Berg Feinfield TLC Vision Correction

I had PRK surgery about a year ago by Dr. Berg. I wasn’t a candidate for LASIK. I had worn glasses for over thirty years (near sighted). Well all I can say is the results of my surgery are AMAZING! When I sat up from the surgery table I looked around and could see EVERYTHING! Instant results. Seriously the best decision I could have made. Dr. Berg is very mild mannered, his office manager Kelly is fantastic. The procedure itself was very quick. The only «discomfort» was my fear of having my eyes propped open. No pain at all, just errie knowing that my eyes were being worked on. There is a Dr. Lee who works with him who I didn’t find to have a very good bedside manner. If she had been the Dr. performing the surgery, I would have gone with another practice.
It was about ten days of healing. Day five I think was the worst as far as pain went. It was due to the fact that I had to wear a protective contact lens, which by that point felt like dry dry sand in my eyes. I did have the basic predictable healing (light sensitivity, dry eyes, halos at night). All of that went away within a month. As for now I just try to be sure to use lubricating eye drops twice a day (even though my eyes don’t feel dry).
I highly recommend Dr. Berg!

I had my eyes lasered here last January. They were so nice and professional I felt totally comfortable. Going back next month for my one year complimentary eye exam to keep my insurance for the lasik valid. My vision has been perfect ever since! Quick and painless !

So rude on the phone every time I call! Omg they make me feel like crap for needing assistance.
Also every time I’ve gone in, I’ve had to wait and wait and wait.
Also, their equipment is nasty and oily from other people’s faces! They don’t wipe them down!

I received Lasik from Dr. Berg in August 2015. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I had the best experience I could have asked for! I can’t tell you how crazy it is to be able to wake up in the morning and see clearly after spending the majority of my life in contacts/​glasses. The whole process, from consultation to surgery follow-​up, took about three weeks. Things got done so quickly and smoothly with Dr. Berg’s practice I couldn’t believe it. Everything was explained thoroughly, from what I should expect, how the procedure works, what my payment options were, etc. Dr. Berg and his staff were incredibly kind and knowledgeable, clearly having a lot of experience under their belt. The doctor sat with me for the entire procedure and explained what was happening, which goes a long way in helping with pre-​surgery anxiety. With their help, I’m looking forward to a life without a cabinet full of contact solution bottles and eyeglass cases. Thanks again to Dr. Berg and his wonderful staff!

I went in for a free consultation to see if I was a good candidate for LASIK and I passed with flying colors. Then following two weeks after I had to procedure and it feels amazing to see without the need of my glasses anymore. The surgery was quick and easy, didn’t feel a thing! So far I’ve yet to have any pain but my eyes do feel a little ‘scratchy’ but they give you plenty of eyedrops to follow up with that. Now, here I am the following day after writing a review just to let everyone know how good I feel. It’s funny I just can’t stop laughing sometimes to because I’m seeing things without my glasses. If you live in the general area and you’re close by this is by far the best place to have eye correction. Would definately recommend it to all my friends and any one else who wants to live a ‘Glasses/​Contacts’ free life!

My wife had an eye infection so we saw Dr. Finefield. He was abrupt, condescending and boarder line rude. She was breastfeeding our newborn son so when he prescribed her the medication, she specifically asked him if she could use this medicine while breastfeeding. He made a face as if to say, «that is a stupid question» and said she could take the medicine while breastfeeding. So we drive to the pharmacy and get the medication. After paying our $ 20 for the medicine we immediately see «DO NOT USE IF PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING» in bold print on the bottle! We never used the medicine. This arrogant jerk was also totally ignorant! Not a good combo for a doctor. Her eye ended up clearing up on its own within a day or two, so I went back to his office and politely asked to see him. After much resistance from his staff, they finally let me speak with him. The waiting room was crowded with people, many were waiting to have this jerk operate on their eyeballs. I politely explained he had erroneously prescribed medicine for my wife that she was unable to take and I asked that my insurance not be charged for the visit because we were worse off for having come to see him. Worse off because we completely wasted our time and money due to his lack of knowledge in a field where he is supposed to be an expert. He failed to provide her with the competent medical care we expected to receive and as a result, he should not be compensated. I showed him the warning label on the bottle and asked if he remembered laughing when my wife asked him if she could take the medicine while breastfeeding. Instead of acknowledging his obvious mistake and apologizing, he looked at me like I was crazy and said, «I don’t have time for this» and he walked away. It was then that I went out into the crowded waiting room and announced in a loud, official sounding voice, «Dr. Feinfield is incompetent» before I turned and left. I’m sure more than a few wondered if they should go forward with the surgery, considering someone just made an official sounding announcement that the doctor they were trusting with their eyesight was incompetent.

Doctor Veil is specular! Very thorough and patient. No validated parking but there is free 2hour street parking, good enough for the wait and eye check process.
Customers here are mostly seniors.
The receptions does a good job in letting me know that there is a usual wait. I waited only 30min.
Staff is superb. Great listeners. Docyor Veiling did the whole eye exam, dry eye test and etc. Looking forward to getting my glass and contact checked next time because its a different doctor appt.
So glad my insurance overhead this place. They take credit card.

I had a followup appointment with Dr. Yates (I have never seen either Berg or Feinfeld) for some rather serious eye issues. Less than twenty-​four hours before that appointment I got a call from the receptionist telling me that Dr. Yates would need to reschedule. Fine, I said. When can she see me? Well, Dr. Yates is only going to be in the office half a day a month from then on, and her next available appointment was in six weeks. No suggestion that I might see one of the other doctors, no questions about how I was doing, nothing. So I hang up and start looking for another ophthalmologist.
Dr. Yates? I guess she’s okay. With some doctors you leave their office impressed by their knowledge, professionalism, thoroughness and interest in you as a patient and as a person. I never quite got that feeling with Dr. Yates. As others have commented, she can be a bit condescending.
What I will say is that overall the Berg Feinfeld practice feels (as another reviewer has suggested) rather like a factory. First you wait in the outer reception area watching expensively produced videos on a large screen in which the senior doctors tell you how great they are and how eager you should be to have them operate on you. Then you see a medical assistant who does a preliminary exam, after which you are escorted into a much less glamorous inner waiting room (no large screen video here, thank God) where you sit — and sit — and sit. It’s one of those sorts of places…

I CAN SEE!!! Thank you Dr. Berg! He did my PRK surgery in March and I am very happy with the results. He and his finance staff are very sweet and answered my numerous questions and concerns in depth. I even called back throughout the first week after my consultation with more questions and they were more than happy to get back to me. Dr. Berg then walked me through my surgery and recovery process so that I would know exactly what to expect. He even warned me that my sight would still be evolving for the first three months after my surgery and that I should not grow concerned if it was a bit strained in the beginning. He was right. Three months after my surgery I now stabilized to ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision. I did read some of the comments regarding the reception staff being rude and I personally did not experience that. It wasn’t like they were a concierge desk or anything but they did remain professional at all times. I’m very pleased with my results and would refer Dr. Berg to family and friends.

Just called to get an «average cost» figure for a Lasic surgery for my son since I got mine there some years ago and was happy with the Dr. And the Result… But the lady who answers the phone was so rude… Would not give me ANY information and quite frankly is driving customers away… since she was so closed lipped about things I have to search elsewhere and so I will… But wished my son could have got the same result and care that I did fr a very good Dr…

TLC Laser Eye Center is a scam. Do not go.
I got my eyes done by TLC Laser Eye Center around 2005. I paid for the ‘free upgrade’ if my vision changed.
Well, they «lost» my records after the office I went to closed/​moved. So guess what? No free upgrade. Instead, just stole my money and gave me the run around. I called at least three different places trying to get someone to help me.
I saw Dr. Berg, he pretty much laughed at me for even coming in to get my eyes checked. Uhm, my vision CHANGED. I woke up one day and everything was blurry. So… not cool to make fun of me just because my vision isn’t ‘horrible’. I paid thousands of dollars to have it fixed and it’s not fixed any more.
Terrible. DO NOT GO DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY.

So Dr. Berg was my second consultation appointment regarding LASIK and after I kept looking for a third option. But after being referred here by an actual patient and two optometrist I knew I couldn’t go wrong with him. I got my surgery done on 5÷15÷15 the procedure was super quick and Dr. Berg talked me through it all. The next day as I’m going to my follow up I realized I can see clearly!!! It was such an emotional moment for me as I constantly had to squint (I was nearsighted) and focus to see street signs. For days I would be amazed at how good my vision was! Now 2 ½ weeks later my vision is great! Thank you Dr. Berg!

I had been wanting to have LASIK vision correction done for YEARS now and after some time I finally gave in and consulted my primary Optometrist Dr. Eisenberg from Warner Center Optometry. He gave me Dr. Berg’s information and I immediately scheduled a free consult.

Anyway, I went in for a free consult and everyone was very nice and accommodating, I love that because medical procedures can be so daunting but the office made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Dr. Berg himself was very warm and welcoming that I did not feel scared being in a medical office at all. Also keep in mind, I’m a nurse and you would think I would be used to being in medical offices, which I am, but having things done to my own body scares the hell out of me, especially when it’s my eyes!
The consult was basically a more thorough eye exam, a talk with Dr. Berg of what the procedure is like, and a talk with the office manager for pre & post-​op info as well as the financial side of things. I opted to apply for Care Credit, got approved right away and scheduled my surgery that same day. That’s how much I liked Dr. Berg and his staff! I scheduled my surgery just two weeks after my consult at the Sherman Oaks location. I was given various instructions to be done prior to surgery and I just followed everything to a T.
The day of the surgery went VERY quickly. I got there an hour early, got prepped, headed into the surgery room and was probably done in less than 15 minutes. I did NOT feel a thing. I didn’t smell any burning smells either! Dr. Berg talked to me the whole time and would tell me everything he was doing and that made me feel at ease. The day after I went back to Dr. Berg for my post-​op exam and was told that I now have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision!!! I am SO HAPPY I went to Dr. Berg to have my eyes done, after everything he even told me that even though my optometrist is gonna see me from now on, that they will be available for me always. I really appreciated that also.
Fast forward to 5 days later, I am still using the antibiotic and anti-​inflammatory eye drops I’m supposed to use for a week and my vision is still amazing. No dryness, no weird complications, I can see fine at night except for a little brightness from lights but nothing bothersome which I was told will subside (it’s only been a few days since my surgery), and it’s just amazing vision!

I would Highly recommend Dr. Berg. I was very satisfied with his work he is a great doctor!!!

The idea of doing laser surgery on my eyes TERRIFIED me beyond description. But I wanted to be contacts– and glasses-​free so badly, and Dr. Berg made me feel right away that I was in very very good hands. I have now had perfect vision for over a year, no complications. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. The best part is waking up each morning and not having to reach for my glasses as soon as I open my eyes. I can’t imagine having gone to anyone else for this delicate and life-​changing procedure. VERY VERY VERY HAPPY.

Sadly as much as I like Dr Feinfield I have moved on. The appointments are scheduled very poorly-​I have waited over an hour to be seen. This is not a one time problem– it is the norm. Obviously the patient is not the first priority-​shame on them!

Came to Dr. Berg, in his Sherman Oaks location, as a referral from my eye doctor. Initially had planned on visiting a few doctors to do some comparison, but once I finished my consultation, I just decided to book my appointment.
Friendly (not counting the ladies at the counter when you check in) and knowledgeable staff. The lady that did the initial computerized tests, the lady that did the other eye tests and Dr. Berg were very friendly, discussed things in detail and made me feel very comfortable. Then you go into this room where yet another person discusses the procedure, pricing and options (extra fee for lifetime warranty). She, too, was knowledgeable and didn’t try to ‘sell’ me.
The procedure went fast and all as was explained to me. I went home and once I woke up from my 5 hour nap, I COULD SEE! Went to my eye doctor as expected and noticed a slight blur in my right eye which is my dominant eye. After 3 months of having the .75 difference, Dr. Berg’s office went ahead and scheduled my touch up which I had on July 30, 2014. I can now see ²⁰⁄₁₅ and have had no issues since.
Unlike other reviewers, I didn’t experience the long wait times or any other issues. Due to the nature of this procedure, I didn’t mind the cost especially since Dr. Berg uses the latest technology. They did try to charge me again for the drops that you need after surgery because I’d need them again after the touch up surgery and I stupidly threw what I had left away. I asked my eye doctor if he would give me a prescription but he went ahead and gave me the drops for free! Other than that, it was a great experience working with Dr. Berg and his team and I would recommend him to anyone.

WOW never, ever will I walk back into this office. It’s a shame, because maybe feinfield and Berg are okay doctors, but their staff and Yates pull this place into the ground. I was a new patient and the receptionist Lupe had me come in to see Yates. I waited a couple minutes in the lobby, but then I had to wait over an hour in the room. While I was waiting, I went on Unilocal to read some reviews about this place, and come to realize everyone else on here also experienced the same situation with Yates! She was «behind schedule» and the ladies kept telling me, ten more min, ten more min,… Well it was over 85 min and finally I went in the hall and said what is going on!!! Luckily, they told me Dr feinfield will see right now instead (and to tell you the truth, that made me happy bc from these reviews and what I was hearing in the hall, I didn’t want Yates to be my Dr anymore). So I was in for a couple minutes and he prescribes me an eye drop. Two min with the Dr for an hr and half wait. And then I had to deal with MARCINA, one of the receptionists. She was totally condescending. I’m having some hardships right now and don’t have insurance, so when she asked for the bill I asked if I can make payments or bill me. Her mind went into a tailspin over it and she kept saying WITH EXTREME ATTITUDE :“Oh did no one tell you were going to responsible for paying today? You just assumed we were gonna bill you?. «You know, yes, I assumed that, JUST like how I assumed a competent doctor would see me at a reasonable time and not have me waiting for an hour and a half!!! The fact of how rude she was about it. No one in a front desk position should be treating patients like that. It’s almost unbelievable, considering how many girls they have at the front desk and yet none of them show compassion or sensitivity to private matters, and especially if they overhear a coworker being rude to a patient, something needs to be done!
It gets worse… When I went to pick up my prescription the pharmacists asks, (knowing I don’t have insurance) «did the Dr tell you how much this medication costs?» Yeah of course not… add that on top of everything else…
I also had to call back later on because the Dr didn’t write how long I’m supposed to use the eye drop, but the Dr was out to lunch so they said they’d call me back. Well after an hour and half I called in and I got another receptionist — maybe it was marcina again, sounded like she said Christina– and she said to take it 7 – 10 days which sounded absurd to me cause it’s like an antibiotic and I read you’re not to over take it or it can damage your eyes, when I asked her to clarify she got really rude and short with me. A half hr or so later and now another receptionist calls me, and this one actually sounded pleasant, and tells me she spoke to the Dr and he said for 5 – 7 days. Look at that! I told this lady about the other chick but of course they don’t care, they save each other’s backs.
Oh and did I mention that Dr feinfield also had another person’s chart instead of mine! The receptionists also messed that up.
Bottom line: if you’re having eye problems and think seeing a Dr who specializes in ophthalmology is going to give you more care and time with your situation; THINK AGAIN!

I am 5 years post Lasik Wavefront surgery and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. Dr. Berg not only is an expert in the field, which is why I chose him to perform my procedure (look at his many professor and specialized trainings he’s been chosen for and the many successful surgeries he’s completed), but he also was very thoughtful, comforting and explained the procedure throughout.
The best thing of course though is the result, 5 years later my vision remains ²⁰⁄₁₅ and ²⁰⁄₂₀! I have experienced many new things that I would not have tried when inconvenienced by contacts such as zip lining, go Kart racing, Hiking and extended snorkeling excursions, and next year I am skydiving for the first time and running my first ½ marathon without contacts!
After speaking to numerous people that weren’t as happy as I was about their procedure with other doctors, I felt it was important to let people know that Dr. Alan Berg is an excellent choice for your Lasik procedure! Choose only the best for your eyes, it was worth every cent and I am thrilled with my results.
