Spring, TX
Horrible experience! This hotel is under construction. They should close it and finish the project. NO breakfast. It’s at the hotel next door. That means 2 hotels are serving at 1 location. You have to wait to get in the front door. The check in desk is right inside the front door. There is no room to enter the hallway. Refrigerator in room was broken. Called front desk, maintenance never came. Asked for additional linens, got them the next day. Staff tells every guest to wait for the manager. THERE IS NO MANAGER!

I have stayed here once before. The rooms have undergone a renovation, and look great. The first floor is being renovated at this time, but I’m sure it will be very nice. It was a bit of a hassle to go to the Springhill across the parking lot for breakfast. I had especially good service from Chase, who remembered my name each time I passed the desk. Overall a very good experience.

Do not stay at this hotel! I woke up covered in bites that I did not have when I went to sleep (bed bugs!!!). Called down to the front desk and they said they would send maintenance to check the room; I checked out before maintenance arrived (if they ever did). I called the hotel to speak with management and inform them of their pest issue but the manager was «in a meeting» and did not bother to call back. I have NEVER been so disappointed in a hotel stay.

Hotel facility itself is fine, but had a very bad experience in that we reserved (and had a Marriott confirmation # for) a King-​sized bed room. When we arrived we were told they only had two full sized in a room and were otherwise sold out. Blamed it on Expedia, through whom the reservation was made, but that is between them and Expedia, as far as I’m concerned Expedia is hearing from us as well. They said they were sorry but steadfastly refused to do anything to solve the issue or make up for the error. We will not be going back and we have a son in the e=area, so we travel there often.

ok the pros:
the room was nice and clean
the staff at the front was friendly
the not so goods:
expensive rates for an economy style hotel not cool
there was terrible water pressure in the shower, we informed the front desk and the guy could not do anything without disassembling the shower head.
we found a few crickets and bugs in our room we were constantly catching
the complimentary breakfast was overall a 3.5 star but the milk was completely sour
some yogurt had expired, and the coffee was the worst coffee EVER!!! How does a company not know they have such bad coffee. It is a hotel, people wake up there, so the coffee HAS TO BE ON POINT. Management please test your coffee, that is the lasting impression I have of this place bad coffee, no water pressure, bugs, and high costs.

I would not recommend this hotel.
It is not in a good neighborhood and people WHO WERE NOT GUESTS of the hotel seemed to be wandering in and out and hanging around the lobby. I was astonished none of the staff had the balls to tell them to leave!
The rooms were small and it smelled old, and the machinery was loud.
Also, sadly, the staff was mean.
We’d just stayed in the Fairfield Inn in Fort Worth the night before and it was a completely opposite experience — clean, friendly, attractively decorated!
Weird! I would discourage you from staying at this (the one in Austin) hotel.

I was impressed with this hotel and would definitely return. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the property well maintained. The best part of the stay and would i really wanted to comment on was the management and staff. Very friendly and accommodating. I’ve stayed in many marriott during travel for business and pleasure and the manager and front desk at this hotel are the best I’ve encountered. Thank you Fairfield Austin South.

Above and Beyond my expectations! I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was amazing and the General Manager, Jeremy went above and beyond to accommodate my needs during this business trip. I look forward to staying here again in August.
Great Tip… Use the shuttle bus to take you to 6th street for a little taste of Austin Culture!

Wonderfully accommodating and helpful staff — interacted with at least 6 different people at the front desk, they were all great! Complimentary shuttle into the city saved us about $ 25 in taxi fare.
Loved the free breakfasts in the morning, actually had real food like waffles, eggs and sausage along with the standard cold cereal and bagels, etc.
Room was very spacious, and the bed was comfy! Was surprised the room didn’t have a mini-​fridge, made it hard to store leftovers, but we just made do with the provided ice bucket and free ice.
Overall, a wonderful hotel, highly recommended!

This is a solid 4 star hotel, the bonus star is for the exceptional front desk staff including Jeremy the manager. Not only did they answer every question I had, Jeremy sent me a follow up email making sure everything was up to standards. The breakfast fare is pretty standard, I ate at the bistro next door. Convenient to Austin and to the airport.

I’ve been really liking the Fairfields lately — they seem to be newer builds for the most part & more hospitable than Courtyards. This location is definitely a good one — the staff was warm & welcoming and the facility seems to be nicely kept up.
My room was clean & comfortable — got upgraded to a suite which is always nice (Marriott Gold — holla!). Wifi is free, though I couldn’t get it to work for me while I was there. It was just one night anyway so it wasn’t a huge deal. I can tell you that the air-​con works like a champ & is relatively quiet.
If you care, they have an indoor pool & workout room as well as free parking. Location wise, it’s relatively close to both the airport (4 – 5 miles) and the city (2 – 3 miles).
I travel most weeks and stay in Marriott’s most of the time — this is definitely an above average property. Would happily stay here again.

We stayed here when we went to go visit Austin with some friends a few weekends ago. At first we were a little iffy about the place because from the outside we thought it would be ghetto. We ended up being wrong and it was actually pretty nice! They have complimentary breakfast every morning, including hot items like eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal ect. They also bake cookies for their guests in the evenings. Oh and wifi was also free for guests! One thing I really liked about it was that it was pretty close to down town and also to one of the Trudys locations!

I was so happy I chose this hotel while in Austin for a couple days. This seems to be an older property, but it must have been recently renovated because it seemed new. The hallways, I believe, had new carpeting, as did my room on the 3rd floor (a suite). My room was fantastic and appeared to be brand-​new. It had very nice furnishings. There was a great work desk, 2 TVs, and a very comfortable bed (see photographs). I loved the room and comfy bed.
There is plenty of free parking and free wi-​fi. I don’t use amenities like a gym and pool, but there was a very nice indoor pool by the elevator.
The young lady who checked me in, Sari, was exceptionally nice and pleasant. Marriott should be proud to have her as an employee.
The breakfast area was very clean and stocked with scrambled eggs (as well as hard boiled), lots of breads, some kind of meat, juices, cereal — the usual. It was very good. The coffee is always good at Marriotts. Breakfast is complimentary.
This hotel is NOT located in the center of downtown. But, it’s very close. It’s conveniently located off of 35, very near to the main drag leading to downtown (it took us about 10 — 15 minutes with traffic to get to downtown). But it is not walking distance to downtown. There is LOTS in the area near the hotel as far as restaurants, fast food joints, etc. I would most definitely stay here again.

Visited this place, and it was under construction. Loud banging started at 8am. They handed over a gift bag, including ear plugs and a rubber ducky to make up for the noise.
The lights flickered, and could never be completely turned off, so they had to be unscrewed to get a good night’s sleep. There weren’t enough towels, they seemed to have shorted on the towels. The design was comfortable, and the staff was accommodating and apologetic about the noise. They offer free continental breakfast– yogurt, waffles, frozen Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, OJ, coffee, etc.
They have an indoor pool, with a chairlift if you are handicapped.
Parking was easy, and they even have designated spots for the gold, silver, platinum points rewards members! Swanky!
The location was a little out of the way if you’re heading South on 35, you have to go waay down, and take the turn around. But it’s centrally located, right off the freeway, and perfect for a night out on 6th Street!
I’d be back, but when they’re not doing construction!

Very nice facility. Rooms were clean, didn’t have any noise disturbance, and very important to us whenever we stay in a hotel– The AC worked great! (Happens a lot that the room is hot)
A little inconvenient to get to since it’s on a frontage road of I-​35. We had to pass it and then swing around because it’s a one way road, but very little complaints. Not in the heart of downtown if you’re looking to stay closer, but reachable by a quick cab ride.
Has a pool (which we didn’t use), staff was friendly and very helpful since I needed to grab a few amenities. Overall, very nice place to stay.
