Fantastic experience!
The Spa has a very professional atmosphere starting from the two very sweet and considerate receptionists all the way to the experience esthetician staff.
It was an absolute pleasure booking and appointment that fit my needs, which were clearly fulfilled by highly experienced and thorough estheticians. I had a pleasure of being waxed by both Jackie and Galina on two separate occasions, both listened to my needs and were very gentle.
Its a bit pricey but very much well worth my money.
(first timers try the HARD WAX… so much less painful)
Looking forward to coming back ASAP!

I went to this salon for a Brazilian wax. My overall experience was excellent! After reading the reviews on Unilocal I gave this salon a shot. Galina did my wax and by far she has been the best waxer I’ve ever been to. She was extremely thorough and took her time, and I would have to say it was the least painful wax I’ve had. The salon was very clean and everyone was professional. I signed up for the salons emailing list and they usually have promotions every month! I love promos and discounts! Try this place out, and Galina is great!

Andis at Salon Élan is the absolute best hair stylest I’ve EVER had. He is kind, efficient, incredibly talented, careful, and through. Seriously, I have never in my life had a better haircut. I’ve reccommended ALL of my friends schedule appointments with him and all of them leave incredibly happy. He is the best. Not to mention, he has a fantastic memory. If you’re looking for a great haircut and an affordable New York rate check out Andis at Salon Élan.
Re the salon in general: it’s always very clean and very professional. No complaints at all.

My compliments are for Jackie. I have been a client of Élan salon for almost a year and I always ask for Jackie. I go to Élan every month for Brazilian wax and under arms and always request hard wax; this is the best investment I could have ever made for myself.
Jackie’s very experienced and always makes the sessions as pain free as possible. She is very, very professional; she loves her job and is very thorough. There have been times when Jackie is very busy but when my appointment comes, she takes her time to do a ‘perfect’ job, as always.
For those who complaint about the use of baby powder I would like to let you know that Baby powder is used to soothe irritated skin, and to absorb excess of moisture.

Unfortunately, I went here the first time for a bikini wax having read the good reviews. I was horrified to learn they were still only using strip wax (Despite on their website saying they offered both, when I asked they said they only did strip wax). By this point the waxing has already begun. The experience itself was more painful than usual but most importantly I was left with redness, bruising and scabbing up to many days later. This never happens with hard wax and professional clean service you get at other places. I would not go back and not recommend anyone to go there for waxing. UniKWax is far more sanitary, painless, effective and cheaper.

Recently my hair stylist was telling me about microdermabrasion, and how wonderful her face feels afterwards. I immediately called Élan to see if Galina does it, and to my surprise she did. I booked an appointment for the microdermabrasion with a deep cleaning facial FYI: the microdermabrasion is 50% off when having it with a facial ;-)
It took about a hour and a half for everything to be done, but let me tell you that my face has NEVER felt so clean and refreshed! I have no idea what that machine does, but it’s like a miracle worker, along with the skills of Galina, and her awesome facial skills! She seriously makes sure she gets every black head, blemish off your face.
Since getting my first treatment, I’m already on my second, and plan to go back next month, I can’t wait!!! I feel so good after everything that I wish I can do this every week. Once again Galina has made me feel wonderful.

I went to this salon last month for a Brazilian bikini wax, and it was great. I was very happy with the results. I went back last night for another one and when I got home, I had a horrible burning sensation. I don’t know if it was from the wax or from the ridiculous amount of powder she used, which the internet says never to do, but i’ve washed a couple of times and it still hurts today. I’ve heard of this happening to other people, but it’s never happened to me before. Unfortunately, that was my last visit.

I love this spa and based on Unilocal reviews, came here for a bikini wax. Jackie was thorough and professional, and she chatted with me a bit during the service so it wasn’t super awkward. Jackie’s great and super fast — while detail oriented. The only down-​side is the hard wax is $ 72, which is a lot of money.

I’ve been getting bikini waxes at Élan for some time now, and I always leave happy: they do good work quickly, and for a great price. I just had an excellent experience with Jackie, who used a hard wax treatment on me. She was fast, funny, and I was pleased with the results. Will definitely keep coming here!

This review is for the hair stylist named Alex!!! My mom used to change stylists all the time and she could never find the right one who will make her short hair look beautiful and healthy. She went today and had highlights with Alex and she came out a queen!!! She never looked as good as she did when she came out of Élan salon!!! It looked sooo amazing that I am making a hair appointment for myself for highlights and a cut. And I don’t usually change my hairstylists. I have been going to my stylist for the past 4 years. But thank you Alex for my beautiful mommy!!!

I’ve gotten a Brazilian, manicure, & haircut here. Everyone has been super nice except for the woman at the front desk, who has been a bit cold and rude with me before.
Brazilian was great, very quick, thorough, & professional. I’d definitely come back for this!
Manicure was great, I had Lucy (I think that was her name?) who was SO sweet and clearly experienced and my manicure from here has stayed longer than most of my other ones.
Haircut– eh… I asked for 1 inch off and he cut like 3 inches. I was quite mortified but it was too late and he was super nice, but I’m 24 and this haircut definitely makes me look much older. It like mushrooms out. I’m not very happy with it :-/​
So mostly good, good professional environment, I just wouldn’t go back for a haircut!

Still the best. Just want to include Jackie in the mix — she convinced me to try this other type of wax process and it hurt so much less, hair returns a lot less/​thinner, and she is so thorough and proficient. I feel bad cheating on Galina who had become my go-​to, but Jackie’s process really lasts. It’s slightly more expensive but I have found I have to go a lot less frequently so win-​win.

My review is for the waxing services only. I originally went to Galina based on her rave reviews. She wasn’t available the other day so I went with Marina. Her skills are quite impressive as well.
I haven’t done a ton of research on waxing services in NYC but for 40 bucks I thought it was a deal. I really think you’d be hard pressed to find comparable elsewhere.

Their services are thorough, quick, and very reasonably priced. The place is nicely decorated and kept clean. The appointments are usually kept on time and they work closely with their other location to accommodate walk-​ins.
I went in and got a bikini and eyebrow wax; as long as I’m home, I’ll never go anywhere else. I’ve had other places struggle and complain about my hair, but Galina got in there and took care of business. No lie, she’s got a rough Russian touch, and it’s a little difficult to communicate. But she’s EFFICIENT! She’s so quick, you don’t even have time to feel pain. Love this place!
