Specialties
The Atypical Mechanic is a MOBILE automotive service that provides most repairs AT YOUR HOME or office. We can provide difficult repairs such as clutches and timing belts to simpler tasks like oil changes. We are honest, efficient and clean. For a mobile automotive service to work it is important for the customer to know that we will work to find the best solution for them and leave their home or office the way we found it. We’re proud to provide quality mobile automotive services for affordable prices.
Having your vehicle repaired can be extremely frustrating, so why use a traditional shop. It is difficult for someone that leaves work at 5:00 or 6:00 to take a car to a shop, especially in rush hour traffic. Then if the vehicle isn’t running you have to pay the extra cost of towing.
My name is Jeremy Turner and I started The Atypical Mechanic in 2007 with the goal of changing how people preceive automotive repair. It doesn’t have to be a hassle and it doesn’t have to be shroude
History
Established in 2007.
The Atypical Mechanic was created very organically. I had a few non paying internships and did automotive work on the side to help pay the bills. It was a segment of the industry that I thought could grow. The company has grown well and I couldn’t be happier. I hope I can continue to grown while holding onto the quality that my customers expect.

Business Owner
I’m originally from Midland, TX but I’ve been in Austin since 2000. I went to The University of Texas and decided to stay in Austin, I have worked in the industry since 1999 mostly at Sears Auto. I started The Atypical Mechanic in 2007 to help pay the bills while working at a few non paying internships. I hope to expand The Atypical Mechanic past Austin but I plan to always live here.
