Very Disappointed. I have a very complicated case, as I was born missing some adult teeth. I came to Dr. Toubia after about 20 years of dreading every photo taken of me because I refused to smile with my teeth. It was literally a life long goal of mine to finally have nice teeth.
After having braces and implants, as instructed by Dr. Toubia, we went over a care plan to decide our next course of action. I was told that I had much work to be done and to complete all that needed to be done including crowns, implants, and veneers, I was looking at about $ 20k just for my top teeth. Since I did not have even close to that in disposable income at the time, the Dr. explained to me that there was an alternative and more temporary option that over all would cost about $ 8k just for the top. Instead of permanent crowns I would get temporary crowns and rather than veneers I would get chair side bonding. It was explained to me that this temporary option would last a few years and that I could eventually save up for something more permanent.
Once the work was complete, I was extremely disappointed with the outcome. It looked like I had chicklettes for teeth. (See picture below) I went back two more times (16 more hours) to get to a point where my teeth were at least somewhat acceptable. It seems that every time I explained my dissatisfaction, I was more or less annoying or bothering the Dr. This left me frustrated and depressed that I had spend what to me was a large sum of money…(I am guessing since he is in BH, most of his clients are very wealthy and wouldn’t consider $ 9k a lot of money but I certainly do) and was very disappointed with the outcome.
This is the most disturbing part of the entire situation… about 4 months after this all happened, one of my temporaries was loose. I want back to the Dr. so he could fix it, at which time he tells me that I need to start thinking about something more permanent. I was shocked. I just spent $ 8k on my teeth and you’re now telling me just months later that I need something more permanent? Despite being completely in shock, I sat down as he handed me the «permanent solution» to my top and bottom teeth which came out to about $ 40k. I literally starting crying. Dr. Toubia felt bad that he might have mislead me so he offered to give me a 10% discount. Again… Are you kidding me?
There are really no words to describe how disappointed and regretful I was, that between braces, implants, and bonding (all at the direction of Dr. Toubia), I had spend over $ 20k out of my own pocket. This amount of money took me nearly years to save up, and here I am… only my top teeth temporarily acceptable at best, and looking at another $ 40k. There is no way I would recommend him to anyone I care about nor would I ever go back. Even though I have lost so much time and money, I can not give another penny to someone I don’t trust. To him, I am sure I am just another client… To me… this is my life and I only have one. Not going to waste it in his chair.

Has a magic way of giving you a numbing shot without feeling any pain. Seriously.

Back in the late nineties, I found that every dentist I was going to was doing very mediocre work. When a good friend of mine told me that she assisted an amazing dentist in Beverly Hills, and my insurance would cover it, I gave Dr. Toubia a try. Wow. Not only is he thorough, precise, and knowledgable, but he refuses to perform at anything less than the top level. I would say that he’s an artist. Over the years, I’ve had various things done to my front teeth (I accidentally broke them in a bike accident many years ago), and people tell me all the time what a nice set of teeth I have.
His work is very natural looking, you won’t look like some fake Hollywood actor wannabe. Unless that’s what you want, ha! I completely trust Dr. Toubia with my mouth, and I’ll see him until he retires, that’s for sure. You cannot go wrong seeing him, he is that good. And his hygienists are all of equal caliber, and on board with his level of thoroughness and inspection. He will painstakingly work on your teeth until the results are perfect.

This review is long over due, Dr. Toubia was recommended to me through a friend who raved about him and boy he was right. After seeing a few dentist I finally went to Dr. Toubia for some tooth pain that the other dentist couldn’t help me with. From the second I met him I felt comfortable and as if I was in the best hands. He fixed my tooth and made it look better then before he really is a dental genius. I am also very cautious about any toxic materials being put in my body not only did he listen to my concerns and take them seriously he did his own research to find the right product for me so that I felt comfortable. I really couldn’t ask for a better dentist. To top it off the entire front office is amazing as well, an amazing practice all around.

I just went there for the first time for a cleaning and it was great. I got a real thorough cleaning and Dr. Toubia was really professional. Office was clean and the two girls up front, especially Bridget, were so warm and welcoming. This IS my new dentist.

I have been going to Dr Toubia for 20 years. I drive over an hour to get there since I moved away from Beverly Hills ten years ago.
Dr Toubia is unquestionably the best Dentist in Beverly Hills. Everything he does is 100% with the upmost precision and done to the absolute highest standards. His work is done with longevity in mind. He is the only Dentist I have ever been to where every step of the procedure is done perfectly to the highest and strictest quality.
I had a full mouth restoration with the Doctor 15 years ago and spent $ 35,000. My caps are still terrific after all these years.
Great attitude, caring touch, total dedication to the patient.
You can’t find a better dentist than this guy. Period.

HE’S AMAZING! I was referred to Dr Albert Toubia by my friend after he noticed my chipped tooth. I called right away to make an appointment and the receptionist was nice enough to squeeze me in for the next day! When I arrived at the office the staff was super nice and showed me right into the exam room. When the Doctor came in he first introduced himself, checked my front chipped tooth and took some pictures. He asked me about my past medical history and other questions about the tooth and then explained further what’s the best way to fix it. He promised me that everything will be fine (guessed he noticed I was nervous). Anyway I didn’t feel A THING! NOTHING! He filed my tooth, took off all the bonding the previous dentist put on and put a new one. He kept asking me how I was doing while explaining every step and at the end checked my bite like a million times (making sure it’s perfect). At the end he gave me the mirror and asked me what I thought. I’m kind of crazy when it comes to my teeth and usually have a million complaints but I couldn’t find a single thing wrong with it! I am so happy I found Dr Toubia and think he’s one of the best Dentists!

The best Dentist I have ever had, and I had a very serious fear of the Dentist and he has made everything better. Not only is he at the top of his game but has a heart of GOLD!
Go to him, he is honest and seriously the best.

I was happy to have found Dr. Toubia and his staff after visiting a couple other area dentists, going as far as having xrays and estimates on work done. I get routine cleanings, but this time around I was ready to resolve cavity problems.
I appreciate Dr. Toubia’s approach, which is informative and conservative. For example, a dentist may have an aggressive approach to cavities, and drill out much more of the tooth than would really be necessary. Then there is the question of fillings versus sealants. The doctor’s finesse in this situation really speaks to his professionalism and expertise.
During the procedure, he was as informative as I needed to be (having a lifelong phobia of needles). Never have I had a shot, in my mouth or otherwise, be as pleasant (yes, pleasant), as that shot was.
At the end, during the bite down, I noticed nothing to change my bite. I did notice a slight change, but for some reason both sides seemed to be parallel. I double-​checked later when the numbness had worn off, and was pleased with my bite as it felt normal and, honestly, that was great.
All dentists in this neighborhood are good at what they do, but for any dental work, cleanings to cavities, do yourself a favor and visit Dr. Toubia’s office.

I have been seeing Dr. Toubia for my entire life. That I had zero cavities for over thirty years is a credit to his excellent care and to that of his professional staff. His expertise is unparalleled, and his jovial demeanor make the experience a pleasure every time. Thank you Dr. Toubia and staff!

Wow! I’ve been seeing Dr Toubia since 2000 and to see that in 2011 he has no reviews both surprises me and doesn’t surprise me at the same time. It is a surprise because he is such an talented and honest dentist yet I can’t see people writing «Dr „A“ or „Bertie“ Rocks» as if they were writing on a Facebook wall. It would be demeaning to see that with Dr. Toubia. If you are reading this I’m assuming you are in need of a dentist and either do not have a good recommendation, or you do and are doing some due diligence. Either way I feel for you since we, laypeople who did not go to dental or medical school, never know the true integrity and quality of the treatment we receive or will receive until we have to seek a second opinion. Here is my story and review.
A couple of days ago my wife was talking to one of her friends and it came out that a dentist in Brentwood, who went by Dr «First initial» (after i but before k), had her believe that she needed to get 8 new crowns and later it turned out the entire job was faulty. My wife’s ears perked up since this Dr «First initial» was our former dentist and we had a horrible yet similar experience. This dentist convinced me that I needed a root canal and half-​crown on tooth #3, four-​tooth bridge and all my fillings replaced. When I complained that air would pass through the top of my new bridge he gave me the «needs more time» excuse. So I continued to randomly whistle while I talked waiting for it to stop one day. The root canal was done in his office by another dentist he knew from the Navy that was «trained» to do them. Once the half crown broke and it was replaced with a full crown, I felt pain and major sensitivity chewing hard stuff like cereal and crackers. After several visits of him adjusting my bite to the point where he just shaved down the crown so it wouldn’t touch the bottom molar yet I still suffered the same pain and sensitivity, I decided to seek a second opinion from Dr. Rami Etessami, a highly respected endodontist. Dr. Etessami, immediately told me that my mouth had serious problems. It was the worst news I could hear since I spent the past two years getting a complete overhaul on my mouth. He said the margins of my new bridge were open, the crown was leaking and the root canal had to be redone. He highly suggested that I find another dentist and seek yet another opinion if I didn’t trust what he said. I didn’t know who I could turn to since I found Dr «First initial» through a recommendation from a close friend. After asking Dr Etessami, he referred me to Dr Toubia.
During the consultation with Dr Toubia, he took a full set of x-​rays and went over everything he saw wrong with my mouth. He took out a camera pen and showed me on a monitor the problematic areas I could not see like the back of my bridge. He pointed out the open margins. He gave me a game plan with a rough time schedule of all the steps. My four-​tooth bridge had to become a six-​tooth bridge. But first I had to get two root canals and either soft-​tissue or bone grafting, plus I had to get lower braces for the second time of my life. He took pictures of the bad dentistry work of Dr «First initial» and we submitted them to my dental insurance. Before we could start, insurance wanted to me see a third party dentist. They quickly sided with my claim. For all specialty work listed above Dr Toubia did not attempt to pocket the money and do the work himself, instead he selectively referred me to professionals where he believed they best excelled in their respective fields. Root canals were sent back to Dr. Etessami (BTW he pulled out and showed me a piece of my nerve that the Navy dentist missed and that was part of the cause of sensitivity problems for tooth #3). Soft-​tissue grafting was done by Dr. Needles in Santa Monica. Dr Collons for orthodontia. And years later, an implant was done by Dr Farnoosh. The reason was I listed this is because for all of those besides the orthodontia he could have sent me back to Dr Etessami who recommend him but he didn’t. I felt and still do fell safe in the hands of Dr. Toubia. I had a fear of my mouth/​smile looking different going from permanent bridge to temp and then back to permanent. But Dr. Toubia temp work looked better than most of the permanent bridges of others I had seen. The transition was unnoticeable by my wife’s and my critical eyes. He says «Hi and how’s it going?» then he gets to business. Not to say Dr Toubia has bad bedside manners because he doesn’t but there is no flash with him. No Hollywood. No name dropping. He is a perfectionist and professional who takes pride in his work. After every cleaning, the hygienist has to call Dr Toubia so he can inspect your teeth before you leave. The office staff are very professional. You will have to pay your share though, unlike my former dentist’s office where your maxed out insurance would cover your portion, but he is worth every dollar.

He’s the Best! I got veneers from him and they are fantastic. He is an artist and cavities or any drilling is completely pain-​free! I highly recommend!
