Helping Hands Moving and Hauling

Chris and his team were awesome. Super nice guys and took take of everything we needed. Definitely someone I would refer to anyone who asks in the future.

I want to commend Chris & Eric for coming out and moving a clothes dryer from upstairs to the downstairs garage and moving another clothes dryer from the garage to the upstairs laundry room! I was concerned about my newly installed «wood» flooring, on the stairs as well! Chris says, Oh no problem, we’ll just carry them up and down! They also hauled away a non-​working washer! They were done in less than 45 minutes. I’m a true fan of «Helping Hands Moving & Hauling! Very mannerable and speak «perfect» english!

So, I have a 1 bedroom and moved from Lakewood to Buena Park.
I emailed Chris on New Year’s Eve and was not expecting a reply, but that evening, he texted me. That was pretty cool. So via text, we sorted costs and set a date. easy peasy.
The prices are reasonable. There’s a 3 hour minimum and you pay for gas (I won’t mention the cost of the gas because I’m not sure if that’s just a base or based on my location). And they come with a humongous truck and 3 guys…
So, the night before the move, I just texted him to confirm the move in the morning.
The morning of, they were almost 45 minutes late, but it wasn’t a big deal to me because my husband and I were still doing some last minute packing and whatnot.
But LET ME TELL YOU… once they arrived, they immediately got to work and (I swear) within 15 minutes, all my boxes were in the truck and we had mainly only had the large furniture to move. I was impressed. They pack the truck really efficiently. They got my whole apartment moved in one trip. My entire move took exactly 3 hours, and my total was less than $ 300. I was satisfied. I would recommend them to anyone looking to move.
They are pretty awesome!

These guys are awesome! I was pregnant so couldn’t do much around the house! Chris came with another gentlemen to help me set up my dining table and move the crib to a different room. Friendly, fast and professional! Definitely will recommend them for any moving project!

Chris and his crew were awesome. They were efficient and very professional with moving our personal belongings they knew exactly what they were doing. Started at 8am and finished by 12 noon. It was one of the smoothest moves We ever had. I will use them again whenever we move.

I had Chris, Eric, and Jessie for my move. Had a pod of 7×7 into a 5×10 storage. They did the move in about 1.5 hours or less. Chris was very kind and understanding since my pod delivery time was ‘estimated’. I just kept updating Chris about the status and he was very nice about it.
They did not bring just the muscle — but also had common sense in regards to where to put the items and what not.
They are a great team! I just told them where I wanted to put the items. I had to rearrange a few items — but they were very understanding and helped me rearrange several times!
I highly recommend them as your movers. They have a positive attitude, great vibe, very understanding and awesome.
*Min two hour move — but they finished about 1.5 hours/​less.

Awesome!!! very easy to schedule and best movers I’ve ever had. I have a lot of stuff and heavy things but they moved it all and were very detailed oriented. I’ve never had a move where nothing was scratched or broken. I was shocked at how well they handled furniture and were extra cautious to not hit walls when going up stairs. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to all my friends. My crew was eric, randy, and mario. All three guys were awesome and made the move as easy as it could be considering all the stuff I had.

Like several others, I met these guys through a craigslist ad for used moving boxes. It’s a really good marketing strategy apparently. .. Because I chatted with them, they had good rates, got a business card, looked up their reviews and decided to hire them.
The first step — scheduling — was a bit tight only because I really wanted to move on a specific weekend and they had a nor-​cal to so-​cal trip planned for the following day. Luckily we were able to get it sorted out and scheduled the move to work with both of our calendars.
For the move, I opted to go with three guys because the cost wasn’t that much different (~$ 10/​hour extra) and I figured it would get the job done that much faster — which would save me money in the end.
Eric showed up with Mario and Jesse. I found out that it was Eric’s _​_​_​_​_​ (*redacted for privacy*…ha) birthday, but he was still there moving all of my stuff around. Mario had a great sense of humor but was very professional and efficient at the same time. Jesse was also nice, efficient, and professional, though not as chatty (which is fine!).
There was utmost care in wrapping and protecting my furniture. Not a scratch was added (that wasn’t there before they showed up!). Eric was in charge of stacking the truck and I swear that this guy could easily get to the highest level of Tetris. Everything had a place, and nothing jostled in the slightest during the move.
Another thing is that Eric does recycle things such as wires and other e-​waste. So he was able to take away some of the old wiring left behind by our electrician who fixed some things up in the garage. That was a win-​win because he gets some (but not much) money for the metals, and I don’t need to transport all of the old wire!
There is **only one** reason why I’m giving a 4-​star review, and that’s because their truck is only a 16-​footer (I think it was 16 — if you look at the photos on Unilocal,you can see the size of the truck). This meant that two trips were needed to complete my move. If they had a slightly bigger truck, then it could have been done in one trip. Luckily I was only going from Long Beach to Lakewood, so not much time was added, but if you were moving further, it’s definitely something to consider.
When all was said and done, the total cost was in the low $ 400’s, but we added a tip to get it into the mid-​high $ 400’s. I’m not sure whether tipping is «customary» with movers, and I am not much of one for tipping just for the sake of tipping. However, such a great job was undertaken by these three that a tip was necessary (from my pov). I definitely recommend these movers.

I met the guys at Helping Hands through a Craigslist post for used moving boxes. While picking up the boxes, they quoted us a price that was extremely competitive with the quotes I’d received thus far, so I booked them as soon as I put in my notice at my apartment.
Chris, Mario, and Blake were absolutely fantastic. They were on time, extremely efficient, and fun to chat to throughout the day. They even carried my humongous couch up two flights of stairs! They finished my 1 bedroom move in exactly 4 hours, and could not have been better to work with. Highly recommended!

These guys were great! Nice careful movers. Did an amazing job with very heavy bulky furniture down and up stairs. They figured out how to maneuver our largest piece by hanging it over the stairs briefly so they could turn it to get it through the door. Incredible! Wish I would’ve gotten that on u-​tube. Chris and Mario were kind with my talkative kids the whole time and my kids thoroughly enjoyed watching them in action and helping. Moving can be stressful. But these guys made it far less stressful and enjoyable for our whole family. I would highly recommend this team. Very competent skilled and the best priced movers.

Superb guys! Really cool and really strong. They moved my bunk bed and piano, and did a great job with it. Wonderful service and a pleasure to be around.

Called these guys back again after I bought my couch and a huge ass lamp. They were able to pick up and deliver my stuff within 24 hours. Super last minute.

These guys were awesome! Eric and Jessie unloaded the 16′ «packed to the gills» pod into my house in record time (during a heat wave) with no complaints. Since they were not there for the minimum hours I had to pay for they were kind enough to assemble my dining room table for me! Thanks guys! I would definitely recommend them. Kind, courteous, respectful of my things and a great attitude!

These guys were great and super efficient. I called Chris and he texted me back with the best price compared to every one else. When the move day come they arrived on time and got everything done really quick, they were also really patient when we had some issues with the new apartment.
The move was into an upstairs apartment and they carried everything from a fridge to a bed up the stairs. They even disassembled and reassembled the bed from the old place to the new!
Overall I’d recommend Helping Hands to any one that wants a hassle free move and guys that go the extra mile.

Helping Hands were great. I found them here on Unilocal and checked out their website and liked what I saw. I contacted the owner, Chris, via email and he promptly responded with all the info I needed to make a decision. Correspondence was even easier with being able to text message him.
The men arrived on time and were very nice. Nothing was broken and they took excellent care of our things. We were moving from a 2^nd level apartment to a house.
We had absolutely no problems with this company and their employees and will definitely use them again if we ever need some helping hands!
