Established in 1991.

Seeing a need for a more personalized auto repair experience, we set out to deliver the shop straight to the customer. With us, the customer interacts directly with the technician and can see the work performed and has the ability to ask questions and get straight answers.

Business Owner

The son of an airplane builder, Scot started out tinkering with farm equipment and then aircraft by his teens. After attending business school at Southwest Texas State he completed an Automotive Technology degree at Capitol City Technical at the top of his class.

Hired out of school by Tune-​up Masters he quickly rose to a Shop Manager position where he took pride in his level of customer satisfaction.

Seeing a need for more personalized car care he ventured into the mobile mechanic world. After some stints working for others and with a partner learning the industry, he saw that most mobile services were viewed as «emergency» only or only a step above «shade tree» status. Determined to break the stereotype, he started Elite Mobile Service with the intent to bring to the customer a full fledged shop to their door and deliver an experience not usually found in a typical shop.

With EMS, Scot has seen his concept realized and it is now the most sought after mobile service in Austin.

Really dig this guy and his business. He was fantastic through the entire process. He came to my house and serviced our vehicle while we were out of town and the job was great. He communicated through the entire process and for that I’ve grateful.
I wouldn’t mind the price being slightly less, and that’s the only reason I score 4 stars. However, I understand economics. I will contact him for more work in the future, should it be necessary. The convenience is like no other.

Scot is absolutely the best out there. My Yukon wouldn’t start in a parking garage and I couldn’t get any tow trucks to come and get me out. I called Scot and he put me on the waiting list and called me when he was headed my way. He was very professional and friendly. My battery was shot and he got me a new one and installed it very time-​efficiently and with great care. The whole process took about an hour and a half. Not much more you can ask for in a mechanic. The pricing was very reasonable. I am a student and would recommend Elite Mobile Services to anybody who is having car troubles. Scot is definitely my new go-​to guy.

Scott is absolutely AWESOME. I’m self-​employed with two businesses to run and always super busy. Taking time out of my day to drive and leave my car somewhere to get worked on is the last thing I ever want to do. So, I took to Unilocal to see if there were any good Mobile mechanics out there. After reading Scott’s reviews I decided to give him a shot.
Then the rainy weather came in. Scott called to let me know he was dodging the storms, and that he’d be in touch to let me know when he could come by. His follow up was awesome as I had even forgotten he was scheduled to come. He arrived to complete our brake job, fixed our washer motor, and did a tune-​up (which included an a/​c type filter that I had no idea even existed, but it was nasty and now we get some serious airflow!).
Finally, an honest auto technician who really cares. You can tell Scott wants to deliver the very best service. He works alone, so call ahead to get on his schedule. I assure you he’s worth the wait.

I was recommended to Elite Mobile Services from a friend (who, as it happens, has known Scot for many years) and I can truthfully say the best mechanic experience I’ve ever had, hands down. Diagnosed both problems with my car without overcharging me, very transparent about what he was doing, what he needed to do, and was open and honest about the entire process.
I was trying to figure out a problem I was having with my 3rd cylinder (engine light came on right as I went to get an inspection, of course) so I thought that I just needed a tune up, but Scot pulled things apart and found out that one of the connectors on my coil was damaged by whoever put the last one in. I also had a coolant leak (coming from an odd place) and he diagnosed and fixed both problems very fast (just had to wait for the part to arrive). I ended up spending much less than I was worried I was going have to, and now my car runs much better than before.

Our son’s Scion xB was having rear brake problems, and we were braced for a $ 400 — $ 700 cost for pads, calipers, etc. Scott came out and recognized that our son’s buddy who had worked on the brakes previously had not reassembled them correctly. Scott reassembled everything, and then bled the brake lines. Total cost for this plus putting on a spare tire was $ 181. Had we gone to a brake place like Midas… who knows, easily $ 700 — $ 1K+. And by the way, Scott did the repair while having to dodge/​deal with lightning in the area. We’ve used him many times, exactly because we can trust him in situations like this.

It’s hard to find an honest mechanic. Scot is reliable, honest and does a great job. Highly recommended. He replaced my brake booster, master cylinder and break lines for a great price and did an awesome job. It’s nice to come across someone in this day and age that provides excellent service. I only leave reviews is the service was incredible, and it was. Scot is very honest, fast working, and fair on price. He fixed the problem on two cars very quickly and charged less than what i was quoted from a shop to just fix one of the cars.
I usually fix my own cars, so its a tough pill for me to swallow to have someone else do it. With the speed, price, and quality of Scots work, im done fixing my own car. Plus, he come to you and practically has a shop in the back of his car.

In a two week span my car (a 2009 Acura MDX) died on me three times. A close friend of mine highly recommended Scott, so I called him up and he came to my apartment that same day to check out my vehicle.
Right from the start I could tell he knew what he was doing. He was extremely professional and there was something very empowering about being able to watch as he explained everything he was looking for.
After the initial diagnosis, he needed to order some parts, but I was getting ready to go out of town for 10 days. He ended up working on my car while it was parked at the airport! I also asked if he could take a look at my broken A/​C (which the Acura dealership said would cost close to $ 1K to fix).
I came back yesterday… my car drove smoother than it has in YEARS. Not only that but I have COLD air conditioning that works! You have no idea how grateful I am for that in this scorching Texas heat.
I don’t hand out perfect 5 stars on Unilocal very often… but Scott is well deserving of that rating. He charged me a very fair price and he did great work. Yet another reason why I feel so blessed to be living in Austin!

I just joined Unilocal so I could rate Scot’s service. Scot did a great job on an old car I could not get out on the road. He took the carburetor off the engine and took it home to work on it! The old sled runs great now and his pricing was very fair. Good guy & good service, I will call Scot again when needed.

Scott is the best! The battery in my car had died, and after a few failed attempts at jumping it, I gave Scott a call. He was very friendly and helpful on the phone and arrived at my place in less then an hour. He quickly identified the problem (blown fuse) and was able to find me a replacement part. He went and picked up the part, quickly installed it and had me on my way!

Check engine light has been on since December & coincidently our inspection sticker as well.. . My husband had replaced plugs & wires hoping that would fix it, but no such luck. We finally called EMS since I had a nice reminder/​warning from a police officer I need to get things taken care of. He came out this afternoon hooked up his computer & found a vacuum leak, had the piece in his car & did a quick swap. He also cleaned throttle body which apparently had never been cleaned in our 10year old t&c. Hubs, kids, & I are driving our mini van now & it’s running smooth! We’ll be using him again for our CV joints soon.

I pondered as to how I may write this review as I see that there are a lot of good reviews here and my review may tend to be overlooked, but I wanted to go ahead and share my story since it is what I have experienced.
I started off looking for a mechanic that had great reviews on Unilocal as I believed people with many good experiences would have them because the mechanic was knowledgeable and friendly, so hence I decided to give Elite Mobile Services a call. I booked an appointment and Scott had show up early in the morning to give me a hand. When Scott came I had informed him that my wife’s care was not starting and that the A/​C was blowing hot air. I was told at Autozone that I needed a new alternator but Scott had informed me that I needed a new battery and went and picked it up for me since I was unable to get there. He then put it in and it worked like a charm. He then attempted to find the underlying cause as to why the A/​C was blowing hot air. He checked the hoses and concluded that the problem was a small leak and that the schrader valve had a leak and replaced those valves in the car. He then evacuated the refrigerant and filled it up again. The air worked and everything seemed great and I was quite satisfied. The whole thing costed me 300+ and a tip I had left because I believe it was a job well done
Come a little less than a month the car was blowing hot air again, and I felt distressed, so I called him again and he came out and used a UV leak checker I believe it was and still could no conclude the problem. So he said he would have to replace the hoses in there which was going to cost 400+ at this point I was kind of dumbfounded wondering if he was serious after already charging me 300+, but he was. He told me he could do it that day or that I could wait until he got back from vacation. I was really upset and will not be using Elite Mobile Services again. The only reason I give you two stars is because you went and got my battery.

Scott deserves every one of his five stars. He’s worked on several of my vehicles over the years and I’ve never been sorry. We had an old Dodge truck with a crazy unexplainable disease. We had THREE mechanics work on it before I called Scott, and while we never did find the exact problem, he came out SEVERAL times to try and tackle it… he even fixed things the other mechanics had messed up playing «find the problem» with the truck. He’s not afraid to tell you, «I have NO idea» when he’s done everything in his bag of tricks. He worked with us on a very fair price for this puzzle and tried to keep everything as reasonable as possible to avoid the «throwing parts at it» problem that some mechanics seem so fond of when they can’t diagnose the problem. He’s good people folks, you won’t be disappointed.

After seeing all of the good reviews, I decided to use Scott instead of having my truck towed to be worked on. Since I wasn’t in a hurry, I was able to make an appointment 10 days out. He came and worked on it and got it running again. A squirrel had severed many wires. He charged about $ 160, which seemed well worth the price. I would hire him again if needed. He seems very honest and is enjoyable to visit with.

I called Scott based on his incredible review record and he did not disappoint. I have an old International Scout that is basically a toy, I don’t drive it often and when it sits it tends to not like being woken up. I flooded the crap out of it trying to get it started, changed plugs and still nothing. I had Scott out to get the Scout going again and he was fantastic. He fixed a mistake made by the previous owner, adjusted my carburetor, adjusted the belts and the Scout has never run better. Awesome service, reasonable pricing. I can’t recommend him enough.

After having had a TERRIBLE experience with another mobile mechanic in town (I won’t name names but you can look at my reviews if you’d like to find out!), I was hesitant to hire another one. My brakes were jacked beyond belief and didn’t really feel like messing around with waiting several hours at a shop only to check out and find that they doubled my quote with «various» other things that it «needed.»
It’s an awful reality that most mechanics take advantage of women who don’t know much about cars, and I’ve had my fair share of being jostled around. My experience with Scott was nothing short of STELLAR. I spoke with him on the phone for about 20 minutes describing the problem and concerns with my budget being a grad student. He was very friendly, accommodating and made me feel really comfortable. Scott was efficient, timely, considerate and just an all around stand-​up guy.
He replaced my brake pads and rotors in about 1.25 hours. Best part was, my total was a little less than he initially quoted me! I will definitely be using his service again and recommend him to anyone. WOO-​HOO!

I should have done a review for Scott sooner, this guy is absolutely amazing. The first time I used him was back before I had used Unilocal and I found him through another site. I was really skeptical to use a mobile mechanic service but I was in a real bind and didn’t have another choice.
He came out to my house at the time he told me he would and was super friendly and very fast. He even took the time to answer my questions and explain what had caused the issue.
After he completed the repair we sat in my driveway talking about his family and the neighborhood I lived in at the time, because he had lived one street over a while back.
Amazing guy, amazing service. You are doing yourself and your vehicle an injustice if you use anyone else.

A couple of months ago, my key got stuck in the ignition. It happened late at night, just before I was heading out of town for a long weekend. By the time I got home, my battery had been sucked dry. My car sat dead in my driveway for months. I kept putting off taking it to a mechanic, because I always end up feeling like I’m being taken advantage of, and I hate it.
I’d never heard of mobile mechanics, but a friend told me to find one. Scot was awesome. Friendly, professional, prompt. He told me exactly what was going on with the repair and got everything fixed quickly and for an honest price. Easily the best experience I’ve ever had with a mechanic.
