President and CEO David Marquardt and his staff are proud to be part of a strong company that has been locally owned and operated for more than 30 years. The Steam Team was voted one of Austin’s Best Places to Work in 2004 and 2007. Also in 2004, Marquardt was invited to join the prestigious Young Entrepreneurs Organization, an organization of business professionals under 40 years of age who are the owners, founders, co-​founders, or controlling shareholders of a company with annual sales of $ 1 million or more. Marquardt is also the President and Founder of another local company in Austin, Blue Sky Scrubs.

My chair is saved, after one of my kitties experienced an unfortunate double-​barrelled gastrointestinal event right there in his favorite spot. Eli was great – he gave me lots of advice on what to do when/​if such a thing ever happens again. But of course, it will never happen again. Right? Right? Luckily, Steam Team exists.

We called the Steam Team when our house flooded. The crew that came that night was very nice and worked hard. My disappointment is with the crews they contracted out with to get our house back in order. The guy that came to re-​stretch our carpet cut his hand in the process and left bloody fingerprints on our wall. The crew that changed out the baseboards broke a tile in the hall. When I called Steam Team about it, they denied they broke it and would not fix it. After all services were done, I received an itemized bill of everything they billed insurance for. There were about $ 500 of charges billed that were not performed. For example, they charged insurance for repainting my living room wall… they didn’t. They charged for removing towel racks, fixtures, etc while painting a bathroom… they didn’t. Insurance had already paid at this point, but I did let them know there was some fraudulent billing. I doubt they received any money back. Hopefully they have improved and have it together now!

Roman came out today to clean and seal our tile floor and clean our carpets. I’d over-​estimated the amount of cleaning we needed and he assured me that we did not need to clean as much as I had expected. When does THAT happen? He gave me great tips on how to clean stains out of carpet and what to use on our tile, stepped me through the cleaning process, and busted his ass to get the job done. He was pleasant. He was courteous. He was friendly. He was honest. The price was lower than quoted because he cared enough not to charge me for work we didn’t need.
I highly recommend Roman and the Steam Team!

After several offers of free carpet and tile cleaning after the contracting for kitchen went so wrong. I took them up on it and let them clean. They did a great job on the carpets. I could see a difference in the tile, but I had already cleaned the grout with a natural acid that restored it. At least the cleaning part of the company does a good job.

Ask for Roman, he rocked it! I have 3 dogs and two cats so getting my carpets cleaned once ever three months is a necessity. I have use just about ever other steam company in Austin and my only disappointment in the steam team was that they didn’t come into my life sooner. I am also very picky when it comes to the chemicals and smells these guys leave behind and I can honestly say I enjoyed the sent they used. Once you go Roman you’ll never go roamin’ (to another company)!

On Monday (2−16−15) Josh contacted me about my previous experience and wanted to improve our relationship. At first he offered a discount that was far too low and I do not write reviews (good or bad) to get ‘free stuff’ so we negotiated a reasonable discount. Technician was scheduled for the following Wednesday, I received a call 30 prior to his arrival and he arrived in the early part of the service window. The technician was uniformed and polite as we verified the area of the house to be serviced. About an hour later, we reviewed the work that was done and I was very pleased with the final results.
I am glad I had a chance to get to know the Steam Team and experience their service at their best. I would happily use them again or recommend their services to friends.

I LOVE THE STEAM TEAM.
I’ve been meaning to call them for a long time. Called on Tuesday, got the appointment I wanted for today. Steven & Steven came on time and did not judge my dirty carpet or couch.
They answered all of my many questions.
Then, they offered me options while thoughtfully mentioning my budget and costs.
It was less expensive than I thought to make my carpet and my couch smell so delicious and look new!
They were polite and quick.
Love them.

The Steam Team cleaned our carpets today. I received an estimate via email and scheduled an appoint easily over the phone. Excellent service by Mario and his brother, Steven. Super clean carpet now! It looks like new, even in high traffic areas.
We will contact The Steam Team again in the future for our carpet and tile needs. The company is very professional and followed up with a phone survey after the visit.

Another five star review from me. Had the guys out today to clean my carpet as its been about a year and a half since last time they came out. From the VERY fast appointment set up to the heads up they were on their way call to their fast and awesome service… these are the reasons I will always call The Steam Team for all my carpet cleaning needs. My two sevice technicians were friendly and professional and did a great job! Thanks!!!

Holy macaroni, these people are amazing. We bought the loveliest sofa from craigslist but alas, it was from craigslist… and white. So we needed some help. From phone call number one to the final, steamy clean result, these people provided impeccable service. Our dingy second hand couch was restored to like new status, in all of about 45 minutes. The two guys who were on the job were friendly and respectful of our space and time. Honestly, I don’t know what vapor magic they have in that truck, but we will certainly be calling them for regular upholstery cleanings.

Steam Team cleaned carpet in two bedrooms for us several months ago, plus an area rug, and they did a great job. They also came out when we first bought our house, to get rid of a funky smell in one room… Used some sort of Enzyme treatment & it did the trick. Now that I think of it, they may have also steam cleaned the carpet in my husband’s car while they were here, so ask about that– it looked new when they were done. I’m writing this review now because I need our rental property house done well, and this is the name I looked up again!

Avoide any company that won’t give you at least a ballpark estimate over the phone. We have an 1890’s house with wood floors and area wool rugs. They said an estimate professional would have to come out first. Once in your home they assume they have you. No!
We have a microfiber pottery barn run of the mill couch. He said $ 110 but that won’t get any smells out and it could be worse. Wanted another $ 60 plus tax for an additional «enzyme» treatment for odors. The wool rugs were $ 80 each for an 8×10 rug. The whole thing was ridiculous so I sent him on his way. Don’t trust this company unless you like spending a lot of money. Very unscrupulous tactics I’ll never waste my time with them again

I’m changing my review. I had originally booked a clean that was scheduled for day before thanksgiving in anticipation of having company over. On the day of the cleaning, wires got crossed and although I was home all day I didn’t get the clean. After my 4 hour window was almost past, I called and was told the cleaning had been cancelled and that I had missed the technician. There was nothing I could do about it, I was in a bind, and there would be no additional slots before Thanksgiving. I was not happy.
A few weeks later I received a call from Steam Team offering to send a technician to my house for free to make up for the missed appointment. At this point I had started a remodel and the carpet that I had originally wanted cleaned had already been removed. I was told that wasn’t a problem and that the technician would clean whatever I wanted him to clean to make up for the missed appointment. The technician this time showed up on time and was very courteous and thorough. I had him clean some coffee stains from my stairs as well as a few area rugs, he offered to clean the entire house but I didn’t want to be greedy with his time. Although the thanksgiving error was unfortunate, I do feel like the Steam Team did what they could to make things right and I would be happy to give the service another chance if I am in need of carpet cleaning.

I took advantage of the 3 room/​$ 99 special and had the carpet in our downstairs rooms cleaned. Our white carpet was filthy and had stains that kept resurfacing even after other cleanings. It may be too soon to say with any certainty that the stains are gone for good, but after 48 hours the carpet still looked good as new. Frank arrived promptly and did the job in the time quoted and left me with some spot cleaner formula and plenty of advice.

When you need carpet or furniture cleaned, look no further than the Steam Team. We had multiple chairs and couches cleaned and the results were spectacular! They look as good as new.
