Dr. Rand is the BEST! I love her so much. Super personable and knowledgable!!! I highly recommend her. She has been my dermatologist for a few years now & she knows her shit when it comes to skin! Switched from another BH dermatologist who misdiagnosed me twice. Dr. Rand is thorough, with a pleasing bedside manner. Never used her for fillers purely medical. She also has decent office hours realizing that lots of people actually work and often can only visit the doctor before 9 or after 5. What a concept!

So I saw this ad for this new body sculpting machine and after researching it, ended up at the office of Dr. Rand. What I really appreciated about this office was the fact that they were very honest with me, and set my expectations. Both the doctor and most wonderful nurse explained the procedure in detail and made sure that I understood what was possible and more importantly, what wasn’t. I signed up for the series of treatments and couldn’t be more pleased.

Dr. Rand is probably the best dermatologist I’ve ever seen…
She’s a great doctor, thorough, kind and compassionate, and best of all, she really listens to her patients.

All too often people only want to complain, so I promised myself after my last visit to Dr. Rand’s that I would come home and say something positive. As a long time patient of Dr. Rand, I can honestly say that she is thorough, compassionate and knowledgeable. I have seen her for everything from a simple rash to cosmetic treatments, and I am always happy with the outcome. P. S. They just upgraded their skin care line, and it is amazing!

Dr. Rand is really good at what she does. I’ve seen her 3 times and found her personable and very open to my questions every time. It is a busy office, yes, but I never felt rushed. Her desk staff is attentive and I have never had to wait more that 5 minutes to be seen. I came in for a biopsy which turned out to be benign. She was recommended by my primary care physician and I’m a very satisfied patient.

As an update to my previous post: It turned out that I wasn’t even breaking out from the retinol, as I had thought, but I actually had milia… Dr. Rand prescribed me a topical antibiotic, which isn’t the right treatment for what I had. If she had taken the time to actually look at my face, I could have gotten the milia lanced right then and there… So frustrating!

Dr. Rand was referred to me by a dermatologist I had back in boston.
I’m not one for fillers, injections or any of that jazz so my experience is gonna be pretty limited.
I am about as pale as you’re going to find someone in SoCal who isn’t Marylin Manson or Dita Von Teese and as such sun damage is a concern of mine. I’ve seen Dr. Rand twice, the first time was super awesome, she was beyond attentive, loaded me up with samples and I was good to go.
The second time (which admittedly was end of the day on a Friday) felt super rushed. I have a stupid skin infection, which she gave me meds for, as well as some new facial cleansers (yay) and while i was happy. i REALLY felt rushed. I’m guessing it’s because I’m not a big money client since I don’t drink, tan, wear makeup, and overall have really healthy skin.
That said, I really do like her and her office and will keep going there, but maybe no more end of day appointments on Fridays.

Dr Rand is extremely competent. I have been going to her for several years. True, she can be quick, she can afford to be quick because she knows what she’s doing and doesn’t waste time. When something is tricky or requires her to slow down, she does. I had a basal cell removed very close to my eyebrow a few years back. She was ever careful and present. When it came back two years later, she sent me to a plastic surgeon. I trust her expertise, knowledge and dedication… and plan on taking advantage of all the new anti-​aging goodies!

I was referred to Dr. Rand by the Bob Hope Medical Center. My doctor there said «She’s the best, but be sure to stop her and ask her questions if you have them. Otherwise she will speed right out of the room.» Totally on point. Dr. Rand is wonderful and I appreciate her swiftness, but she does move a little quickly for most people. I don’t think she is overlooking anything, but if you go in for 3 things, be sure to have a list handy so you can make sure she checks everything out. Otherwise she will zip off to her next patient.
Also, they seem to specialize in anti-​aging treatments, botox, etc (I’ve never had any of that, but I noticed what others were mostly having done). I needed more along the lines of acne treatment and ‘suspicious mole’ check-​ups. She did a fine job, but I don’t think it’s really her specialty.

Dr Rhonda Rand is one of the brighter doctors I have encountered. It is a shame that her practice is so poorly run and her very strong talent has been steered away from medical dermatology to cosmetic dermatology.
We went to dr Rand for almost 18 months. the shortest wait we ever had was 1 hour — the longest 1 hour and 45 minutes. The last time I took my two small children for exzcema treatment, I called and asked if she was on time or running behind. They told me she was on time for my 10 am appintment.
We arrived at 9:45 — at 10:30, I asked how long she would be. I was told 15 minutes. At 10:45, I asked — and was told 15 minutes. At 11, I walked into the hall and the Dr was right there. I asked her how long it would be. She said 390 minutes.
I then walked tomnthe front desk and said we were leaving. They asked why and I said that they did not tell né the truth about her schedule that day. There answer was that patients had to adapt to the Dr schedule, not the other way around. They then told me that they were charging me for a missed appointment.
I told them that I would advise the insurance company to not pay.
Really sad that she has decided to go down this path!

Dr. Rand and her staff are amazing, very attentive and comforting. I went in yesterday for Zeltiq fat removal, the hottest new technique on the market, it was so easy, basically did work on my Blackberry during the procedure. Results take a bit to see but I’m really excited. No need to do lipo with the high costs and downtime, I recommend Dr. Rand for Zeltiq. Run don’t walk there!

I was excited that they had an appointment the same day for a strange mole I have on my face and that they took my insurance… so I drove an hour in the rain, around crazy Los Angeles drivers to find that they misinformed me and I needed a referral from my regular doctor first… never discussed this with me on the phone, happy to do it the proper way but they forgot to mention this important info. So they said I could still see Dr. Rand if I was willing to pay the $ 250 doctor visit and bill my insurance myself… NO WAY!!! YOU WON’T GET MY BUSINESS!!!

Dr. Rand was great! Not only was Dr. Rand very personable and knowledgeable, but her office staff was also courteous and prompt. She and her staff made me feel comfortable since the moment I walked in the door. I felt as if I had known them for years. Everytime I call for an appointment, they are always so accomodating and friendly. I have recommended Dr. Rand to both my family and friends and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a dermatologist. She specializes in anything from cosmetic procedures to skin conditions. Overall, she is an incredible doctor. If you are looking for a dermatologist, you should definitely give her a try!

I saw Dr. Rand for approx. 6 months, and neither the front desk staff nor Dr. Rand remembered me at my visits. My skin condition did not improve from seeing Dr. Rand. I would recommend that you keep searching for another dermatologist who will show more care toward patient treatment.

I do agree with the post below that that the front desk staff seemed to not remember me, but Dr. Rand and her assistant always seemed to remember me! I like coming to doctor Rand because she is pretty friendly and straight forward. She has no problem answering my questions, or removing moles or anything that I ask. (I have had a couple of really crappy dermatologists.) Dr. Rand is also good about wanting to see you back for follow-​ups. The only not so great things are that they don’t take many insurances (they suggest to submit your own claims to your insurance, which is what I do for Blue Cross and it seems to work out). One more thing, appointments seem easy to get. I would recommend people to at least give her a try!

At first I liked this place, but over time I began to feel alienated because I would go in for visits every 2 – 3 weeks and they never seemed to remember anything about me. It was like I was a new patient each and every time.
I always felt like I was being rushed. Like I was taking up their precious time. They overbook. On my last and final visit they put me in a back room while I waited for a procedure and forgot me there for almost two hours. I asked a couple times what was going on and they said she’d be right in. When talking to my fiancé later (who sat in the waiting room), he said that they saw every person that came in after me, leaving me till last.
When she finally came in to do my procedure (failing to apologize for the long wait), she rushed through it and as soon as she was finished was out of the room like a bat out of hell. Didn’t offer me soap and a towel to clean my face or lotion to put on like the nurse has done the last time. I had to feel around and hope I had the right soap and then dry my face with rough paper towels.
Definitely won’t be setting foot in that office again. I am looking for a new dermatologist.
