only $ 80. I called many other orthopedics and they all asked me for $ 300, even $ 500 for a first visit.
His staff was very kind and helpful. LA needs more doctors like him.
