Just finished our first move using crates of any kind, and I’m totally sold! Will definitely use Value Crates again!
I completed a simple check out process online to schedule the crate delivery, and Adam (the owner) confirmed via e-​mail and said he’d schedule the drop-​off time with me closer to the date of our move, which was still a few weeks out. (They do this so that they can group deliveries according to location, which helps them keep costs down and be environmentally friendly.)
Adam delivered the crates himself, including hauling them up the stairs at our old place. A convertible moving dolly was also included in the package. We got the 2-​bedroom package (35 crates and a dolly) because we have way too much stuff, and these held all our stuff comfortably. They were easy to pack (no need for tape or packing boxes «tight») and secure the lids with zip ties.
On moving day, the crates (all being the same size) made it very easy for the professional movers to load the truck. When all was said and done, nothing was broken!
We just e-​mailed Adam to let him know when we were finished, and he picked them up from the new place at a mutually agreed-​upon time. We kept the crates for just over 2 weeks, but they allow 3 full weeks at no extra cost. This was plenty of time for us to pack, move, and unpack without too much rush.
I honestly can’t recommend this service enough and will definitely use Value Crates again because their prices were much lower than comparable companies and the customer service was awesome!

Great company that makes moving SUPER easy! Adam was very easy to get in touch with, and allowed me to keep the crates for up to three weeks. It was plenty of time to pack up my old apartment, and unpack my new one. Plus, no need to worry about putting together a single box! I definitely recommend this company.

I recently moved to my new place with my fiancée. I wasn’t the one who arranged this but I was really positively surprised when I saw all the crates in our living room ready to be filled up with stuff. It was really easy to stack them up and move up to five or six at the time using a dolly without breaking anything inside. Cardboard boxes never again!!! The most important part was how fast we were able to move it all out and in to the new place. I wish we would order more crates than we did that time because I still had to pack some stuff in bags. We moved one bedroom apartment in about 5 hours between me and two of my buds. Remember to get more crates than you think you’ll initially need.

ValueCrates is the best! From my first email until the pickup of the crates Adam was very responsive and helpful. I requested the crates last minute but he didn’t have as many as I requested on site. He still got them all together and to me on time! He was flexible with me for the pick up and drop offs too. From what I experienced, once you tell ValueCrates what you need they give it to you. I highly recommend using ValueCrates for your move, it made the packing and unpacking stress of a move go away!

The crates made the move so much easier, and Adam worked with us to get crates on short notice. Reserve these as soon as you know you’re moving since they’re really popular!

What a great service! Using crates instead of boxes was more economical, environmentally friendly, cleaner and easier. I’ll never pack with boxes again. Plus, Adam is super friendly and all around nice to work with.
I moved from a 1 BR + den apartment to a 3 level rowhome. I went with the 2 BR package, but could have used more. That said, our china took up a lot of space.

ValueCrates could not have been more helpful and wonderful during our move. The crates are extremely functional and durable and we could not have done the move without the dolly. Great customer service from Adam and VERY affordable. ValueCrates saved me a lot of time and money and I would absolutely use them again.

These guys are awesome.
I’ve moved a few times — and this was by far the smoothest. You don’t spend time putting together boxes, you dont worry about that sketchy tape job, and the boxes are so sturdy you can really load them up.
I used the 1 bedroom package and it was perfect — used every box! They were great about how long we can keep the boxes for too, up to a month which made this very seamless.

This is definitely the way to go if you are moving locally. These crates were perfect for our move and Adam was awesome to work with. The crates are stackable and light, and fit most of our items without any issues. The game changer with this service is the delivery of the crates. Adam was super flexible to deliver/​pick-​up the crates during a convenient time. The cost is extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend ValueCrates!

A few moves back, I had wanted to use re-​usable containers like I had seen others do but it seemed like the service had not become available outside the West Coast/​NYC until recently. When I price compared ValueCrates with a few similar businesses, they definitely won out by a long shot both in cost per option (we went with 2 the bedroom package and it was more than enough for our belongings) and duration of time you could keep the boxes.
Similar to the other reviewers, the boxes themselves (sturdiness, all the same size and «stackability»); included dolly; home delivery/​pickup and cost made what was one of the more stressful moves I’ve had much easier. Adam was great to work with, reachable via email, and came out to Baltimore to deliver and pick up the boxes which made everything infinitely easier for us. My husband was skeptical at first since he prefers to hoard free boxes but even before we were done packing the truck, he was singing the praises of ValueCrates for all the above reasons. Looked into this service for our FOURTH move within DC (which I hear is pretty common) after spending way too much on cardboard boxes the last time around. We went with the 1-​bedroom package and will definitely never go back to regular boxes again. These crates are sturdy and stackable, so you don’t have to worry about things breaking in the bottom boxes. Actually, this was the first move where absolutely nothing broke.
My boyfriend was happiest about the complimentary dolly, which meant less lifting for him. It also meant one less thing to worry about during our move… which was already pretty stressful in itself.
Not only that, but Adam brought us a housewarming gift when the crates were picked up, which made us super happy to support a local biz.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone moving as an affordable, eco-​friendly way to pack your belongings!
