Computer 1

Took my 2011 IMac in and had them install a new Solid State Drive. They did a great job. Copied everything from the old drive to the new one and it is FAST!

I had major problems with my computer and brought it it for repair — they did everything possible to fix it and in the end referred me to the manufacturer. The reason they get 5 stars is because after all the time and effort they invested they would not take my money! I wish every business had such high ethics!

A place a old person can go to get voodoo in computers to work. and the prices are great.
And you don’t have to cross a bridge to get to it.

Once again the guys at Computer 1 impressed the heck out of me. Gave me an extremely prompt, inexpensive fix to my laptop issue when I was stressed about getting it back in a timely manner to avoid interfering with my school work. It also really helps that they’re super nice, down to earth, and trustworthy. Thanks again guys for your great service.

These guys are amazing!!! I thought for sure my computer had crashed when I updated to Windows 10 and I thought I lost all my data. But the guy from Computer 1 came to my rescue and was able to find the problem and fix it.
They get my vote for best ever!

I never leave reviews but I have to for Computer 1. I called about 9:30am this morning as my computer wouldn’t charge, thought it might be the charger socket on the computer but I really didn’t know. Well, they don’t open until 10 but I thought maybe I could leave a message, I really needed my computer fixed as I use if for work Monday through Thursday and HAVE to have it working. He answered the phone and told me that I could come right then. WHAT? I have never had a company tell me to come in before business hours. That right there spoke volumes! When I got there just a few minutes after 10 I was greeted with kind hellos and smiles by the guys behind the counter. Fortunately, after working on it for a bit he determined it was my battery and not the charger port that was causing the problem so he sent me on my way, free of charge! I had also wanted him to look at my daughters computer that is only 14 months old but wouldn’t get past the Dell welcome screen. I left it with him and said no rush, just look at it when you can, next week is fine. Well, 10 minutes after leaving the shop he called me with a diagnosis… hard drive is bad. That was hard to handle since the computer was only 6 months old when this problem happened and I was in no hurry to look at it since the warranty had expired and she was okay without it. Well, I gave him the go ahead because school will be starting soon and she would need it. Again, saying no rush. Well, it’s about 2:30pm and I just got a call that her computer is fixed and ready to be picked up!
Not only are these guys kind, they are seriously honest and if they feel it would be more than the computer is worth to fix it, they tell you that. In an age where everyone is out to make a buck, these guys would rather the customer be happy! Good job Computer 1!!! You have gained a customer for life!!!

I came here after several glowing reviews from friends with computer problems. I tend to keep my computers (and my cars) until they just aren’t worth the hassle anymore and my latest computer finally crashed. They were able to set up my new computer and transfer all my data over in a day, no hassle. Answered all my questions about buying a new computer too, no charge. Very good advice! They depend on local business and go all out in the service arena. Very decent prices too! It is wonderful to finally have a repair shop in town that is so trustworthy and dependable. It is a relief actually — like finding a dependable car mechanic! They always tell you what is worth the money and what isn’t and where to spend if you are on a budget for the best value. I have been recommending them to all my friends in town, and I suspect they will have plenty of business as long as they want it!

These guys are great! Good prices and they won’t BS, if they don’t think something can be fixed, they will NOT let you waist your money.

These guys are THE BEST! Took my macbook pro in because it kept crashing and wouldn’t boot up. They installed a newer, bigger hard drive for me and we thought was the end. Well… after about a week of it working OK, my laptop began doing the same exact thing. I took it back to them and they diagnosed the problem as also the hard drive cable that connects to the motherboard was kaput as well. They replaced the cable for me at NO CHARGE for me having to bring it back! They have my business for as long as I am in the Bay Area :)

Truly a 5-​Star business! When my hard drive died, Dan was extremely helpful in getting my files backed up and transferred to an external drive. He was nice to work with, explained everything, the prices are really reasonable, and he delivered the backed up files a day early. I can’t thank you enough.

I took my laptop in expecting that it just needed a password prompt removed. When I dropped it off they quoted me an hour to fix it. After Dan determined that it was actually a corrupted user profile he called and told me that it couldn’t be fixed in an hour and depending on the issue I he may have to reload the operating system and my apps. I was delighted when he called me the next morning an hour before the shop opened to tell me it was fixed! They charged me the same as they had quoted for password removal. I had a very good experience with them and would definitely recommend them to others!

I took my iMac in for some TLC. I got a call a couple of hours later saying that the motherboard was done, and it would take $ 500 to replace, or I could buy a new computer. It was the worst news I heard all week. And in spite of the bad news, I’m rating this place 5 stars, because the service I received from these guys was amazing. I almost wish I had problems with my computer monthly, so that I could give these guys business. Seriously, I’m never going anywhere else for my PC needs.

We had a 3 year old computer which had been inundated with a virus. They removed the virus but the computer was extremely slow! We brought it down a couple of times as it was still so slow. The computer worked fine in the shop so we determined the problem was at home. My husband and I even replaced the Xfinity modem, thinking that might be the problem. No such luck! Matt offered to make a «house call», which we accepted. He diagnosed the problem (evidently the modem and computer weren’t on the same wave length) and got it working like new within a half hour. The most amazing part of this is the fact that he didn’t charge for the house call! I highly recommend you support this local gem with any of your computer issues.

This place rocks! Everyone who works there is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating and they don’t treat you like an idiot when you don’t exactly know what the problem is. If you are not knowledgeable, they could so easily take advantage of you but they don’t. After they diagnose and fix the problem, they take the time to explain everything to you so you can understand it!
I have friends who drive across the bridge to come over here to do business with them. They are the very best. I have been going there since they opened and I wouldn’t even think about going anywhere else. You can’t go wrong here.

Who needs to cross the pond and drive to rarified Walnut Creek to rub shoulders with Apple Hoi Polloi and the attendant sticker shock at the Genius Bar when we’ve got Dan and the competent geeks at Computer 1 right here in Benicia? They did an excellent job of resurrecting my Mac Book from the dead, prices are great, and evaluation is free. Who does that these days?! I could spend an hour just looking at all the cool stuff hanging in the shop, but don’t think for a moment these guys are tinkerers. The shop is totally legit and they are top computer troubleshooters and repair specialists. If Walnut Creek et al had any sense, they’d be bringing their PCs and Macs HERE :)

Just moved to California and my PC would not come on after the 2200 mile drive in the dead of summer heat. After weeks of dreading the news that I was going to have to buy a new one I finally called Computer 1 and asked for a house call. I was told a house call would be $ 99 but if I brought the tower in they would look at it for free. A day later I did and it cost me $ 5 and 10 minutes of time to have my computer back in perfect working order. They techs were friendly, professional, and helpful, even carrying my computer back to the car for me. I cannot say enough good things about them and feel so much better knowing there’s someone nearby who can get me through any future hardware crisis. I HIGHLY recommend!

My ancient PC finally died. They diagnosed the problem in about 10 seconds– bad motherboard. Crap. They pulled everything off my PC and put it all onto my MacBook Pro, including transferring all of my old Outlook emails from Windows XP into new Outlook for Mac 2013 edition– something that heretofore had been impossible for me. No charge for that. Fast. Efficient. Professional. Super courteous and respectful. Knowledgeable– answered all of my annoying questions with easy to understand language. Pulled the old hard drives for me, suggested I keep them as a permanent backup. No charge. Finished in a few hours. All that for $ 75??? I will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks guys, amazing work best service I’ve ever experienced (I used to have geek squad coverage– nightmare).

Can’t say enough about what a great experience it was when we took our lap top to this business. They knew what to do to fix all the problems going on in the computer. Called right away with an estimate and fixed it within 24hrs. We were educated about things to do to keep the computer running smooth and the desktop was set up to make everything much easier. We were encouraged to return it we had any problems. The store was clean and organized (I have been to computer repair shops that kind of scared me because there was so much stuff everywhere you could barely get in the door) The price was more than reasonable. Benicia is lucky to have in our town.

These guys are amazing, specially Dan Graf, very genuine guy, very genuine and honest with his opinion. I really liked him.
They had my computer up and running in two days, that is really good since both my Mac Pro’s hard drive and DVD/​CD rom were fried or damaged due to the repeated droppings.
I really liked how they had the parts in over night. They also have computers there incase computer gamers come in to play. Very helpful people, they are definitely part of the community.
By the way is that really a WWII German helmet on the side of the counter???

They extracted the data from my deceased hard drive and copied it into my new computer. They set up the desktop on the new machine, including antivirus software, and gave me a Windows 8 $.05 tour. Oh, and they gave me some adapter cables when my monitor didn’t like the new computer hook-​ups. Price for all of this? $ 100.
Pretty cool if you ask me.
