With Stork’s one-​on-​one consultations and small class settings, parents are able to learn everything they need to know about pregnancy, birth and baby at a pace that matches their lifestyle. Stork counsels parents through every step of their exciting journey through preconception, pregnancy and beyond.

Stork Maternity Consulting is the first luxury in-​home consulting, concierge, and doula boutique in the Austin area. Our team of maternity and child experts have medical experience, as well as non-​medical experience as Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians, Baby Gear Educators, and Labor and Postpartum Doulas. These classes include childbirth education, infant sleep, child safety (SIDS prevention, CPR, car seat safety), and prenatal breastfeeding. Our Stork team takes pride in providing parents with knowledgeable and meaningful support during and after pregnancy. We offer concierge services to help mothers find the best professionals in Austin including: prenatal Yoga and Pilates instructors, baby proofers, maternity and child photographers, sleep consultants, nanny search agencies, sleep consultants, meal delivery, in-​home spa services, and more!

History

Established in 2013.

Stork owner, Leah, felt that during her career as a newborn and postpartum Registered Nurse and lactation counselor mothers needed more support, education and empowerment prenatally, during labor, and during their postpartum. She wanted to create a safe, warm, inviting space where new and expecting families could enjoy learning about the changes a baby brings but also offer all consultations and classes in-​home for convenience (and during times that best suited their needs). Her friend, and now business partner, Janae, was a doula, child passenger safety technician and a baby gear guru. She also was in grad school for business at the time. They decided to combine their knowledge base for maternity and child care and business to benefit the families in Austin, TX. They then grew their team exponentially and are proud of the amazing women working for Stork and supporting families on a daily basis.

Business Owner

Throughout Leah’s professional career as a Maternal/​Newborn Nurse, she found a strong need and often request for additional support, assistance, and evidence based education regarding breast-​feeding support and infant care from her patients and friends. She decided to spend more time with new and expecting parents by providing one on one support through professional consulting, concierge, and doula services.

Janae has always had an active part in helping friends and family prepare for their little bundles of joy. With her time spent educating parents and making a huge impact in their confidence, she realized she wanted to provide more families with her knowledge through professional consulting. Janae’s interest and experience in this field, it helped create her newfound love, Stork Maternity Consulting.

Janae is studying to receive her MBA at St. Edward’s University. She is a Child Passenger Safety Technician and a labor doula working toward her DONA certification.
