Five times in the last year and a half I have been In for an oil change. I might add it has always been 0n a saturday, so today i go in its thursday and try to get an oil change with my planet super saver coupon. Well I am told that they no longer honer them and a gave me line about how they sold them to people and they had not authorized the sell. Well I have used 5 of these coupons over the last year and a half. I have never been told this before, If the coupons were bogus then why honer 5 already. Well they finely said they would honer my coupon but it would be the last, even though I have two more along with a bunch of other free and discounted services. They told me to seek a refund form Planet Super Saver. well they told me all sales are final after 3 days so I am SOL!!! WalkerTire Co. used to be an honest upstanding place. Now known for its disreputable business practices!!!
BTY: after 2:15 minutes i finally got out of there.
Are there no Honest And reputable service business left!!!

I’m glad I found this place. As a band on the road, it’s hard to find a good, trustworthy shop that’ll get something done in your timeframe. I had an issue with my battery and alternator. They ran a test for me, we’re very nice and knowledgable and fixed my problem. I highly recommend this place. Thanks guys!

After wasting my time at other tire shops I finally called Walker Tire and Service. Service Advisor Chris hooked me up with four brand new tires and an alignment for less than the other stores were wanting. Tires look great and my truck rides better than when it was new off the lot. Thank you Chris and thank you Walker Tires. I’ll be back.

The potholes and debris on Austin roads has caused me to visit Walker Tire more often that I’d like to the past couple of months.
I’ve taken my car and my gf’s car here for tire repair and replacement. The customer service guys are cordial and matter of fact. There’s no upsell, no bs, just straight up answers.
I was appreciative that they were able to repair tires twice (for $ 20) instead of having to buy a replacement.
Highly recommend these guys if you have tire issues in the Allandale area.

I used to love Walker tire. They never tried to upsell you. Usually I’d just get a flat fixed for little money and be on my way. Then they were sold and moved, and now if you come in with one leaky tire, they try to sell you a whole set, and add lots of extras onto the bill. Don’t think I’ll be back

I called this place and they answered right away. I told them I just needed them to swap out my back tires for the new ones I just purchased, plus do an alignment. (I have a Mercedes CLS63 AMG) They let me know that they’re busy, however they can probably get me out the door within 2 hours if I came now.
After being there for 3 and a half hours, they could tell that I was getting a little impatient. The gentleman at the counter let me know that they should be wrapping up things shortly. About 30 mins later, he let me know that the new tires on. I asked them about the alignment and he told me that their guy is on vacation! I’m thinking, you could of told me that on the phone, but at this point, I just wanted to leave. I told them to please call me when their guy is back from vacation and I never heard back from them. It’s been more than a month now.
Did they do a good job of putting on my wheel? Yes. Were their servicemen professional? Very much so. He was very careful with my car and educated me on what other services I needed. Were they affordable? Yes. Some of the best pricing. Was their customer service good? Absolutely not. To me, this is the most important aspect of business. Since they lacked customer service, I will not be back.
Side Note: While I was there — there was a gentleman that was arguing with them because they had ordered the wrong axel for his truck. The customer was furious because he had drove in from Taylor and had been there since 9am (at this point it was 3:30ish pm). He too expressed to me that they estimated his service to be completed within a couple hours. Not only that, but since they ordered the wrong axel, he had no way home. He had to argue with them to provide him a ride home. Did they offer to pay for a taxi? über? Nope! One of the serviceman HAD TO ASK HIS BOSS could he offer him a ride home. Crazy!

Great as usual. I have been a Walker Tire customer for 30 plus years. Always satisfied. Their new location is bright and cheerful with a very comfortable lounge area with customer Wi-​Fi service. This time, they addressed my unexpected tire needs taking them past closing hours. Thank you!

I usually go to Leal’s, but had a flat tire at work and decided to check out Walker Tire since it was just down the block. It took 3x as long and cost about $ 30 more because they charge a dismount fee. Of course they also tried to sell another tire, which I politely declined since I’m typically loyal to Leal’s.
This is all par for the course when trying out a new place. The low rating is because they referred to me as little girl (I’m a 32 year old woman, thank you) and didn’t listen to me. I asked them to fill up all of the tires, and they left two at 20 PSI. My car also reeked of cigarette smoke afterwards.

Edit: I am updating my star rating. I was contacted by the GM of Walker Tire who apologized for my experience, assured me that what I was told was not actually the policy and offered to make it right. While I declined the offer I appreciate the sincerity and dedication shown to try and make things right with a customer.
This was my tire place. I had over a number of years went to them and purchased numerous tires (I think 4) and tire repairs. I then got another flat on one of the original tires and decided to just get the 2 remaining original tires replaced. I had just (2 months previous purchased 2 new tires from them) so this would have been 4 completely new tires in a 2 month period. I asked them (thinking it would be no big deal) if I could get the warranty you get when you replace all the tires and they said No. I looked straight at him, went over all the money I had spent with them etc and asked him did he REALLY want to not do this for me. He said No. I said Bye. I drove over to Discount Tire which I had never been to and got the two new tires put on and then the Discount Tire guy says «These other 2 tires look brand new! Do you want me to add them to the warranty?» I about fell over. So basically Walker Tire didn’t have any interest in taking care of a loyal customer but Discount Tire was willing to step up to the plate for them.

Of course I would run over a bolt at 5pm on Friday, and on my way to a meeting no less. I heard a thud, thud, thud when I was driving in the Allandale area, pulled over, and noticed a nice big bolt (not a screw or nail) stuck in my tire. Called around to a few tire places and although they all closed at 6pm, none of them agreed to help me out. I guess getting out at 6pm sharp and onto the weekend was more important that helping out their fellow man and potential long-​term client.
Then I called Walker Tire and talked to Bill. His response to my dilemma, «Yeah come on by and we’ll help you out.» Got there, got my tire repaired, and got to my meeting on time. Awesome customer service.

Cane here Friday, out of the blue when my tire popped. Was recommended by another tire place that was closed.
The interior décor was inviting, as inviting as an auto shop could be. I liked the counter, and the kiddie corner. It made the stay more pleasant, as i was stressed about hurrying with my tire fix so i can her to my next appointment. Service was great, price was fair. Hope I’m around the area when my tire pops. No jinx.

I hate having to spend money on car repairs. But these folks have decent prices (by Austin standards) do great work and are usually fast, and usually courteous and helpful. Keep up the good work guys!

Went there today with my Infiniti G37s to get two back tires and a rear view mirror put on, and an oil change. Everything was done in less than the time that was quoted and for less $$ than was initially quoted. I saw Scott, who was patient, friendly and knowledgable.
He said he wasn’t sure he would have time to put the mirror on for me bc I had to leave to get a nap in before my night shift at a local hospital. But Lo and behold, my mirror was on and functional when I got it back! They went the extra mile to get the work I needed done when I needed it and that was huge for me!
All of the staff there either chatted me up or at least said hello or acknowledged me when I walked by. Even the staff in the service station when I parked far away from the office was quick to acknowledge me and anticipate that didn’t know where I was going and to point me in the right direction. To me, this is service done right, and in the service, price AND quality departments, walker’s is firing on all cylinders!

Walker was sold sometime in 2014. They are not like they used to be. I came in on Christmas Eve due to a flat tire and was taken to the cleaners. Almost walked out of there with $ 800 less in my pocket when all I needed was fix a flat. Buyer beware.

I’ve been here twice now and both times prices were reasonable and the service was great.
First time was to fix a nail in my tire. They patched it and I was good to go – no new tire needed.
Second time, my car was in a minor accident. The impact was on the driver’s side. I knew the driver’s side rim was bent, so I bought a new one online and brought it to them. They were able to put my existing tire on the new rim.
The steering wheel was still shaking pretty badly after they did that, so I brought it right back and they did a balance on the front passenger side tire, which probably got knocked out because of the impact. The tech noted that my car was also pulling and recommended an alignment.
Balance, alignment, and new rim put on with existing tire was $ 108 – very reasonable. The car drives great now – just like new! Their waiting room was comfortable and the staff was friendly. I would definitely go back and support this local business.

I really like Walker Tire. Chris was friendly from the minute he answered the phone. I needed two Perellis on the back of my Saab. Chris gave me a couple options, and based on my front tires, he suggested the lower priced Perellis. He explained why and the differences between the tire options.
He called a couple of times to let me know their progress, and my car was ready quickly. I highly recommend.

It took an hour and 15 minutes to get an oil change. And I had been there for 45 minutes when they told me the $ 20 oil change coupon doesn’t apply to my car, and that the oil change would actually be $ 70.
Never again.

I had to have yet another tire patched and this place was close to my house.
I dropped the tire off and he told me I promise it will be done today but, I have 3 other patches in front of yours. He told me to come back at 5:30 p.m. to pick it up. I headed over at 5:20 p.m. and when I got there the tire was ready!
I went over to the office side to pay for it and there wasn’t a ticket on it and the guy was like no you are good. I was like what? No and he was like nope just keep us in mind when you need your car fixed or routine maintenance done.
I do need some things done to my car and I will be back here to get it fixed!

This place is under new ownership, and the new ownership is not very good.
My husband used this place before under the previous owners, and always had a good experience. However, our last 2 visits have been unpleasant, and I don’t think we’ll be back anymore.
The last visit we had was just before heading out on the road for the holidays. FIrst off, my husband called ahead and made sure they could get the work done that day, and then when he got there, he waited 2 hours and then they told him they wouldn’t have time to get to him that day.
I came back to drop the car off the next day. I dropped it off and told them to balance the tires and check the alignment. I left the car with them and headed off to work. They called a while later and informed us that we should replace all the tires because they had dry and that the car needed an alignment. We were skeptical. After a long an annoying conversation with the tech, in which we also discovered that one of the tires had a nail in a location that they couldn’t patch (therefore we’d have to buy a new tire), my husband got annoyed and decided we’re gonna pick up the car and take it elsewhere.
Next day, he took it to Discount Tire, which was recommended by our mechanic, and was in and out with 1 new tire in less than 45 minutes.

It’s been over 3 years since I discovered Walker Tire, and I keep coming back because I continue to get consistent quality and reliable service.
Garry is the best alignment guy in town. He’s been at it for decades now, he knows everything about cars and has a special knack for alignment. He knows how to do it the right way to ensure your vehicle is secure and safe.
He also has a memory of an elephant — — he remembers everything about my suspension and alignment — — and I drive this car daily while he sees it once in a great while. It’s quite impressive to hear him recall little details that are specific to my vehicle at which he utilizes to make sure everything is addressed and taken care of.
A very thorough and quality job, and he’ll flex his schedule to accommodate your needs. When it’s this good there’s really no need to look elsewhere. Just ask Bumblebee.
