cold food, no drinks, staff arguing in front of the customers. What is going on here?

This unassuming diner was surprisingly delicious. Nice, friendly service, and great food for a reasonable price. Definitely try the ribs or the tuna platter!

Visiting the Double TT Diner(which would make it TTTT hypothetically) at 1:30AM is nothing short of depressing. While I’ve lived in the area for twelve years I never thought to enter the diner because it looked dilapidated from the outside, and there is the blue bell diner(not any better) around the corner. However, at 1:30 in the morning, only the double T is open. When walking in for the first time, I was hit by the disgusting state of the restaurant. I don’t know when the last time the place had a good scrub. Also, one of the booths is just in shambles and blocked off. As for the food, I ordered my bacon to be under cooked and it came out burnt and crispy. Strike 1. By sunny side up eggs were cooked through. Strike 2. And the pancakes were not that good. I do not see a reason to come to the diner, and I feel bad for the owners because it seems clear the diner isn’t in good shape. They may want to rethink their strategy and do it fast because it may not be around much longer in its current shape.

Yyyyyeaaaahhhhhh… Anything Double TT ever did right is erased from my memory by the time I ordered a chocolate milkshake and got… wait for it… a glass of chocolate milk WITHICECUBESINIT. And the waitstaff makes me think they’ve poisoned my food.

On this particular morning I received a text message from a friend that lives in East Norriton asking if I can help jumpstart her car. Mind you it was 15 degrees outside and a bit windy at that and I was comfortable in bed. I said yes, of course(cause that’s just the person I am) and went over to her house(about a 20 minute drive). I jumped her car, we bought a new battery from PepBoys and then she bought me breakfast as a thank you. We were cold, tired, lacking coffee, and needed some breakfast. It was between this place and Ray’s Restaurant and Malt Shop. Both were nearby, both looked good to me. I hadn’t been to either place so I let her choose. She chose Double TT because the color scheme from Ray’s scared her. Seemed like a legitimate reason for me so we went to Double TT. First impressions: Honestly, it’s like any other diner that’s out there. The prices are decent(about $ 10 for two breakfasts and coffees), the wait staff is friendly(though I think too scripted — they should add some personality and pizzazz I think) and the food came out fast and hot. I decided on the Waffle Sandwich: fried eggs, bacon, swiss cheese all squished between a fluffy waffle; I’d never had one. Wow. I don’t know if it was because I was starving, lacking judgement because of no caffeine or perhaps I had thrown a dart at the menu and that’s where it landed but it was delicious. The proportion of eggs to cheese was perfect, the bacon was just a tad underdone to my perfect liking, the waffle was light and fluffy and I ate the whole thing — which doesn’t have often at breakfast. We paid our tab and left to install the battery. We installed it and I drive home. I have a nasty habit of chewing on my finger nails while I’m driving(I’m working on it!) and I did on the way home — I was bored. Through the dirt, grease, rust, and corroded battery acid, I could STILL taste the Waffle Sandwich. I think a sandwich that you can STILL taste after a half hour of struggling to install a car battery on a freezing morning should be given some kind of medal.

Always a best bet for Breakfast. Service was a little slow for diner fare. But other than that I think this is the best diner out of what is in the area. The food is well cooked, they give you plenty of condiments. I’ve only bee there for the morning selection. So my review is based on ¼th their menu. The place itself could use a major re-freshening. Olf booths, old, counter tops. It’s be nice design project becasue the trip is worth it.

My husband and I live in the area and always drive by the TT, so a couple of months ago we went there for breakfast to check it out. We’re still laughing about it because it was so awful. The food is standard diner fare, and was at least edible… but the place was an absolute pit. You’d think that with their«25 hours a day» open door, they’d find some occasional downtime to scrub the place. There was a whole variety of drips of congealed liquids and condiments dried on the wall in our booth… and the menus were worse. The menu pages are laminated, but they had started to come undone at the outer seams… and inside the split seams was brown residue from other people handling them over the years. We promised ourselves we would never go back, it’s not worth it when there are better breakfast places in the area.

it’s the double TT diner. which makes it the TTTT diner. one star for a ridiculous name. they proudly proclaim«open 25 hours a day». add one star for finding an extra hour in the day. typical diner menu, but quality is lacking compared to other diners in the area.

I had breakfast here last weekend and the food was just okay. There are certainly better places in town but it was edible. The home fries were probably the best thing on the plate only because I’m not a fan of the half burnt/half raw melded together mess that most diners serve. The home fries here are much more consistent. The only other upside is the price. Quit a few menu items were definitely a little cheaper than most diners. That’s probably because there’s an ihop right across the street. I’m a pretty low maintenance customer since I eat by myself at the bar at most places so when I say the service was terrible, you can believe it. I saw one waitress who was busting her hump with a few large tables but everyone else, including my waitress, seemed to have only one speed. The wait staff just seemed to have a general lack of interest in their work and customers. I have to give you a few examples because they are almost comical. My waitress never refilled my coffee or even looked to see that my mug was empty even though she walked right by me a dozen times to get to the kitchen. When my food came, I asked for ketchup and when she brought it from one of the other tables, she just placed it three seats down at the end of the empty bar. I had to get out of my seat to get it. She couldn’t walk the extra six feet to put it in front of me. She brought me a basket of syrup packets and a cup of open butter from another table. The butter didn’t look like it’d been used but the entire basket and all its contents were covered in spilled syrup. And even though the rest of the bar was empty, the other wait staff decided to congregate right in front of me while I’m sitting there awkwardly trying to tune out their conversation. There are much better diners in the area. My advise is to skip this one.

Just want to say the guy who helped us(Manager? Owner?) was very patient and friendly with 2 kids who didn’t know what they wanted, gave them big glasses of milk, food was fair, not great, but it was fun sitting at the bar and it was fine. Servings so large, couldn’t finish it. And it was cheap!

Okay, this is no diner!!! The same family that will serve you the same garbage at trooper diner and Astoria diner. The trooper diner was actually closed due to a suspicious sewage like backup?! Check out the health code violations on Montgomery county website. There is an odor when you walk in too…

Double TT gets five stars purely for sentimental reasons. So what if they melt kraft singles on fries for«cheese fries»? So what if the pies in the dessert display look like the same ones you saw last year? So what if the three chicken fingers cost $ 13? It is still wonderful and reminds me of good times with friends from home.

I hardly ever dis a hard working restaurant, and never EVER a diner, but here goes… I used to go to the Double TT years ago, and it was a fine, halfway decent diner, nothing to write home about, but solid, with decent diner food. I took my daughters there last Friday afternoon, and OH. MY. GOD. The place was empty, except for the disheveled couple in the corner, and a couple of people at the counter that the waitress was kibbitzing with, Friends? Family? Who knows, they weren’t customers. The waiter comes over and seats us. He was friendly, but odd, and his outfit was filthy. In fact, the whole place was unkempt, and old, and looked to be badly in need of repair. He brought crayons for the kids, and extra placemats to color on, which was nice. The food came and just seemed… old. The roast beef in my club looked like it had seen better days, and te toast must have come from the Jurassic period. My daughters steak sandwiches were pretty tasteless, but inoffensive. Fries, onion rings, check. We all decided to eat. BIGMISTAKE. A half an hour after eating I was doubled over with stomach cramps, and my daughters were complaining about their upset tummies. I suggest you avoid this place until they get their act together.

I remember all the incarnations of this place. When it was the Rainbow Diner, Queens Diner, and various others. And guess what? It’s never had particularly great food. The chicken cheesesteaks are good. That’s about it. It’s open«25 hours».which is convenient. but like.for GOOD24 hour diner food? Try Lancers. which is way further. Farther? Whatever.

OK, I will come right out and say that I love the Double TT(I call it the Quad-T [2TT = 4T]). Is there anything particularly spectacular about it? Maybe not, but I just feel very comfortable here and always have a pleasant experience. Whenever I have a Friday off(which is many Fridays during the summer), my wife and I come here for a late breakfast. Their breakfast specials are great and we both usually leave stuffed for a total check of $ 11(you can barely get breakfast for 2 at McDonald’s for that). We also, on my insistence, sit at the counter for breakfast, rather than a table. Sitting at the counter feels very small-town-y, almost like I am eating at Merlotte’s on True Blood. Anyway… The waitresses are super nice and pretty efficient at getting us coffee ASAP and bringing our food shortly after that. They also have very good lunch and dinner specials. I know that I am usually kind of a hard-grader on Unilocal, but I cannot help but give the Quad-T a 5.

I was excited to eat here. I am a big time diner fan and the building has a great looking diner feel to it. Unfortunately, my experience was so bad i don’t want to ever go back. I shiver when I drive past! The interior is just weird, dirty, grandma’s house looking from 1983. Mirrors and shiny gold and not in a «try to be nice, but cheesy» way. Instead, it was more outdated, but in a grimy way. When we first sat down we overheard the waitress asking the table next to us if the food was good. They said no. She responded with«well, I didn’t make it.» I guess that was kinda clever. So, even though I felt like I was about to order food from a «goodwill» version of a restaurant, I was willing to give the food a try. I ordered the Crab melt, which was a grilled sandwich with crab salad and melted cheese with Fries. The fries were average. The crab was the artificial kind and there was too much mayo. The cheese wasn’t fully melted. My boyfriend ordered pancakes and they weren’t cooked all the way and the eggs were cooked different than he asked. He said to me, «how can anyone mess up this kind of meal, It’s breakfast.?» I usually give a place several chances, but I was just grossed out by the Double tt. By the way, they’re open 25 hours. haha???

The Double TT Diner[1] has been recommended to me time and time again. Once, a girl on a flight told me that as soon as we landed, she was going there.(I debated going too, but considering we had just met…) Anyway, a friend wanted to brunch one Sunday, and we found ourselves here. Their parking lot was half-full, and the inside about the same. The Double TT was nicer than expected, even with typical diner fixings like a diner counter and booth seating — I was thrown off by the drapes, which looked older than me. Our food was quite edible, and came out in a flash. I enjoyed two eggs sunny-side up with Canadian bacon, white toast(pre-buttered, not melted on), and hash browns, for the princely sum of about $ 6. A glass of OJ sweetened the deal, and my friend got a similar-such meal, minus meat. The grand total, including tip, was $ 12. Nadine, our friendly server, checked up on us, and didn’t transform into a leprechaun and dive into a rainbow. When my friend wanted strawberry jam, we got some lickety-split. Best of all, we never felt rushed during our meal — we even relaxed for awhile afterwards. Double TT’s now on my list of post-drink-fest eateries. [1] Yes, their name makes me laugh, for purely juvenile reasons.

This was the place to be during high school(since it was open late, and was not Denny’s), but it didn’t have much going for it other than that. I’ve been back a scant few times since then, and while it has kinda-sorta changed, it is really the same thing. The name has changed a few times over the years, but thats about it. First, its big claim to fame is that it is open«25 Hours». Being a nerd who hung out with nerds, it was decided to hang out here during leap year(as there would, in fact, be an actual 25th hour… or something. I’m vague on the details at this point). We figured we would get some sort of prize, or that some inter-dimensional gateway would open or some crap like that. Well, that fateful hour was a good three years away when we made our pact, and needless to say it never happened. Maybe we missed out on fame and fortune but I will never know. I can’t believe I just typed all that out. Oh yea… they serve food. Its ok, with a bit of Mediterranean flair(hummus and whatnot). The food is nothing special, but not terrible. The real issue was with this really, really, really old waiter who would be there at night. You could not understand a word he said, and no matter what you ordered, you would get something else. Order eggs over easy? Here are your mozzarella sticks. Coffee? How about some oatmeal. For the life of me I can’t fathom how it went on as long as it did… but that guy was there for years. He still might be… actually, I kinda hope he is. People would just leave without paying, because who was gonna stop you? If you asked for a check you got jello. It just didn’t matter. There is no reason to go here, ever, unless you are in Blue Bell(god help you), and its late, and you are hungry. Check your calendars… if its leap year, show up at the 25th hour and let me know what happens. Does the old waiter turn into a unicorn? Do you end up getting what you ordered? I’m dying to know.
