I stayed here for 4 days during the Christmas holidays and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very clean, cozy, and quiet. It had a refrigerator but no microwave and it even had a small safe for us to keep our valuables, which was awesome! Our bed was fluffy and comfortable and we felt very at-​home in our room. It was a wonderful stay! Housekeeping was very thorough and courteous with cleaning and all of the staff was very friendly and welcoming as well. We got a great deal on the rate using Kayak so this room was above and beyond what you would expect for the price we paid. It is not terribly far from downtown (~10−15 minutes) either and they have a complimentary shuttle that can take you there if you want. I’m not sure why some reviews on Unilocal say the wifi isn’t free, but ours was. I would definitely recommend staying here!

How happy do you think I was to hear that the staff had been instructed to tell people we could use Marriott gyms and pools at other facilities while theirs was closed, but they neglected to tell us? Yep, not very.

This is a typical Marriott with what you would expect: average rooms (The pillows are extra comfy here) and a café downstairs to have meals (not included). What sets the establishment apart are those working here. The staff here is incredibly accommodating and helpful. They provided us with all of the extra amenities we needed (roll away bed, hangers, etc) and provided a lot of help on navigating the city for lunch, dinner, and after hour spots. All in all, they were just incredibly pleasant people who went out of their way to help. It was a great weekend stay!

Very reasonably priced hotel. Clean and pretty for not that much. They have a shuttle running downtown. No free breakfast though, we got room service and the breakfast was alright. The staff is very nice.

Amazingly helpful and friendly staff along with clean and updated rooms.
Note that it can get a little loud around 5a.m. when the trucks start rolling on the highway.
Stay away from the hard liquor at the bar. $ 14 dollars for a 1.5 oz pour of Grey Goose. That’s excessive no matter how you try to justify it.

So far my stay is going well. The gym is pretty small; 2 treadmills, an elliptical and a set of weights. The pool is indoors and there are a few chairs on a small patio outside. Not ideal for spending the day by the pool. Everything is clean and everyone is friendly. The food at the small starbucks/​café isn’t bad and you can take the wine back to your room.

We normally stay at the Spring Hill Suites next door bc it works with 2 small kids but the Marriott had a better price on a room during our recent stay. We had a more comfortable stay-​nice beds and very clean. The pool and workout room are very nice as well! I would stay here again over another hotel again!

We stayed here during a weekend visit to Austin to take our teenage daughter to tour the UT campus and explore the city.
Typical Marriott hotel. The rooms were good sized but in need of some refreshing. The location is reasonably close to downtown Austin. They have a free shuttle service, but we didn’t use it. I normally don’t like to eat in hotel restaurants but we did order room service one night. The key lime pie was delish and the blackberry mojito was refreshing.
What sets this hotel apart is the amazing staff. I would give them a 5 star rating for service. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They seemed to anticipate our needs by offering extra keys for the teenagers and a key that would allow me access to both of our rooms. They also had good dinning suggestions.

I’ve stayed here a few times when my friends and I make an Austin BBQ run. It’s at the north end of a string of Marriott properties, with just about all of their brands represented. This particular property has just about everything you’d expect from a full service brand, with nice on-​site restaurants, a bar, parking garage and even small area with snacks and sundries for sale.
The rooms are ample in size, modern and have great connectivity for the flat screen TV. Beds are very comfortable with plenty of nicely fluffy pillows, and everything is shiny and clean.
If there’s a knock on the place, ingress is a little convoluted if you’re coming from the north, but there’s not much the hotel can do about that.
All in all, it’s a solid hotel and a pretty good value for the money. As others have noted, the surface parking is not voluminous, but the garage is free and has quite a few spots.

It’s a business hotel. Nothing special clean room nice lobby. It’s very good if you’re a business traveler Monday thru Friday. There is nothing around the area. They do have a shuttle to downtown so you can get hammered and not drive.

Came here for a wedding and the wedding was nice. The room was nice. As for the hotel itself well it was fine. Nice entry but when I was obviously looking lost the people at the counter just looked and me, didn’t ask If I needed help shoot didn’t even smile.
I wouldn’t stay here for a night unless my house burnt down and even then I’d think about it.

I came here to visit my sister while she was in town for work. It has a restaurant with a full bar and an outside patio.
It was nice and clean with friendly staff.
The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because the parking lot was full and there weren’t enough spots. It was also hard to find amongst all the other feeder road hotels. Lastly, it was a bit far from my apartment, but I’d definitely have family stay here if the price is right.

Nice place, nice clean rooms that are about the right size for one or two people. Only problem was I was booked in a room that faces the highway and it was entirely too loud. I went to front desk and told the staff and was immediately offered another room without hassle.
She retrieved the hotel layout and said ‘I’ll move you to 304 which is on the other side of the hotel’. I thought it odd she seemed to be hiding the layout from my view. I asked to see it and although hesitant, she handed it over. Could have just been my perception.
Not the greatest location, the workout space is sorely lacking but nice place for a couple nights stay in Austin away from the traffic, noise and expense of downtown.
Oh, almost forgot, no free WiFi, that is almost unacceptable at this point

How embarrassing! There is a string of Marriott Hotels an a row. And I told BJ that we were booked at the Courtyard. Imagine my surprise when I tried to check us in and they said they didn’t have a reservation for us! So, red faced, I checked my iPhone to discover we were booked a couple hotels away at the Marriott South.
Check in was okay, but for a «full service» hotel, the front desk acted a little not full service. But we did discover that they had a shuttle running to a down town sister hotel, so we didn’t have to worry about parking or driving. A very nice perk. Unfortunately, the airheads put us down for an 8 pm shuttle, and then later discovered that it was over booked. How complicated is it to count 2 + 2 + 2 + 3 might equal 9? Maybe another couple offered to pad their palm with a $ 20. Either way, pretend to pay attention! The ride downtown was super fun. We were packed up with some crazy college grads from Erie looking to party and some over age Australians horned toads trying to make the college girls giggle.
For the price, I think it was really worthwhile to stay here. Much cheaper than downtown locations and the shuttle made the commute no problem. And free parking. Plus, very quiet here at night compared to the partying going on downtown. Our room standard Marriott design, classic and clean. We really enjoyed our short stay here.

Nice property with a good friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were good sized, clean and well maintained. The bar downstairs was good, with good service.
The breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel is located about 10 or so miles south of the center of town, so we drove or taxied. About $ 24 to the airport by cab. Location is the only negative.

Love:
*The room was spacious but not too big where you felt like pieces of furniture were missing.
* The bed was comfortable (even when sleeping with a bad sunburn from tubing) and there were more than enough fluffy but firm pillows.
* Free parking.
***** Complimentary shuttles every 30 minutes to the Downtown Marriott during SXSW.
***** The guest services were amazing. The staff was beyond helpful and really wanted to ensure we had all of our needs met.
Hate:
*The shower head can be better. It felt a little standard and did not match the rest of the hotel.
*They’ve got free Internet, but no Wi-​Fi, so do not forget your Ethernet chord.
* No valet.
* No outdoor pool. I bet they would get more people in this place if they had an outdoor pool or, better yet, a rooftop pool.
* A little far from downtown, so you will definitely need to use the complimentary shuttle and, after certain hours, a cab.

Some of the reviews say they don’t have wifi in the rooms but that must have changed because if this review posts, the wifi works. I’ve stayed here several times. It was redone at some point and is quite nice. The service is friendly. My company had an issue which required some cooperation on their part and they could not have been more accommodating. It’s a straight shot to downtown Austin and SoCo, which is my favorite place. Clean, comfortable, convenient and cordial. That’s all I ever ask and they deliver.

We stayed here 4th of July weekend and got a suite because it was pretty much the same cost as a regular room.
Everything seemed fine until I woke up my first morning there covered in bites. My husband thought that maybe they were mosquito bites from our walk at the Zilker Botanical Gardens and I just hadn’t noticed the night before.
So with that I decided to do something I should have done at the beginning and inspect the bedding. I’ve had bed bugs before and didn’t want to go through all of that again!
I saw nothing behind the bed board, but when I inspected the mattress I was very disappointed. I didn’t see any bugs, but the mattress itself is not encased at all! Even «lower end» hotels think to put their mattress in bug-​proof cases, but not the Marriott? Then I moved the mattress away from the wall to look at the box spring and was a bit grossed out. There was a ton of hair and lint from previous customers on the bed skirt linen. I expect more from the name behind this hotel.
I finally decided to write this review after waking up this morning itching. I go to the bathroom and there are bites all over my feet and around my ankles. I would think it was from my hiking yesterday if I hadn’t been wearing socks that went 3 inches above my ankle.
I will say I saw no actual bed bugs here or even any bed bug carcasses, but what I did see shows me that their housekeeping standards leave it highly likely that they will have them if they don’t already. I won’t be returning.

A boutique hotel, this ain’t. But during the crazy fest that’s SXSW, it was the best (but def not the cheapest) I could get.
I booked online and received a phone call shortly after confirming my reservation. The gentleman mentioned they happened to have another room $ 100 cheaper — but since I was sharing my room with Atlanta CM Kathleen M, we prefered to keep our suite: complete with a living room area with sofa bed, desk area, king size bed…
What I loved:
*The mini-​fridge that actually kept cold. I traveled with a healthy fruit salad to keep me from snacking on chips, Gatorade and water to keep me hydrated; and they all stayed ice cold. Mmmm. Ice cold grapes, berries, apples, strawberries and melon are the best morning breakfast during a hangover.
*And the shower was great too. Bathing in Austin is the best because of the wonders soft water does to your hair and skin, but the shower head made me sad to go home to the one I have at home.
*Business center for all my printing needs.
*Free parking, but no valet.
*Complimentary shuttles every 30 minutes to the Downtown Marriott during SXSW.
What needs upgrading:
*They’ve got free Internet, but no Wi-​Fi. You gotta use an archaic Ethernet chord.
*Décor. It doesn’t compare to other Marriott Hotels — maybe the Courtyard or cheaper versions — but not a regular Marriott.
*Room service menu was incredibly inexpensive, but our breakfast arrived cold.

Once a year I live in this hotel for 2 days during a trade show… I wish the location was closer to downtown Austin but this year they started a shuttle downtown from 6pm to 11pm… which is a nice touch. I would rather pay for one taxi ride instead of two.
The staff is really good and friendly here. I recently lost my Marriott Status and was not given the Concierge Floor… which is great here… I have gotten spoiled… this year I was slumming it on a regular floor. When I checked in at Noon, the guy behind the desk told me that no rooms were available especially King Size Beds… I threw my Marriott Number down and then all of a sudden he found me a King Size Room. It is amazing how that works… any kind of membership has its advantages. The room is nice… big comfy bed… big TV and a nice work area… which consists of two big desks. I had a lot of room to work on my presentation.
The banquet staff also works really hard too… the managers were there late and up early. This place also has a peanut butter fountain. It is the most amazing thing ever. Two years ago I gathered a crowd of ten around it as we dipped pound cake, marshmellows and strawberries into it. When I walked in this year I was happy to see my old friend the peanut butter fountain… then my old friend disappeared while I was drinking a beer… I talked to one of the managers and she said that it was backing up… so they had to remove it. She offered to get me a bowl of peanut butter to take back to my room… I almost took her up on it but I didn’t want to look like a freak going back to my room.
Great staff, nice room and excellent banquet facilities!
The workout room is also very nice too. thanks for keeping me healthy!
