Brooklyn Bell’s The Local

Really fresh and creamy ice cream! Got the pecan peanut one. The server also hooked us up we only wanted one scoop and it was basically 2! Cute atmosphere as well. Good spot for a first date too!

This is a great local ice cream shop! My friend and I stopped by and got Chocolate and Vanilla scoops, basic yes but they also have a small selection of interesting flavors as well that they rotate.
Ice cream tastes homemade and rich, you can tell its made with the good stuff. They were even baking fresh cookies while we sat at the counter. Staff was all smiles and both employees during the duration of our visit even struck up a conversation with us.
On a side note, I’ve been in NYC for almost six months and this has been the friendliest and best service from any place I’ve been to. Bonus: This small shop is cheaper than other chain ice cream shops plus you get to support a local business. I’ll be back for sure. :)

Bar none, best ice cream in Brooklyn. This place has real good ice cream. If you ever want to know what the old Breyers vanilla ice cream tasted like try their vanilla. Even better, if you want to try the best Strawberry ice cream go to Bell’s. They brilliantly figured out that roasting the strawberries brings out the best flavor. Ample Hills gets all the attention, but this place puts out the best ice cream. As someone who prefers gelato, this place brought back the notion that good ice cream is hard to let go of.

Portion size was very generous and price was actually fair! Have been to many other ice cream shops of a similar caliber but this spot was way more bang for your buck /​reasonable.
Their signature flavor — the black lava caramel — is a must try, at least have a sample. It is super rich and a little bitter at the end. My favourite was the maple butter pecan though. It also was rich but a bit lighter in flavor and the texture was fantastic — the buttery tones with the pecans was great!
Definitely one of the best spots I’ve been to. Wasn’t too crowded and the servers were super nice!

Yeah the ice cream here is decent and there are a ton of delicious and unique flavors to choose from but this place was a little blah. When I think of this guilty pleasure of ice cream, I think of the cold and creamy treat we all love that chases the blues away. Brooklyn Bell lacks a bit of fun in their store.
Parking can be tough on this street but feel free to play a little Russian roulette and park at the hydrant in front of the store, just be sure to keep an eye out for the evil meter maids.
Oh btw I did really enjoy my chocolate ice cream on a waffle cone.

I really love their service here! We got a 10percent off while walking towards the store which was really cool!
We got to try samples of their ice cream. I was eyeing the raspberry lemonade sorbet and the worker let me try a sample of it.
So I got the raspberry lemonade sorbet, it was tart and sweet at the same time. I liked how it was really refreshing because, we went on a stroll around prospect park.
Overall, I’ll come here again to try the other flavors because they were so nice to offer us samples.

I don’t buy ice cream all that often so I had kind of forgotten about this place. The first time I went was in the winter. I think the guy who helped me was one of the owners. He was really nice and they had some great, unique flavors. (I’m sure flavor selection depends on timing and changes often)
I went again recently, I think it was last week on a Wednesday night and the flavor selection was kind of limited. I’m sure that can happen when it gets towards the end of the night. This was maybe 20 minutes before closing. The girl at the counter was unfriendly, bordering on rude.
I would go back again this summer though and try again — as I said, I’m sure it is timing sometimes.

A must every time I come home to Brooklyn! Quality ice cream and good, friendly service are mainstays of this ice cream shop. The black lava is the best! Had black cherry chip and brownie nut fudge today and was delicious. Unique flavors are always present.

You could argue to location of this place is great as it is right by Prospect park and the Brooklyn museum… Or you could argue that the location is terrible because finding a place to park anywhere near it is a colossal ball-​ache.
Either way, once you’re in the ice cream is pretty great. And they have Konery cones, which is always a plus.
The wait time was short and the staff member was friendly. I got french vanilla, black lava caramel, and toasted piña colada. All were good, and portion sizes were very sizeable so no complaints from me. I got the piña colada and black lava caramel on a cone, but because the caramel was already so soft (for reasons I am unsure) she put the cone upside down in a cup and gave me a spoon. That kinda negates the whole purpose of the cone to me. The cone is a handy free-​standing compartmentalized structure that allows me to keep my pimp hand strawng and free to take pictures for sweet all-​important instagram karma. If I don’t have a hand free to take pictures how is anyone going to know I ate it?

After so many walks across eastern parkway I finally found a great ice cream spot! I had a root beer float that was delicious and the guy working behind the counter was awesome.
Gave it 4 stars and not 5 just because the space wasn’t exactly tidey and cute.
But besides that it’s a great spot in the neighborhood!

NO long lines, and attentive service and definitely FANTASTIC ice-​cream. So many flavors, and all I have tried were extremely tasty. I am really in love with their chocolate sauce, I always ask to add it to every kind of flavor I get, it goes perfectly with all of them.
This spot is also great because of its location, its is close to Prospect Park so in a nice weather you can enjoy your ice-​cream having a walk in a park. I still did not discover all of their flavors, but I am positive in doing it in a short matter of time.

Oh my, this ice cream is heavenly. We came out for a family dessert outing and pretty much sampled the entire stock (yay for gracious guys behind the counter) before settling on black lava caramel (me) and the maple butter pecan and vanilla (hubby). The double scoop was bigger than our 6 month old’s head, haha. The ice cream is super high quality and the flavors packed with umami. Little play table with toys for the kiddos, too! Love love love it.

A locally made ice-​cream spot with upstate cream that makes delicious treats. Known for Black lava caramel their signature flavor and it’s luscious. The Flavors have lots of zing. I went with roasted strawberry and chocolate. I really loved the roasted strawberry. Added tasty chocolate sauce. The ice –cream tasted super fresh. The shop is real cute with a loo. If you’re at the museum or Franklin Ave, Brooklyn Bell will Ring Your Bell!

BLACK LAVA FN CARAMEL!!! go get this!
This place is very open and has friendly staff that will let you sample the many different flavors. My personal fav was the black lava and something with snickerdoodle cookie bits. Take a cone and go walk in prospect park.

All my five stars go to the black lava caramel. The flavor is so unique. It’s creamy and sweet but then leaves a hint of bitterness. And when its paired with maple butter pecan… it was like heaven!

Amazing ice cream! I got the black lava caramel and my boyfriend got the root beer chip. I don’t know what kind of magic he uses but the root beer was exceptional.
He was also so proud of his work and a really nice guy. The sweet cream pistachio is an unique flavor that I will definitely get the next time I stop by!

Went with the complex black lava caramel and the bold cinnamon allspice in a double cup after being underwhelmed by the mac daddy and daddy mac samples. Friendly family-​run business (receipt said double scoop of vanilla) that I’d like to patronize again.
FYI

Today I kicked my diet in the nuts and went out for ice cream. After failing to expertly sidestep that snow pile, I came in covered in snow and didn’t even raise the eyebrow of the owner who greeted me like a long lost child. Already sold!
I tried a few of the flavors which were nice but then settled on the Daddy Mac vanilla version; a coconut, macadamia, rum concoction that caused me to do that child’s dance we all know so well. I went with the milkshake so I could have it all the way home with worrying about it falling in snow and I’m happier than I’ve been since the (insert curse word here) freezing season started. That milkshake was creamy, delicious and the perfect consistency.
It was perfection and he told me that his wife makes the cake with such pride, it won’t be long before I’m in there trying that too. It’s on Classon which is in the middle of the revitalization of Franklin and the hubbub of Washington therefore so easy to miss so I spread the word. Go!

Absolutely DELICIOUS! Yes, I eat ice cream in the winter and 30 degree temps aren’t going to stop me from a chocolate craving.
I am so glad I picked up some of their Mixed Chocolate ice cream. It really has to be one of the best flavors I have ever tasted. Creamy, rich, full of flavor, and you can taste the ingredients. It is everything you hope for when you think of chocolate ice cream. Simply delicious.
