Benny’s is a great shop — everyone’s friendly and I’ve never had much of a wait. They’ve always done a great job, even with a few different styles, and they listen well to what you want.

No complaints here! Went here for the first time today because of Unilocal reviews. In and out very quickly on a Tuesday afternoon, good and friendly service from Mike, and being to pay and tip via credit card is convenient. I may make this my regular place from now on.

I came early. Was seated right a away. I never got my hair cut by a woman but not bad. Now I wasn’t blown away but very good and efficient. I had a train to catch in less than 2 hours and was in and out. I’d come back.

Bad Customer Service, won’t return
I walked in 1.5 hrs before they were supposed to close on a Sunday. 1 hair dresser was cutting a man’s hair, another was sitting in her seat eating a while 2 other people sat waiting for cuts. About 8 – 10 minutes passed with all 3 of us sitting there before she put down the food and started cutting someone’s hair. The other hair dresser finished her customer, looked at myself and the other waiting customer and then took her lunch into the back where she put on the tv. If you close in an hour I’m pretty sure you should cut the heads that are waiting in line and not turn on the cable in the back to eat your lunch, or at the very least say you need 5 quick minutes to eat.

Friendly and fast. Barber asked if it was short enough after trying one length. During the cut had a good conversation that didnt feel forced. I will be back.

I was visiting NYC and in need of a haircut. So, after checking out the Unilocal reviews of the barbers in this area I decided to stop by this place.
The prices here would be hard to beat (and I’m a very frugal guy especially when it comes to haircuts). A Unilocal check-​in coupon was icing on top.
I was very pleased with the haircut. My barber listened and communicated very well throughout, getting my haircut exactly how I had wanted it. I’m impressed with how nicely she tapered the edges.
The only quibble I have is that the clippers used to trim down the neckline must have had a tiny sharp bit of metal sticking off the guard, because it stung on a few strokes, and left a few red scratch marks down the back of my neck.
Edit: Bigger quibble — After checking again, it looks like there’s a long patch at least 1 sq in that was missed during the scissor cut of the top. =\

Great little folksy baber shop. I have been a few times now to get my beard trimmed and both barbers there are great and efficient. And it’s cheap! Definitely intend to become a regular.

Benny’s has been my go-​to for the past year. Short wait, cheap cut, great service. My only complaint is that it closes early sometimes with no heads up! I went today around 620pm and it was closed. Second time that has happened to me! Make sure you stay open until 7pm for the after-​work crowd!

Good cut, solid price and they offered me an adult beverage. What else are you looking for?

Benny’s is my go-​to local place to get a haircut! I just got my hair cut by Katya, and as usual she did a great job and knows how to cut my hair without any fuss and problems. The other stylists here are just as competent. I have even gotten a shave a few times and that is a lot of fun– try it if you haven’t done it before, it is a great experience!

If you live in the area, this is where you should get your hair cut. We just moved here and I am so happy to have stumbled across this spot.

Well, ask for one of the guys, not the lady. Your hair and future you will thank you.

This place gives beautiful haircuts. But many places do that. This was the first place I’ve had my haircut where I laughed out loud as the guys told stories and asked questions. Yuri was both a brilliant conversationalist as well as a kick ass stylist.
If you need a barber, this is your place. Hands down.

Horrible experience! It was my worst experience ever in new york. I am not used to writing reviews but today i was forced to write because of what I had to go through. Mike is cool, i have had my hair trimmed from him multiple times, no problem at all. But today there was a lady, never seen her there before. She was so rude, never ever in any salon have i been treated like this. She made a mess of my hair and then behaved rude on top of that. Then she left my hair in bw and said I dont have to pay for it. But I paid her full and then went to another salon to get my hair done. OMG!
So friends I am sure you can find a better hair dresser.
