Angela is an instructor and coach who helps parents turn the most challenging experiences with their kids into opportunities for healing. Your sweet, loving, cooperative child is in there, and Angela can help you find him or her again.

Using the approach of Parenting by Connection, Angela teaches a practical set of listening tools that help children recover from upsets and regain their inner equilibrium. Parents get to see that once connected, their kids cooperate, care, learn, and thrive.

Angela also works with separated or divorced co-​parents to develop clear parenting agreements, establish methods for cooperating and sharing responsibilities, get on the same page in their approach to parenting, and keep their conflicts away from the kids.

Angela’s husband Niels has joined her in her work with parents, and together they are building Parent Connect East Bay, a membership community for people who practice Parenting by Connection.

History

Established in 2012.

Six-​and-​a-​half years ago I gave birth to a baby who would not sleep, would not nurse, and cried around the clock. No one knew why she was so agitated; there was nothing medically wrong. After three months, I was completely desperate. Luckily I came across Parenting by Connection, and our whole life began to change. Parenting by Connection is founded on the scientifically proven understanding that connection is vital for children, and it teaches parents how to connect and reconnect to help our kids thrive. I found that these tools regularly transformed our most difficult moments into opportunities for healing. Certified as a Parenting by Connection Instructor and Coach in 2012, today I am delighted to bring the same healing and renewed hope to my clients. My husband now works alongside me, and we are building Parent Connect East Bay, a community of parents who practice Parenting by Connection.

Business Owner

I want to live in a world where children grow up feeling cherished and safe, where parents feel relaxed and pleased with being parents, and where families can enjoy life in vibrant, loving communities.

I was certified by Hand in Hand Parenting as an Instructor and Coach in 2012. Since then, I have been teaching and coaching parents in Parenting by Connection because I have seen how this approach transforms the lives of children and parents, creating family cultures of greater ease, compassion and laughter.

My husband has recently joined me in this work, and together we are having a blast creating Parent Connect East Bay, a great community of people who practice Parenting by Connection.

Before becoming a parent I worked for many years in the youth development field, helping in efforts to create systems change in the organizations and public institutions that serve our country’s most underprivileged youth.

I have had a life long passion for improving the lives of children.
