Palm Canyon Hotel & RV Resort

I stayed last weekend the rooms were nice and clean. The people at front desk need to take a class on being nice not rude. And the bar that was so sad it took 30 minutes to make a bloody Mary we were the only ones there. To get anything took a long time we went to eat lunch on Saturday to use the 10% off coupon you get and they were closed I just moved there and thought it was cool I don’t think so

very decent rv park. dont listen to the whiners. restrooms, with private showers, are very well maintained. pool and hot tub are outstanding. the staff was very competent and quite helpful. the restaurant is very reasonably priced for being connected to a hotel and rv park. the rib eye steak was quite good. they gave us a space well away from the groups at the other end of the park, we were very happy with that. i didnt even bother with the wifi. they warned us at the desk that we would have trouble with it, no problem, i have my own wifi. the place is definitely not the cheapest youre gonna find, you can stay at the public park in the middle of town for nothing i think, or out in the middle of the desert in a sand storm. for this trip, we prefered having the amenities. overall we were very happy with our trip and look forward to visiting in the future.

Location: The park is near Borrego Springs and not far from other desert destinations:
Check-​In: When we arrived and it was not very busy. The lady at the counter was friendly and knowledgeable.
Our site: This is the RV parks downfall. The lots are not wide at all and you are on top of your neighbor. The people next to us left a day early because of this. The sites are fairly level and made of gravel. The roadway around the park is asphalt.
Security: They have people running in golf carts all day and they enforce the rules. I appreciate this very much.
Amenities: They have a great Saloon and a separate Café which served great food. It was expensive, but I expected that. They also have a small convenience store next to the check in area.
Cost: For two nights it cost us $ 145 and the reservations were made online. This was for a pull thru lot with full hook-​ups.
Wi-​Fi: Not very good and it got worse when more campers showed up and started using it.

Housekeeping service is always busy when you call. The pool deck was really dirty when we arrived. So the kids towels got muddy, and housekeeping was always busy. You have to call the front desk for new towels. The coffee maker was broken and made a big mess. No one cares. I got a wake up call I didn’t order. No one warned me you do them yourself on the phone, and the prior person could set it for every day, and thus wake you up.
Food is good. Location is good. Pool is good. Just don’t expect service of any kind. Wi-​fi is nonexistent, whatever they say. It took forever to pull up my gmail account, but then it couldn’t even open one. I brought an air card, and for the first 2 nights I couldn’t get anything either. Then, on Sunday, I did. Don’t know what it means exactly. But if wi-​fi access is really important to you, don’t come here, and maybe don’t come to Borrego Springs.

Clean, well maintained RV park with a unique hotel, restaurant and bar. Good location, walking distance to down town. Check out the metal sculptures and geocaches surrounding the town

Absolutely love this place. Wild Wild West theme fits this place well and is really cool. We stayed at the vintage trailer and it was just awesome– had everything we needed. Hot tub was perfect.
This was my second time at the Big Horn bar and grill and we absolutely love it. Super sweet and friendly waitress, great choices of beers, and most importantly the food was delicious. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese and ribs. Very affordable and delicious. At brunch time this place was also great with unlimited drinks and pretty good breakfast food. The view is also amazing so I highly recommend the outdoor seating area. Great classic rock tunes too! Everyone that comes to borrego should stay here :)

Just had dinner at the Big Horn Bar & Grill. Had great service and great food… and we are staying at this awesome resort. Check it out when you
come to Borrego Springs!

Stayed for two nights and check in process was effortless. The Western theme was really cool as it add to the attraction. The place is a all in one stay but mainly for RV. The hotel is excellent for friends that have RV but themselves does not.
The place is 3 stars for the hotel part (can not comment on the RV site). The hotel room I came to quickly tell it was a budget remodel from a old build. The bed and other vital items are excellent. It is a very clean place and service is excellent. I simply think the place is a bit lacking in detail in making the place a true top notch place to stay for the price being listed.

What a very unique western-​themed resort the owners have created here! Not only do they have RV sites, but hotel buildings that are made to look like an old western village as well as some retro trailers that have been rehabbed that you can rent. My husband and I had a fun couple of days here. Wish we had more time! The park is very well kept. Didn’t try the restaurant, so can’t speak to that. The park is close enough to the state park that we rode our bikes all around the area and did a little hiking. Our only wish is that there was a shuttle or something into the town area and that we had known there was an art show going on while we were there. ;-(We would highly recommend the resort and plan to return again.

Had a wonderful stay. Large, comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. Pool and spa were pristine. Best of all, we enjoyed hiking to Borrego Springs State Park Visitor’s Center and then on to Palm Canyon Trail. Next day, we also hiked directly to Hell Hole Canyon for more hiking. The old western town theme is quaint and nicely maintained. We’ll be back!

This place is well-​located and has everything you could want. Laundromat even takes credit cards! BUT it’s awfully expensive and not very friendly. I felt like they didn’t really want me there. Surprising since the place was at least half-​empty. Maybe I’m not suitably upper class for them.

Amazing pulled pork, tasty salads, friendly fast service and great prices. What more could you ask for? Such a pleasant dining experience after frolicking in the desert! We will be back!

We had a great experience this past weekend at Palm Canyon Hotel and RV Resort. We reserved an Airstream, but upon arrival, we were informed that it was out of service due to maintenance issues. Arturo, the manager, worked really hard to make sure that my family still had a great visit — and we did!
The hot tubs are nicely sized and clean. The pools are great, too. Borrego Springs is a magical town in the desert. We will be back!

We stayed for a Thursday night. It was 112 degrees outside when we checked in. Luckily the air conditioner was already on and the room was a pleasant 78 degrees. The room was spacious and very clean. It had a TV, table for 2, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, 2 queen size beds, double sinks and mirrors and a shower/​tub combo. We stayed in room 232, which is the top floor. We went to Borrego Springs to see the meteor shower and weren’t disappointed. The sky was really dark and clear. We liked this place a lot.
Pros– Room was great. Bed was comfortable. Landscaping was perfect. View from our windows was breath-​taking. Pool was clean. Town has a nice choice of restaurants and the one that we went to stayed open until 10. Scenery is amazing and metal art statues made for nice photos. Town was quiet. Perfect place for us to get away from city life (we went off season and only a few rooms had guest).
Cons– Décor on the wall was creepy. Air conditioner was noisy. No continental breakfast is included. Desert was HOT (DUH)!

Phenomenal place! I initially thought that «Wild West themed» would end up being an old dilapidated property with a hand-​written sign, like «Saloon» or something like that, but this was possibly the cleanest and the most meticulously maintained hotel we have ever stayed at.
The room wasn’t just clean, it was near sterile! Including the carpets, bathrooms, sinks and everything else. Same goes for the restaurant in the main building — unrealistically clean!
Even the sandy areas between the sidewalks are neatly brushed with a rake, like some sort of a Japanese stone garden or something.
Very cool Wild West décor with very tasteful and professionally done sings and other details.
Super friendly and helpful staff.
Food at the restaurant — huge portions, home made quality, not some cheap fast food.
Overall, this was a unique experience and I am pretty sure we will be coming back!

I grew up coming to borrego to go
Off-​roading as a kid, and had to stop here now as an adult. As a kid, the RV Park was great and it looks even better now! The grounds are VERY clean and everyone was friendly. We just had a drink while here, and the bartender Victoria was very friendly and accommodating! We enjoyed her company! Next time we are in town, we will stop in and try different things!

Fun time here at this past weekend for our second wedding anniversary trip! If you’re looking for a fun and inexpensive trip, stay in one of their 8 vintage trailer for a mid-​20^th century throwback vacation. Trailers were warm inside (outfitted with modern heater/​AC) and decorated to match.
Bring charcoal and steaks to grill out on the (10’x10’) covered area near the front of each trailer. If not, visit Victoria, Fernando (?) and Mike (?) in the Big Horn Restaurant. Call ahead to see if they have steaks– they had run out due to high demand.
Before booking, know that there are no in-​trailer bathrooms– in the 2-​person vintage trailers anyway. I’d suggest calling to confirm whether or not there are bathrooms in the larger (greater than 2 person) vintage trailers. There’s a bathhouse about 80 yards away from the Marilyn trailer (furthest from the bathhouse) so bring a dopp or tote bag to carry toiletries with you to shower. Although minimal bath provisions are provided, I’d recommend bringing a towel and bath products for your own use as well. Despite the bathroom inconvenience, the vintage trailers are a great find!
Palm Canyon Hotel & RV Resort is part of the Highway West Vacation company of resorts. Will certainly consider other resort locations by Highway West Vacation on trips to Oregon, Utah (Moab) or Northern California in the future.

This is the tenth year in a row that we have stayed in the RV Park over New Years. The park is physically great but the new owners have raised the fees too much compared to nicer parks in the area. This year we paid $ 57 per night for a back-​in motorhome site and their reservation system is a mess. They lose reservations that are confirmed… Then they told us the best rates were available only on-​line… We quoted them the rates we found on-​line… And they told us… That is the old web site… And we had to look at the new site… And that site is named after the parent company new owners… And is not findable searching the name of the park.
The place is beautiful and it is in better condition than ever… And the wi-​fi finally works. The staff is a mixed bag when it comes to customer service.

This was a very nice resort. I’m kind of torn so far as customer service due to the fact that there were certain members of the staff who were very warm and hospitable where there were others who were very cold and borderline rude.
The rooms were very nice cozy and clean. The housekeeping staff was awesome. I love the western style and the ambience of the property. I swam in the pool however it took some coaxing because it was kind of cold but the jacuzzi was kept clean and hot. I had never heard of the property until I stumbled across a Groupon offer. It was a very good deal. I did kind of have a problem with one thing. I thought I would ask for an upgrade to a unit with a balcony. The same size and everything in fact it was right next door. And I figured since there were only 5 cars in the parking lot it wouldn’t be that big of a deal. But the front desk told me that I would have to cancel out my Groupon and pay the regular rate of over $ 200 a night if I wanted to move next door to a balcony room. I mean come on, is it really that serious?
I did use the barbecue grill which was very nice and the area was neat. I love my wine so I did bring a few bottles. I asked the check in staff if they had any glass wine glasses. They told me no, they didn’t have any on the property. So I borrowed a couple from Carlee’s restaurant down the street. The next day I talk to the weekend staff and they said they had plenty of wine glasses. Not good. I believe your customer should always be put first. Especially when they visit on a Groupon or a discount offer because it may be their first and hopefully not there last exposure to your property. It’s not real hard to offer a few little extras especially when all it takes is a couple of minutes and a nice gesture to make someone happy. In this, I think the resort failed. Overall I give them about a «C».
I organize a social group in San Diego and I thought this might be a great place for a weekend or a week long outing. But due to the service I experienced, I think we could do much better going somewhere else. I don’t think this resort has learned yet that every person matters. To those weekends staff members who loaned us forks and knives for our BBQ, I applaud you. Keep up the good work. I may or may not have the pleasure of seeing you again. But you are fantastic. Some of your coworkers however could use a little guidance.

Appearance and looks id give 4 stars. The place has a western style look and feel. The lobby area is cute with board game area and an electric fireplace with seating around it. The bar is small and serves bar food and booze until around 9.
The room, did it’s purpose. Beds were very uncomfortable, hard wise. Luckily it wasn’t springy or else we would if left. The sheets are clean and warm for the cold winter months. My biggest issue. For some reason there was a constant noise throughout the night that sounded like a weed whacker was going on outside/​below us. Legit woke me up each night several times only an hour or so apart from each other. I am one who loves sleep so this really pissed me off. There’s no one on staff at those hours so basically you just have to deal.
Another issue, our heater. So noisy. Rattles for like 10 mins after it shuts down. Ended up just sleeping without it because of it.
If you are a light sleeper, get a room not next to the street because the cars and trucks going by at night are really loud.
Despite no sleep and waking up sore and cranky, We mAde the best out of our experience. We went star gazing and did some hiking. Went to the local bar one night and had a great breakfast experience.
Side note: hellhole canyon… There’s no waterfall and it’s def more than 5 miles round trip and it’s not a very rewarding trail. I advise to do anything but this one!
