Outstanding service by Dr. Sargi and his staff. He meticulously corrected the work by a previous dentist. I highly recommend him for this calm demeanor, professionalism, and mostly for his honesty.

My family and several friends have been going to Dr. Sarji for more than a decade. He is the most honest, reasonably priced, detailed and informed dentist out there. We always get compliments on our teeth (crowns and veneers). When we moved further away, we tried couple of other dentist, but after one crown falling out, we immediately got back to Dr. Sarji.
Pros:
He is a dedicated and thorough professional who will do anything possible to preserve your teeth and to suggest best procedures.
Nice, big office, right next to F train stop.
He is very much informed and enthusiastic about all the new technology and procedures. If you ask him, he is happy to explain what are all of those machines.
Willing to negotiate and help with any insurance issues.
Three of us, never had any problem or side effects with his work. We are talking many crowns, root canals etc.
If you need a tooth extraction, Dr. Sarji does it with no pain and fast (no need for toxic total anesthesia).
Even most complicated stuff was resolved with excellent results. He honestly tell you if something is not his expertise and recommend an expert.
Cons:
Dr. Sarji is sometimes hard to understand, but won’t get annoyed if you ask him to repeat. Also, as many great talents in their field, his desire for perfect results can sometimes seem to trump your desire for comfort or esthetics. At the end, he is always right, but don’t be afraid to ask questions.
While never rude, administrative staff is not very professional or knowledgeable: They forget to remind you of appointments, they will send you several bills without making an effort to keep calling the insurance, they are often confused and have to call Dr. Sarji so that he can explain to them what to do. Always check with your insurance and keep track of all the expenses. They are not dishonest, just lazy.
Dr. Sarji has bad handwriting, make sure you write down prescribed medications, to avoid confusion at the pharmacy.

Dr Sarji is the best dentist I have ever been to. I had a root canal and 4 porcelain sleeves done by him. He takes pride in doing a good job and does not over charge. He is precise, to the point and very good at what he does. My mouth looks and feels better than it ever has. My husband who has had difficulty finding a dentist he trusts is also seeing Dr Sarji for implants and couldn’t be happier with the work so far.

Told us they were checking our insurance, and only AFTER the procedure informed us that they don’t accept it. When asked why, they said the person in the backoffice was out that morning. We’re out $ 350 on his unethical behavior, and needless to say, will not return, regardless of future insurance status. Stay away.

I have been to many dentists and usually feel over charged and misled. I went to to Dr Sarji because my previous dentist told me I needed a root canal and I wanted a 2^nd opinion. Dr Sarji confirmed the diagnosis and I decided to have Dr. Sarji do the root canal. I am so happy I did! Dr Sarji saw me over thanksgiving weekend. His office is clean and well appointed. His manner is to the point and the procedure was painless and fast. His prices are reasonable and I definitely did not feel like he was trying to sell any unnecessary treatments. As long as I live in Park Slope Dr Sarji will be my dentist and I highly recommend him and the rest of his staff.

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Sarji and his partner for years. I’ve always liked Dr. Sarji; as far as I can tell he’s a very skilled dentist. And I’ve appreciated his Saturday hours and pleasant, personable, chair-​side manner. His office is clean, and full of state-​of-​the-​art equipment. But there have been problems. They farmed out my wife’s root canal to a specialist who after several pain filled visits was unable to complete the procedure. That charged us for a copay for a visit that had been cancelled well in advance. And Dr. Sarji’s front office staff have made 2 mistakes with copays for her. Overcharges of course. They’ve apologized for the «miscalculations». And with me they booked me for a procedure with an oral surgeon. At the time I made the appointment, they said my copays were done for the year. The night before the appointment they call and say that there are 2 copays due for the procedure, totally over $ 300! Again, I like the doctor, but a bad recommendation and 4 mistakes with the insurance has me thinking about finding somebody else.

Dr. Sarji is the best dentist there is. He’s talented, kind, and provides the most professional service to his patients. I could never go to another dentist after Sarji.

Dr. Sarji is all you could ever ask for in a dentist. He is genuinely caring about his patients’ needs and concerns, is extremely knowledgeable, and does his job thoroughly each time. I couldn’t recommend a better dentist.

Dr. Sarji and his associate, Dr. Constantyn are great dentists and I’ve had nothing but excellent care from both. Dr. Sarji has all the latest, most cutting edge dental technology and is keen on staying on top of the best that’s out there… I recently needed an emergency root canal (as in, NOW!) and was taken well care of, immediately. My boyfriend’s now a patient as well.

Dr. Sarji is one of the best dental providers I have ever met. He is honest, straightforward and presents his recommendations for therapy without any gimmicks. His staff are incredibly sweet and the location is spotless!
I have referred a few friends of mine to him and they are all raving about his work and clean office.

Been going to Dr. Sarji for many years, then he moved from his original location to a bigger, newer place with additional staff. On one visit, without notification, I was pawned off onto one of his associates who worked on me three different times, making matters worst each time, until I said I would only see Dr. Sarji, who corrected my discomfort.
PLEASE NOTE: Dr. Sarji is VERY difficult to understand, always been that way, so be prepared to ask him to repeat himself time and time again and since it’s PARK SLOPE, parking is VERY difficult. If you’re driving, be prepared to circle the block looking for an empty space multiple times. BTW, the office will NOT tell you when parking is most difficult in their neighborhood. All on your shoulders.
Last month, I scheduled an appointment for a check-​up and cleaning. No one called to confirm and I forgot about it. Had another appointment today and again, received no reminder call, something that’s always happened in the past.
I arrived ten minutes early for my 2:45 pm appointment and was told my insurance had elapsed. What??? Why was I only hearing about it now wtih my appointment in a few minutes??? It was a clerical error by my provider, which after multiple phone calls I was able to correct with my union insurance provider, but now it was 3:15 pm. His staff seemed rather indifferent by my predicament, as if, well… this is the way we do business here. We just don’t care.
Since I’d been going to this dentist for so many years, I asked to speak to Dr. Sarji to let him know I had received no calls on my cell (I showed them my cell phone ‘recent calls’), but he insisted if his staff recorded it on their log, it was done. He also had no explanation why it’s acceptable to show up for an appointment and be told I had no insurance, wasting my time. But Dr. Sarji didn’t want to hear it. He said I was wasting HIS time by letting him know about this bad customer service.
If you’re looking for someone who cares, for a staff that will provide great CARING customer service and a dental staff that know how to appropriately treat their patients, look somewhere else. You won’t find it here.

I have been Dr. Jim Sarji’s patient for over 2 years and I have found him to be an excellent dentist and a very personable man who really cares about his patients. When I first met hm I was suffering from an abscess under one of my molars and I went to Park Slope to find another dentist who has been recommended to me. That dentist was closed and Google maps showed me that the nearest alternative dentist was Advanced Gentle Dentistry.
Dr. Sarji dealt with my initial problem swiftly and efficiently and after the treatment he asked me if I would like an estimate regarding further treatment. At this point I should tell you that my mouth was a disaster area with many old crowns either fallen off or on their way, decay under many of the others, and about 6 – 8 teeth already dead and buried.
I had previously been treated at the NYU College of Dentistry in Manhattan and in fact they had given me a quote for full mouth restoration. I thought it wouldn’t hurt to get a second opinion and a second estimate and so Dr Sarji took a full set of x-​rays and performed a full examination. He then gave me an estimate which was very competitive and he also pointed out that he would perform all the work at his premises and that I would not be subject to delays during school breaks.
After some consideration I decided that I would prefer a more personal touch and Dr Sarji had already impressed me with his knowledge and his experience. I have never regretted that decision.
Advanced Gentle Dentistry has some very up-​to-​date equipment including a Dental 3-​D CAT scanner and a laser scalpel, the 3-​D scanner being particularly relevant to my case since I would require about 10 implants. More importantly, Dr Jim Sarji has been working with dental implants for about 15 years and his experience and expertise was very evident during my treatment of the past 2 years. Implant surgery is as much an art as a science since the structure of everyone’s jaw is unique, and interpreting the scans and x-​rays is something that definitely improves with practice.
Throughout the restoration Dr Sarji has treated me with the utmost respect and consideration, asking my opinion at every stage and explaining the different options in great detail so that I could make informed choices. The whole experience was very interesting and, funnily enough, very pleasant, to the point where I actually looked forward to my bi-​weekly visits. All of the office staff have also been very pleasant and professional and have always been very welcoming.
I am extremely satisfied with the restoration and it is so nice that after so many years I have a full mouth of teeth which look completely natural. I find that I smile much more than I used to and enjoy my food so much more now that I can chew it without having to find 2 teeth that meet. I can recommend Advanced Gentle Dentistry and Dr Jim Sarji without reservation.

I’m as critical as a patient gets and have seen my share of incompetant dentists. Simply put, Dr. Sarji is the best dentist I have ever come across. He is utterly devoted to his craft, meticulous and extremely talented. Moreover, his facilities are state of the art. If you’re looking for a quality dentist, he’s your guy.

I went to Dr. Sarji because a colleague recommended him and he is right by my job. I am very happy I did because he is the best dentist I’ve ever had. I’ve had 2 root canals, cleanings and cavity fillings. Each procedure was pain free and well done. I recently had a sudden toothache and was able to come on within a few hours of calling for an appointment. I’ve never felt like he pushed anything on me in order to gain more profit. He has a sense of humor once you get to know him. He is also very honest, which is nice and refreshing. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone.

Dr. Sarji has been my dentist for almost 10 years. I did in fact find him through the valu-​pak coupon. He has recently moved to a pretty swanky new office on 7^th Ave and 9^th St-​the old office was a little worn down so change is good. The staff has always been nice and Dr. Sarji does a good job. Recently I called after a dubious experience at Tribeca Dental Studio where I was told I needed a cavity filled; I called Dr. Sarji’s office and told them I wanted a 2^nd opinion and was able to get in the next day.
Dr. Sarji examined my teeth and the tooth in question and even showed me with the little hand held mirror where the filling had come out and he replaced it right then and there and charged $ 100. Will be back in December for my cleaning.

He does not talk much, but does great work.

I’ve been going here for years. The ladies that work in office are great! It used to be easy to schedule an appointment within a week. Now that he is popular, it may take 3 – 4 weeks; this is pretty standard with a number of dentist offices so it’s not a big deal. Dr. Sarji is straight to the point and won’t make you feel guilty if you find yourself with a cavity. He is nice to kids and has a wealth of experience. He gave me a tooth implant and it has turned out just fine.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Sarji since we moved to the Slope five years ago. He’s a great guy, maybe reserved at first, but when you get to know him he displays a very droll yet friendly nature. He does great work and is reasonably priced compared to other dentists I’ve gone to. He also doesn’t do unecessary work. He seems happier giving you a clean bill of health than charging you for an expensive procedure.
I’ve been meaning to respond to that negative review for a while. Sorry it took so long, Doc! Maybe it was a bad day when the poster visited, but I’ve found service and cleanliness to be always impeccable. He has also been investing in renovations and new technology in the past few years to make for an even more pleasant experience.

I just started going to Dr. Sarji today upon good recommendations from my boyfriend and his family. Very friendly staff and nice guy. I was in a lot of pain from an impacted wisdom tooth and they were able to squeeze me in the day I called even if I was a new patient. He took my x-​rays and quickly examined my mouth, assessing that the tooth was definitely infected and needed to come out.
Unfortunately, because it is so impacted, I had to be referred to an oral surgeon. BUT I will be back there post-​procedure for a thorough cleaning and follow-​up care. Moreover, he gave me a prescription of antibiotics to bring down the infection and strong ibuprofren to deal w/​the pain. I also didn’t feel like I was being sold crap that was unnecessary. Reminds me of the dentist that tended to me and my family’s teeth when I was a kid — very nice atmosphere and professional service.

He has been the best dentist that I’ve ever had in my life.
Over the years, he has helped me way more than I could expect from any dentist.
The place is clean, he hates seeing people in pain, and he doesnt try to sell me crap that I dont need. He also scolds at me for not flossing, which is a good thing (I finally started). LOL!
I highly recommend his services.
PS: Those lovely business cards that he has were done by my wonderfully talented self. LOL!
