After serving in the US Air Force Bill and his wife Becky joined the family business in 1987. Bill’s the one that has a phone growing out of his ear! Always here to help (with the exception of an occassional vacation) Bill will try to help you over the phone if at all possible. Sometimes the situation is just a simple fix like a dirty filter, tripped breaker or a thermostat that needs to be reprogrammed. Bill believes that if he can help you over the phone saving you the expense of a service/​diagnostic call, that hopefully our clients will remember that and become our client for life.

Our youngest son Tony decided that he too, wanted to join the family business. Tony came up the hard way, threading black pipe in the warehouse after school, then becoming an apprentice and after a couple of years of tech. school he is now one of our lead installers and next in line when mom and dad decide to retire.

We are proud of our Lakeside Family and of our 41+ years serving our community.

Lakeside installed my a/​c a few years ago and was the most prompt and professional company I received an estimate from. They have since come out to repair my furnace, again prompt and professional. I can not recommend Lakeside Heat and Air Conditioning enough.
The $ 95 charge others are referring to seems a standard same day charge that any company would similarly charge for an «emergency» visit. The two times I have needed them quickly, they have come through within the hour. This is what you are paying for.

I had Lakeside come out to give me a second opinion on my furnace. I was told that it needed to be replaced. Tony came out and found that there was only a minor issue with the furnace and it was relatively easy to fix. They performed the work and my furnace has been working flawlessly ever since. They saved me from needlessly replacing the whole unit. Thank you guys– you are now my go-​to company!

Be prepared to pay above market for their services. They charge $ 95.95 just to show up. That amount will not be credited against work they perform. They tried to charge $ 249 above their $ 95.95 trip charge just to re-​wire my thermostat. It should take one hour to do that work. A very good certified electrician should not charge you more than $ 100/​hour. They’re a rip off and they know it so they get their payment before leaving the house. My wife asked if she could mail in a check and was told payment must be made on the spot. We’re out $ 95.95 and have to find a more reasonable electrician to do the work.

I had an AC Unit that was intermittently blowing warm and cool air. With company coming to town the approaching Monday, I was growing nervous that we would be sweltering and angry right off the bat. Thankfully, I spoke with Bill and he gave me some helpful advice over the phone. After a full defrost cycle and a thorough cleaning, our house is much more comfy. Thanks, Bill!

Stay away. Lakeside charged us $ 430 to fix our air conditioning after it stopped working. But it only worked for a week. When we called them about it, they were going to charge us $ 130 just to come back out and take a look at it. We called a different company (Comfort Pros) which came out on July 4, fixed it, and charged us almost nothing. Save your money and go elsewhere.

We needed to get our furnace tuned up and certified before selling our home. From the first call to book my appointment, to the nice receptionist that confirmed my appointment the day before, to the technician, everyone was very friendly and professional. The technician called 30 minutes prior to the appointment and arrived a few minutes early. He took the time to understand what we needed done and explained thoroughly what he found and fixed. Overall, a very pleasant experience ~ thank you!

We had our AC system installed in 2011. At the end of 2013 summer our air conditioner worked poorly and had to run a long time to get the house cool. At the start of the 2014 summer our AC no longer cooled the air.
We originally called Lakeside to come out and fix our AC, but didn’t have availability until late the next week, so we called Applewood who could get out sooner.
Applewood found that the system had been installed poorly using a freeze stat, which should only be used when everything else fails. This caused premature freezing of the pipe and likely caused leaks inside of the house. The Goodman unit that was installed had valve leaks and the outside solder joints had minor leaks.
The major area of concern is how little coolant was in the system, from the point of view of the repairman he believed the system had too low of coolant when it was first installed. The major cost of the repair was in replacing the coolant as the leaks were easy to fix ($ 1000). The install likely didn’t put the recommend coolant in (to cut cost), which in the end we are told causes your AC to run more, run up your electric bill and burnout your AC unit sooner.
When I reached out to Lakeside to see if they would help offset the cost of the coolant and repairs, they explained that the system passed its inspection when installed and it wasn’t their fault.
We are very disappointed with Lakeside and their lack of responsibility for a poor install. We were impressed with their bid and when we thought they install the AC properly. I likely wrote them a rave review 3 years ago, but that was before we had a 3rd party tell us how poorly the system was installed. This was a very costly mistake, I’d hate for anyone else to get fooled like we were. There is absolutely no reason a properly installed AC unit should have multiple leaks less than 3 years after install.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH LAKESIDE HEATING.

I purchased a new AC unit for my home and Lakeside was excellent from start to finish. Literally every person with Lakeside I encountered was prompt, courteous and professional in their responses.
Some highlights–
1. They made sure I was comfortable with the quote /​contract before signing
2. They respond quickly to email and voicemail
3. They were very competitively priced (within $ 10 of the quotes from two other companies for the same unit)
4. They were very confident in there unit/​sizing recommendations and were able to defend why they recommended what they did
5. They worked with my schedule, arrived on time, and worked efficiently
6. They walked me through all the maintenance and functionality of my unit at completion

Update: Got through to Lakeside today, they sent a technician out within an hour and made the quick and easy fix to get my furnace running again. I was charged the base fee which was very reasonable for the fast and friendly service.
Tip: Call during business hours. All of my messages that were left after-​hours were ignored.

Very friendly, family-​owned business. We were impressed right away with their services and professional manner.
We just recently had an air conditioner installed and what we were hoping for was good value and service. We had another company come and give us an estimate a few months ago and Lakeside gave an estimate almost $ 2000 less. The previous estimate included a whole bunch of additional duct work they claimed we would need. Lakeside didn’t try to rope us into additional work that was unnecessary and costly.
Lesson here: Go with supporting a local business and both service and price will make you happy.

My wife and I had several people come by and give us estimates. Lakeside’s estimate was at or below the others, and they offered Lennox vs. the others offering Rheem and Goodman. That is enough right there for me.
But more importantly, when they came to see our system and make an estimate, the gentlemen did right then, he gave me helpful advice on our current system that saved money (which the others did not), was saddened at the unnecessary things the other companies advised, and did not try to sell me anything I didn’t need. He told me, «I wouldn’t install anything else here, period.» I appreciated his clarity and willingness to provide help regardless of whether or not I purchased from Lakeside. One more thing: he also factored in rebates on the spot for environmental recycling and efficiency, which the others did not.
I could not recommend anyone higher.

Update to first review (below); sadly had to take off a star. i had a part break and called them and (it turns out new) receptionist was kinda bitchy. Also, she said i would get a call back and i didn’t for a week, so i called them. The owner said he very sorry and apologized profusely. He said he would call back once he got the part. …guess what? never called back, so i called again. He had the part and dropped it off and promised to fix it in the spring (its a swamp cooler so i am not using it. I am sure he will, but it was too much hassle. I have figured out that they are very good at getting your business, but not so great at keeping it.

We had a new furnace installed a few weeks ago and we were very pleased with Lakeside’s quality of customer service. I requested an appointment online and within the hour a rep was calling me to confirm my appointment and get any other details about what we were looking for. Within a few days we had the owner at our house to check out our crawl space set up and go through furnace options with us. We appreciated that he was up front with us about the different types of furnaces and which ones would be practical for our needs and layout of our home as well as providing a decent ROI. We agreed on a complete install price at that time and all charges were detailed out. We had our new furnace install scheduled for the following week. Their office called to confirm the appointment the day before and their service guys called about a half hour prior to the appointment to indicate they were on their way. Throughout the day long install the service guys were conscientious about tracking dirt through our home and being considerate of our belongings & cleaned up after themselves.
The inspection with the city passed on condition that we have the service guys come back up and attach a gas line that was left hanging. There was no need to have another inspection though. When I contacted Lakeside they had someone out within a few days to quickly do the fix.
If your furnace is in a crawl space, make sure they measure your opening prior to the install. Unfortunately our crawl space opening is smaller than the standard size of furnaces these days and so the service guys had to cut the opening a little larger which resulted in us having to get a new door for it. It would’ve been ideal to have known this prior to the install taking place so that we could’ve been a bit more prepared.
Lakeside pricing was better than quotes I’d received from another area HVAC company — nearly $ 1000 less for a similar model. A competitive price with a family-​run, local business is always great!

After a short delay due to a measurement error, everything else went very smooth. Their prices were very reasonable. They even beat Costco on price and warranty. Their workers did a clean job and explained all of the new equipment. I had an AC and two Humidifiers installed. A stand for the AC had to be mounted on the roof. The initial measurements were in error. This was noticed quickly by the installers. Bill corrected the error and rescheduled the install a week later. I was very satisfied with the end result from initial estimate to final product.

I love this company. I can’t say enough good things about them and their friendly customer service. We had them install an Evaporation Cooler in our home recently and they were so professional while working in our home. Bill that came out to give us an estimate was great. He was honest with us and I felt he knew a lot about the business and what he was selling us, he explained everything to us in a way we could understand.
We felt very good in choosing them over another company that came out. They were much cheaper on the same exact unit… they beat the other company by $ 1,000 (no joke!!)
The unit was installed in one day and they cleaned up after themselves… it was like they were not even here.
I highly recommend them to anyone needing service or new installation. We will be using them for any future needs.

I’ve had a broken air conditioner for a few weeks, and after my landlord’s failed attempts at coordinating a repair, he gave up and dumped the responsibilty on me to get it fixed. I called Lakeside, and they were able to send somebody out the same day. John arrived when they said he would, and he went above and beyond to make sure they were able to help me. My building evidently was inspected by 3rd graders, b/​c none of the air-​conditioning units on the roof are labeled. So there is no logical or easy way of identifying which compressor/​ac thingamagig on the roof corresponds to specific units in the building. This didn’t stop John, he took the next hour or so of going on the roof and having me flip breakers, etc… so he could hear which unit might be activating. This exhaustive effort finally paid off b/​c he was able to identify mine (and label it), and as a result, fix my a/​c.
So hurray, a/​c is fixed, right? Well, not so fast… due to yet another inspection flaw in my building the area in my ceiling where the fan unit lives hangs too low and close to the enclosure’s opening… multiple tries to cover it, resulted in pinched wires, and blowing a fuse, and a myriad of other issues. Now it’s getting late on a Friday afternoon, and I’ve gotta jet, so he says that they’ll come back on Monday to fix it up. They called twice over the weekend to check in and see if I could accommodate a repair on the weekend (I couldn’t). I called first thing Monday morning, they set an appt that worked with my schedule, came over fixed the problem in under an hour, and didn’t charge anything extra.
Kudos to John and the Lakeside team for providing great customer service.
