Fairfield Inn & Suites By Marriott New York Brooklyn

Horrible billing department. My boss was charged on her credit card twice, two different amounts, and it took me 3 weeks to get in touch with someone to resolve the issue. I also called weeks before hand to shorten the reservation, they confirmed the new dates over the phone, and when my boss arrived she discovered they canceled her entire reservation and then tried to denied their mistake when I called.

Staff at this hotel were very friendly. Im very picky about where I lay my head at night. This hotel did not creep me out. The hotel was clean and met my picky standards. I have no complaints and would stay here again.

Upon check-​in, I noticed that my room had a serious odor — something that rivaled a high school PE locker room. Then one of the two elevators of the 12-​floor building broke, so it took me 10 – 15 minutes to get in or out of the building. Next the Wifi was so slow that it was essentially non-​functional and I had to visit OTHER HOTELS and local coffee shops to get my work done. The final straw was seeing a room charge for $ 309/​night when it was quoted at $ 179/​night. To their credit, they adjusted the bill and were polite as a staff, but I will not be coming back here for any reason.

Great location in Brooklyn. Basic hotel that met our needs. Staff was professional and cordial. I’m giving four stars due to the air conditioning — the fan or AC seemed to go off in the middle of the night. It was a humid somewhat warm visit in November.

I’m sitting in my modern, surprisingly spacious hotel room at the Fairfield Inn as I write this. As someone who can be away from home for ten weeks at a time, I need to know I’m going to feel at home wherever I’m staying, and this Marriott is all of that and then some.
I chose this particular Marriott because I was going to be working in Brooklyn and Manhattan for two weeks, and this was not only convenient to both locations, but it was also incredibly affordable. The money you spend on this hotel is worth every dime, and to be honest, you’re probably getting more bang for your buck than you’d expect. Breakfast is complimentary and consistently good. Parking is usually available if you get there early enough, and the fee is an easy $ 30/​night. That’s super cheap compared to some places, and if there isn’t parking available, you can find free parking on the streets right around the hotel.
Speaking of the area around the hotel — there is SO much to do and to eat in this area of Brooklyn. You have a ton of great restaurants in walking distance, and if you’re lazy like I am, there are some wonderful establishments that will deliver. I would highly suggest getting out and exploring, though, because there are some hidden gems around here. What make this location prime is its close proximity to Atlantic Terminal. It’s a 7 – 10 minute walk to a hub of public transportation. You can be in the city within 15 – 20 minutes!
What I have enjoyed most about my stay here is the staff. Every person with whom I interacted has been of the highest and most authentic quality. Whether it’s the incredibly friendly and helpful Jose or the patient, kind, and pleasant staff who works the front desk, everyone has been beyond incredible.
If you’re looking to find home and kindness in one of the world’s craziest cities, you can find it at this Fairfield Inn.

Room was, literally, 12 feet by 18 feet. Ice available from the BASEME. Absurdly overpriced at $ 413.00/night.

I stayed at this Marriott recently for three nights, four days. It’s a nice 10 minute walk from Atlantic Station Terminal and walking distance to lots of activities (location is great!). The rooms are nice, not overly large, but definitely what you’d expect for Brooklyn terrain. Parking is available for purchase and it’s easy to catch a taxi from 3^rd Ave. since it’s such a busy street. They have a small Market with items for purchase, although I was very disappointing to be denied their « Unilocal check-​in offer». I didn’t know that was possible, but I guess you learn new things every day. Although the offer pop’s up when you check in (complimentary beer or drink from The Market), the lady working the front desk said they «no longer offer it.»
Breakfast is decent, continental style with oatmeal (sometimes runny!), scrambled eggs – with cheese and salsa for sides – and interchanging sausage and bacon, along with potatoes, bagels, muffins, waffles and yogurt. They’ve got coffee, milk and juices (although no dairy free options). I only wish they’d had more fruit options and regularly carried hard boiled eggs, they do have whole green apples and bananas. With a gym, computer area and incredible views towards Manhattan as seen from the roof, it’s a great option for staying in Brooklyn. I’m not sure if the rooms have thin walls or if the place is haunted, but I slept terribly all three nights here. Other then that, it made for a decent stay.

I gave this hotel one star because the day staff was nice, however, under no circumstances would I recommend this hotel to anyone.
I travel frequently for work, so I am well-​versed in fact that a great hotel can be ruined by a busy, incompetent, lazy or inefficient Housekeeping staff.
To be fair and honest, I checked into the Fairfield Inn and Suites Brooklyn with a pleasant lady named, Tatiana. She was professional, efficient and nice. She was interrupted for several reasons while I was checking in, but acknowledged and apologized. I don’t require a gushing welcome to any establishment. I just require one to do their job and help me in whatever capacity as a representative of the business.
Housekeeping completely missed on their part of the job. I should have known to check the entire room, when I found the toilet unflushed upon check-​in. However, as a frequent traveler, I just wiped down all the surfaces I touch with the Clorox wipes. Bad mistake #1. I went about my business and left the hotel to run some errands and have dinner.
Being the equal opportunity customer that I am, when I returned to the hotel, I asked the front desk clerk to relay a message to the housekeeping manager, regarding my unflushed toilet. I said, «I understand that they’re busy and have a lot to do, but please remind them of the basics, like flushing the toilet.
She said OK. No apology, no empathy, no understanding for my issue. Once again I don’t need people falling down at my feet. I just want any representative receiving a compliant from a customer to have some sort of reaction that shows they care about the customer and any issues, as a representative of the business. I didn’t get that from her.
No one should be surprised that when I did pulled the covers back there was a hair in the bed. This room was listed for $ 439. Shame on me for expecting more. I called downstairs, and asked for someone to bring me up a new linens because there was a hair in my bed.
Forty-​five minutes later, after another call, someone brought up one flat sheet. I said. «NO I need everything and pointed at the pile of linens by the door because I took everything off of the bed.»
The new linens were brought back relatively quickly. She handed me the linens and said call if you need anything else.
People should not be asked to pay any amount of money for that type of service. I am Marriott Gold member, probably headed to Platinum in the next couple of months. I would hate to see how they treat the random customer.
To be fair this is not usually the customer service I received from any Marriott location. However, I felt people should have a realistic expectation of this particular location.

I was a little nervous booking a hotel in Brooklyn, but got my recommendations from trip advisor and was not disappointed. Hotel was newly renovated, clean and close to subway. they also served breakfast which for me is important since I was traveling with kids, there is nothing worse than jet lagged kids and trying to find some breakfast. The breakfast was cool, the typical continental type, make your own waffles, juice, muffins, sausage… Internet connection at hotel both by wifi and hard wire in there service area was a little shaky. Staff was friendly. Enjoyed my stay.

So I just checked in for the first time and it’s a lovely hotel. Very clean nice design but there Unilocal offer THEY DONT HONOR! So why advertise and not honor?

Typical small NYC rooms. NOT what I expected at all. I was really disappointed in the size of the room and the amenities. I have stayed in many nicer hotels in NYC for about the same price.
The front desk lady was nice, but they screwed up our reservation and that of another person in front of me. Because there was a line, I started to hear «priceline» quite a bit. Now I get it. they sold our room to someone else.
My husband stays in Marriott properties all the time. He is part of their loyalty program. Usually, that means something. Not here.
Service means trying to help guests and solve problems. Service isn’t smiling and saying what time breakfast is like nothing is wrong. They never apologize. They clearly don’t care about our loyalty.
I will never stay here again and I am encouraging my husband to switch his loyalty to Hyatt.

Good location to local bars and restaurants. Awesome roof deck with a view of Manhattan. A little loud a night bc of the current construction which docked my stars bc of a bad nights sleep.

This is my second time coming to this hotel. I’ve had really good success with most Marriott’s and this is no different. I will say that when i stayed last year, the hotel was fairly new so I got a really low rate and a top floor room that would be best described as a luxury suite. This time around the prices were up a bit more and the hotel was much more crowded, but this can definitely be attributed to the fact that the neighborhood is on the upswing. With the Barclays Center only a few blocks away this hotel only stands to reap the benefits. It’s clean, the staff is great and you’re really close to the subway. I can’t remember how much parking was the last time, but at $ 25 a night it seemed like it went up a bit. I paid the same amount for parking at the hotel garage in midtown the following week. All in all though a great hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Farifield Inn & Suites. It was my first time staying in Brooklyn and this was the perfect location for the activities we planned! It was a short train ride to East NY to see family and short Über ride to Chelsea to hang with friends! The best part of the hotel for me was the shower water pressure! We have stayed in many hotels and the shower was meh, but this one was just what we needed after walking blocks and blocks. The parking was convenient, wasn’t really feeling the $ 28 day with no in/​out privileges, but it provided a fairly save place to park. The rooftop area was nice and perfect spot to watch the fireworks. I will definitely be back to stay here!

Great location. Great room. Rooftop at sunset provides a nice view of this part of Brooklyn. Clean and comfortable quarters. Assorted sundries and refreshments are available in the lobby. I did not like the breakfast. Minus one star. For a neighbourhood now filled with local coffee and baked good shops I think its a missed opportunity to not have higher quality and healthier food and beverage choices at the buffet. Friendly staff. I would stay here again.

A little far from the city but the subway is 4 blocks away. There is a park across the street and the star system hardly can convey my happiness at their kindness to me on my week long stay. Only 5 stars is hardly what these folks deserve!!!,
Terrific gem in the quickly gentrifying area of Brooklyn. Some terrific restaurants just a block or two away.
Don’t hesitate to stay here. Ask for a room in the back of the hotel if you are a light sleeper. The views to the front are better but there is some temporary road improvement that makes it a bit noisy. I was quickly and happily moved when I mentioned it to the delightful front desk ladies.
I hated to leave, they were so much nicer than my family I had to return home to!

Paid damn near $ 1000 for our stay, Unilocal had a promotion saying «check in & get 1 free beer». They totally denied the offer… pay 1k & cant get a $ 5 beer… bullshit

Cozy, trendy hotel. Small rooms, but not bad for Brooklyn. Love the décor and all of the artwork throughout. There was a used bar of soap included in our bathroom, which was a gross thing, but otherwise the room was clean and had everything we needed. There’s a standard continental breakfast in the morning, with decent eggs and coffee. Not bad for the price.

There were some good things, some bad things, and some weird things about this place.
Good Things:
— The bed was nice. there were enough pillows. the bedspread seemed to be the type that would get laundered after every guest, rather than the older style ones that you just know the places weren’t washing very often. so it seemed clean and fresh and was comfortable.
— The breakfast was pretty good, for a complimentary breakfast. and a nice little sort of cafeteria area in which to sit and eat the breakfast. generally quite pleasant and the food was decent as well.
— The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful with every single thing I asked them to help me with. Including going really what I felt was above and beyond the call of duty by printing me out directions on multiple occasions, hailing me cabs, etc.
— The furniture in the room was sturdy, functional, and attractive.
— They provided a recycling bin, which was a very welcome and refreshing change. Most places do not provide a recycling bin, in my experience. I was glad to have one.
— They had a pretty nice array of drinks and snacks at the front desk, available for purchase. Also some free cookies.
Bad Things:
— The temperature was wildly inconsistent. It was not possible to achieve a comfortable temperature in that room. It was either Roasting or Freezing in there. If I set the thermostat on 70, it was an oven in there; if I set it on 68, it was an icebox. I fiddled with it for three days, setting it everywhere from 66 to 72 and never was able to actually get the room to any of those temperatures (except very briefly in between extremes — think of the planet Crematoria in the movie The Chronicles of Riddick — it was tolerable during the transitions between hot and cold and back again). This is the reason for the four-​star rating. I would probably give this business a five-​star rating if the room had been room temperature!
— The shower door did not close properly and so lots of water kept leaking out of the shower onto the floor. Annoying.
Weird Things:
— Returning from a funeral, I ended up having a conversation with one of the front desk clerks about death and the afterlife. It was overall a pleasant conversation, but it got awkward fast when she began quizzing me about my spiritual life and stating repeatedly, «It is a FACT that Jesus Christ died for my sins. It’s a FACT.» Overall, however, that particular clerk was amazingly good at her job and made me feel super welcome.
— The size of the soaps and the spacing of the metal rungs in the soap dishes did not go well together. The soap was continually falling out of the soap dishes. It got annoying pretty fast. Put a plastic thing in the soap dishes if you have to, to keep the soap in the dish. What is the point of a soap dish that cannot contain the soap?
I would definitely return to this hotel if I were going to be in that area again, but I would check first to make sure that the issue with the thermostats has been fixed. My sister had the same issue in her room, so it wasn’t just that my room had a wonky thermostat or anything. They need to fix this problem.

Idk if my booking through Priceline gave me a disadvantage but I got a 4^th floor dingy small room with a view of the parking lot.
The only redeeming factor was a clean bed (I hope!!) and delicious oatmeal with yogurt and fruit. Eggs were atrocious. I’m not a food expert, but I had better eggs at McDonald’s. Not in a Hurry to return.
