I like this gym because for 50 $ classes, good spa, friendly personal, and Monday to Friday gym work till midnight

Gym is pretty diverse in what equipment they offer and definitely has the classes needed to get in shape, but Its pretty much a meat head market, non stop club music and a very low level of service from their staff; cleanliness is so so at best as well. The people working there generally seem angry, clueless or uninformed, not the cream of the crop to say the least.
There’s better options out there for sure!

The gym is super big, the equipment is new and clean, as the gym is by itself also clean and its never crowded witch is awesome. Staff is really friendly. Prices are ok for the service, u have free towel, sauna and steam room. I recommend it.

They make it IMPOSSIBLE for you to CANCEL your membership when you have a RIGHT, it is ridiculous how incompetent the staff and managers are. It’s like talking to a wall, no communication. Everything you tell them goes out the other ear. They make up rules and numbers. And that 30 days notice is a scam. Please realize you will be paying more to cancel your membership. Other gyms do not have absurd rules. Do not even come here to join. I will tell everyone about this gym and never to step foot in it! And if they pull some bs out of their a** saying they won’t cancel, FIGHT THEM ON IT! And if you don’t believe this, read other reviews here. NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO. They will keep charging you even if they let you cancel.

First and foremost, I would elect Peter the weekday manager for public office. He is truly the Michael Jordan of customer service meaning fast, efficient service, that is capable of going 72 – 10 in a single season and winning 6 championships. Peter signed me up to the gym about a year ago and has never forgotten my name since that day. I bring my children to the gym daycare and Peter is always so welcoming to them. The locker rooms are impeccable, cleaning staff is always on shift cleaning the gym and the locker rooms. The front desk staff is always so welcoming and helpful. It make me want to come to the gym twice a day but I cant handle that hehe. Highly recommend this place A++++

After 3 years I finally quit this gym. Since that guy Lazlo and his student/​trainer Ariel arrived, they have monopolized the boxing studio and bully anyone who doesn’t want to pay extra for their personal classes. Today they kicked me out of the studio to train ONE 80 year old guy who could hardly move. I offered to share the room since there was plenty of space, but the trainer would have none of it. This is not the first time this has happened to me, and other people. I also happened to be with a 1^st time guest friend of mine, guess what, she didn’t join the gym.
Of course I still have to pay 2 extra months before I can leave, so I will try to go to the classes with Steve until the 2 months are up. Steve is very good trainer and a genuinely good guy. I will miss the clases with Steve, but I need to have access to boxing equipment outside the group classes, which is the main reason I signed in.
The boxing studio itself is simple. Ok spacious, clean, has a bunch of heavy bags, and 1 speed bag stand (bring your own bag). Thats it.
The rest of the gym is Ok I guess, haven’t met the other trainers so I have no opinion on them.

I go for eFc crossfit. Steve, Jess, and the rest of the coaches are great and I love that I have access to the crossfit room whenever the gym is open. I’ve never felt like the gym is over crowded, but I also generally go in the mornings. The non-​crossfit staff has always been nice, but I also don’t interact with them much outside of signing in.
The rest of the gym has plenty of free weight equipment and it’s generally clean and well maintained. Never had a problem finding a squat rack or bench. They also have 3 platforms with bumpers, but you can’t drop the weights in the main room as far as I know.
Ran into one broken treadmill in the year and a half I’ve been there, but they fixed it quickly. The floor in the crossfit room got broken and that got fixed eventually.
I haven’t had to cancel, but from the people I know that have you just need to give a month notice and you’re fine.
It’s a 10 minute walk from my place, it’s a big space, and I’m really happy with it. Just wish they would put their weekend hours on the their website somewhere or submit them to google.

I like this gym. I originally didn’t like that they didn’t offer early morning classes but that changed with twice a week morning spin class which is great. The gym is clean, staff is friendly and I love the rock climbing wall. Complaints regarding the contracts — you should have read it thoroughly — the gym is a business and their contract is just that, a contract.

I’ve been trying to reach them via email with questions about their facility and they don’t return emails.

I love this gym bc it’s the best on ditmars side; it’s clean, open 24 hours, has a children’s center (daycare while you workout), steam, sauna, lockers (you can even rent lockers for long term use) and much more. There’s people of all ages here and everyone respects the gym rules so I like that. People are helpful and so is the gym staff. I always see the staff walking around cleaning or putting weights away. Their front desk could be more efficient during busy hours. They have classes, a $ 40 one week cross fit workout session but I haven’t tried either.

Waste of money. It’s just like any other gym nothing special for the price of it… Canceling is a nightmare and they don’t refund the money that they say they would.

From the moment I walked in, I was instantly impressed with this gym!
Signing up was very easy and Dora was super helpful. She was quick, efficient, and very informative. We joined at a time when they were offering a special, but even without it, a monthly membership here is affordable.
The gym is very clean, bright, open, and organized.
If you’re looking for a gym in Astoria off of the Ditmars stop, this is it! It’s close to the train, huge, and open 24 hours.

I walked in and got a price they quoted me for 49 a month with a 50 dollar sign up. I told the salesmen I would have to come back, he said take as long as you want. I came back 5 days later they would not honor the sales men’s word and the price had gone up 50%. That’s not even the worst part it, the manager was completely condescending. I went in 3 different times and each time they changed the price and talked down to me like a child. I have never never been more frustrated dealing with a business.
Also want to add that I was a returning member, when I had to cancel 3 years ago it was nearly impossible. I’m sure other reviewers will say the same so I won’t get into it. Truly the time warner cable of gyms.

If you look at my review history, i don’t usually care enough to write reviews or rate places… but if you sift through the one two or three star comments you will find that my situation is not that uncommon with this gym.
STAY AWAY!
the legality and legitimacy of the contract is highly suspect. As quite a few others before me i also have a debt collector calling me for hundreds of dollars that accumulated over a time that i am positive i was not a member. Other gyms are way more easy going about quitting. save your self the nightmare.

The best thing about this gym is the class instructors — Eric and Dorothy! I feel like I am a celeb in a personal training session in each class… sometimes I feel like I am on the biggest loser and about to puke but that is a great feeling because it means it’s working!

credit due to for the new paint but other than that not impressed. The amount of closings from a few snowflakes or a holiday is a little redic. I almost wanted to get my monthly bill prorated over the winter. I really hope they get keychain member passes instead of the circa 1996 laminated library card type ones they have now. Also, the sound on the elliptical machine tv’s DON’T WORK! this is so frustrating watching tv without being able to hear it.
Overall the only thing that keeps me here is Eric and Dorothy and there is no other option close to my house. Dora is pretty cool too. Need to update the technology to 21^st century.

I love this gym! It’s spacious and very clean, with really nice facilities. They have a beautiful yoga studio that’s totally private so you won’t hear the music from the gym.
Also, super convenient location and the staff is very pleasant.

If you want to be treated as a commodity, ignored and treated rudely, this is the perfect gym. If, however, you want to greeted warmly, have questions answered, and not be dismissed and ignored, the I advise looking elsewhere. That’s what I’m doing.
I stopped in twice to learn about the gym. The first time I only asked about price and a class schedule. She was friendly enough but took no initiative to engage me. If anything I felt she could care less if I joined or not.
This was confirmed on my second visit. This time I specifically said I was considering changing gyms and wanted to learn more about the facilities. I told them I had the pricing and class schedule. After being handed off to two other reps they handed me more paper. I was asked what I wanted to know. I said I wanted to know more about the facilities. He gestured around and said «Here’s the facility. He then reached to get a copy of the class schedule while returning to his conversation with his colleagues. I was dismissed.
I asked to speak to manager but this same group all said they were managers. I expressed my concern with the lack of attentiveness, no interest in answering my questions, and general lack of customer service.» The response was, «I don’t know what more you want to know. Good day, sir.»
Maybe I expect too much but I would have expected an offer of a tour, a highlight of their facilities, crowing about the quality of their machines, classes and trainers. I would have expected efforts to up sell me to a training package. None of this — instead I was treated dismissively and rudely.
If this is how they treat a potential new member I can only imagine how they treat their members.
In the end, while I was upset at how I was greeted and treated, I’m glad they did. I didn’t compound my mistake of visiting their gym by actually joining.
This ranks as one of my worst customer service experiences and the worst I’ve ever been treated by a gym.

Good gym

Here is my updated review as promised.
The pros of this gym HIGHLY outweigh the cons. It is literally 4 steps from the train, so even if you are a bit further into astoria its easy to get too. Its 24 hrs, so no excuses.
The people who work there are nice… Especially my morning girl Dora. I am moving to woodside, so i had to cancel my membership. They literally couldn’t be nicer about it.
My only qualm is the lack of classes, and the spin bikes need to be replaced. All in all its a great gym!

I really like my gym.
For the most part it’s; almost always clean, friendly staff, and helpful trainers even if you’re not a training client.
I’ve been to almost every gym in queens that has late hours, and this is not only the cleanest (aside from 24hr fitness in the city) but def has the nicest staff.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because I found out a lot of people pay less than I do.
I don’t think it’s fair to have different membership rates for people (unless they’re on a corporate discount).
Other than that– great place great music, clean & great staff.

I pay 55.00 a month for 24 hr fitness (more at the rock) in the city, they have national locations, and a pool.
