Mark M Mikhael, MD

My interaction with Dr. Mikhael was not positive at all. After waiting over 1 hour past my appointment time, the doctor spent less than 10 minutes with me. He was rude, uninformed, and didn’t take anytime to ask questions. I had fractured my ankle and completely tore several ligaments. I was referred to Dr. Mikhael for a second opinion. I had been in casts for 4 months with no improvement. His recommendation… to stay in a cast for another 2 months. Not my idea of good doctoring. I am off to find a «2^nd» second opinion. I will not be returning to this practice.

Could not have been worse. This «doctor» should not be practicing medicine. He has no manners whatsoever. No common courtesy. No ability to communicate re the status of the medical issue at hand. Do not recommend at all. Look elsewhere! There are other, more qualified, specialists in the area! In addition, the office (OSS) is extremely unorganized and constantly overbooks patients. They rarely run on-​time and they do not validate for parking. They overcharge for their services — so look at your bill closely. They have so many people working at the office — keep note of who you spoke with and when. The turnover in their office is crazy and multiple people will touch your account. That, in itself, is quite concerning.

Sadly my experience at the office of Dr. Mark Mikhael was quite upsetting. He was horribly unprofessional and unhelpful. The office staff was unorganized and very scattered. There was no communication directly with me about my situation and I had to ask multiple questions in order to obtain any information. I waited a long time to see him and he spent a few minutes with me. Then, I received a substantial bill that wasn’t even for the «services» rendered. I brought in documents from a previous medical facility and that information was lost or discarded by Dr. Mark Mikhael’s office. I cannot stress enough how uncomfortable and unpleasant the visit was. This lack of care and service will not be tolerated.

I feel incredibly lucky to have seen Dr Mark for my broken ankle so I’m writing this to help others choose the right orthopedist. Mark IS the right guy. I had a fractured malleolus and talus, along with all my lateral ligaments torn. Doc got me walking exactly two months after the operation. Of course everyone heals differently but there’s no way I’d be this far along in rehab if Dr Mark hadn’t done an absolute bang-​up job in the operation. He’s thorough, kind, and best of all responsive to any questions you have along the way as he remains reachable via email.

There are two things I look for in a doctor (aside from obvious things… like a medical degree… not treating patients out of the back of a Plymouth… things like that); full attention and a sense of humor. Dr Mikhael has both in spades. He NEVER rushes me when he’s in the room. He’ll answer any question, no matter how ridiculous OR how many different times I ask it («So…I have to wear this boot?» «Yes» «Like, every day?» «Yes» «Every day, every day?» «Every day, every day» «Even in Vegas this weekend??» «Your call, but I’d say yes»). I can also be a little wacky from time-​to-​time, and bless his heart if he doesn’t hang through (and even sometimes laugh at) every stupid thing I say. Before Dr Mikhael, I was bouncing around town trying to find someone (ANYONE) to treat my ankle injury. Nobody could figure out what it was. A sprain! (wrong) Achilles tendonitis! (nope) A stress fracture! (please stop) I was being misdiagnosed left and right and the condition was worsening. Just as I was starting to lose hope of EVER feeling better, I found Dr Mikhael. As soon as he looked at my MRI, he knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. I’m on day 2 of my treatment but I can say this… after 3 months of not being able to sleep through the night without being woken up by the pain, I slept a solid 8 last night. Love this guy. Love. This. Guy.

There are not enough words to describe how much my wife and I adore Dr Mark!!! Met him after being referred to OSS in January 2015 following a tear to my quadriceps tendon. Given the nature of the injury, I had been advised by several people that surgery needed to be as soon as possible. Usually my wife likes to do her research before rushing into anything as major as surgery, so it says much about the person Dr Mark is that he put all her concerns to rest within the 1^st 5 minutes of my consultation visit and she decided that he would be the one to do the surgery! Dr Mark was very knowledgeable, knew exactly what surgery I required and took the time to explain everything to us while patiently answering the many questions my wife had. His bedside manner is a rarity seen nowadays and was greatly appreciated at a time my wife and I were very concerned about the impact this injury would have on my very active lifestyle. We knew we had been fortunate to have him as a surgeon when he came to see me in the pre-​op area prior to the surgery and proceeded to make us laugh by saying how my surgery was 1 of his favorite surgeries to do !!! Dr Mark exceeded any and all expectations we had, and we cannot say «Thank you» enough (but we’ll try!). Thanks Dr Mark!

Dr. Mikhael is a great surgeon who took on my injury with very short notice and provided outstanding service. He was recommended to me by the ER after I slid out on my motorcycle and nearly amputated my toe. He agreed to see me right away and explained with great knowledge and clarity the kind of procedure I required. He also explained the high risk of infection in this type of injury and took action to prevent any from spreading. Through out the follow ups to surgery the Dr. and his staff have had patience, respect, kindness, clarity, and understanding. I would recommend Dr. Mikhael to anyone I can not thank him enough.

By far one of the worst places to go for a foot injury. So many bad things about this place. Good luck to anyone that goes here.

Dr Mark Mikhael is seriously an angel from heaven that walks around the earth among the rest of us! Thank the skies above for him.
I want to share a quick story about Dr Mark and the man he really is. I was 19 years old snowboarding up in big bear for a friend’s bday. A really bad storm had hit and I went down a jump and unable to se my landing I shattered my T9 vertebrae and was instantly paralyzed. I was broke my ribs and barely conscious. As a spinal cord injury they usually air lift you to the hospital but due to the weather I was had no choice but to go by ambulance to Loma Linda where I met Mark. He was a resident surgeon at the time and told me that they would be me into emergency surgery that night. The fused my vertebrae and prevented any more damage from happening. Mark also noticed an infection after my first surgery and literally saved my life. We have actually become very good friends over the years and I couldn’t speak more highly of this kindred soul!

In October of 2014 I was involved in a very serious car accident, which left me in the hospital for three months. As you can imagine, I have seen my fair share of Doctors!
Dr. Mikhael is absolutely one of my favorites. His staff greets you with a smile, are extremely helpful and very kind. Dr. Mikhael himself is FANTASTIC. He is incredibly knowledgable & skillful, and has top notch bedside manner.
Part of my follow up, was receiving a screw out of my ankle. I decided not to go under and was understandably nervous. Dr. Mikhael puts his patient at ease and is very gentle. He kept the energy in the room very light and positive. The procedure was painless and an overall positive memory.
All in all, every time I go into Dr. Mikhael’s office, I leave with a smile. If you are looking for an incredible Doctor who cares, he is your guy!

I recently dropped a 45 lbs weight on my ankle and needed an orthopedic doctor pretty quickly. His nurses were able to set me up within a couple days. Their office staff is very nice and extremely quick on getting patients in and out of there. Dr Mikhael himself was super nice and definitely well educated, which is a big plus these days because I feel as if most doctors aren’t. I would 100% recommend him to anyone!

I went to see Dr Mikhael for a bunion problem. He was very thorough and helpful in his exam. He used state of the art ultra sound. The doctor I went to before didn’t use it. When I brought up other ailments I have with my ankle, he immediately took an X-​ray and helped with that problem. I would recommend him to anyone with foot and ankle problems.
