History

Established in 2010.

My journey into photography has been a long one. It began when my boyfriend (now husband!) and I quit our jobs, bought an old truck, a camera and headed south on what became a 20-​month journey around the world. Along the way, I realized that words were never enough to share what I was seeing with my mother in Mexico. Photography became the way I could fill in the open spaces that language left and express the soul of a place. After more than 50,000 shots and a fair amount of trial-​and-​error, I returned home. The photographs eventually became a book, El Mundo para mi Mama (The World for my Mother).

Photographs should be more than beautiful. They should be windows — windows into moments that say something about important about who we are and the world we live in. My job is to open up those windows and capture the moments they reveal.
