EXTREEEEMELY RUDE AND NASTY PEOPLE!
They posted an ad on Craiglist offering services at $ 45.00/hour under the caption «Gift for You!» When you contact them, that $ 45 is a lure… it’s actually only that without a Truck. The actual is $ 55/​hour plus a hidden $ 50 fee. when you ask them about the discrepancy, they snap at you. When you try to have an engaging conversation to ask if they understand the nature of your move, they snap. When I questioned them, they laughed suggesting «we don’t want to do your move anyways…» These are janky, fraudulent and rude people. I warned them, customer service is key… so Unilocal,here you go. Stay AWAY FROM EC MOVERS. They’re a rude and nasty joke. I will be reporting them to Craigslist as well. I have also filed a police report because they threatened to use my personal information to «post about me» to slander me because I reported the truth about them… lol…they’ve also been reported to the BBB and I have signed up to do an interview about them as well via the BBB’s inquiry.

They were not good. 45 minutes late. Movers were very surly, they seemed to basically hate each other. They said they were finished but left stuff in my apartment. When I asked if they could get the remaining items, one of the guys first said «Do you want us to leave?» and then corrected himself to «I mean go to your next location?» and THEN asked if they could wait til the rain died down, as it was raining heavily. Meanwhile, I was standing outside getting soaked myself. I didn’t want to pay for them to sit there so we just went to my new place. When they finished, they asked for $ 200 even though they worked for less than 2 hours, including the time they were sitting in the truck while the rain was pouring down and I was putting the remaining items in my car. TERRIBLE.

I have some issues to address with my recent move from Baltimore, MD to Wheaton, MD.
1. I requested a time of 9:00am on April 1^st, however, I received a call around 8:30am stating they would arrive around 9:15am. No one was present at 9:15am. The movers did not arrive until 9:40am. One of the movers had to use the restroom upon arrival, cool, but really? Everything went smoothly once they arrived and got started. Approximately an hr to load the truck up. NOW getting to my new place in Wheaton, I arrived before them (20 minutes before).
2. Upon completion of the move at about 12:50pm, I ask what my total was and I was told $ 250. I had $ 230 on me at the time because I had calculated about 3 hours moving and travel, so $ 185 should have been the total. I then asked the movers to follow me to the ATM nearby to get the rest, but as I was driving, I began to calculate the move, I couldn’t come up with $ 250. I ask the gentleman driving how he came up with $ 250, he stated that they charged $ 50/​hr. That is not what was quoted to me from Craigslist and my confirmation email. I then asked how did he come up with $ 250. He says because they went over 3 hours and they don’t charge for partial hours. NEVER mentioned to me in any form or fashion. To me this was unprofessional and deceitful because the «no partial hours» was never mentioned and neither was $ 50/​hr. So I mentioned that I would pull up my quote because the driver didn’t trust that I was told $ 45/​hr. He said he called the boss and he said I was fine with the $ 45/​hr and then they drove off.
3. For me to be charged for the entire hour for only having been there for 10 minutes over 3 hours is wrong. I’m not sure what they moved in those 10 minutes. All I know is I was told we’re done around 12:50pm, then the SAME mover had to use the restroom again. I would’ve kindly tipped these young men and perhaps brought them a meal, but to blatantly overcharge me for 10 minutes. I could have had something set up for another 40 minutes.
4. I am adamant about referring people to small business rather than large franchises, but if the customer service is off, I cannot refer anyone to this shady business. Craigslist usually comes through with decent businesses, but this takes the cake for being TERRIBLE!!!

Scheduled for a move 1÷31÷15 confirmed the day before. No show and no call, I was forced yo leave a msg… no live person finally someone called rang phone once and hung up never left me a voicemail or apology. Never use them!

The worst movers ever! They showed up 5 hours late and didn’t feel the need to apologize. The lady on the phone is soooooooo rude!

The movers were great. They were polite and worked quickly and efficiently. Having said that, the experience was terrible. 1) They showed up 1 hr late even though I asked to be the first move of the day to ensure that they arrived on time. 2) They charged by the hour, but they rounded up 3.5 hrs up to 4 hrs. 3) I specifically asked about hidden charges because moving companies are notorious for them, and the lady on the phone told me that 1 flight of stairs was included, but then I got charged $ 30 for a «stairs fee». 4) They were supposed to have tools and blankets, but they had no tools and maybe 3 blankets.
I got sucked in by a low hourly rate, but with the rounding up and the $ 30 fee, I wish I ended up going with a more reputable company for a higher price.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!! NEVER use them! They broke things, scratched up things because they were careless about packing, they were late, and came without any tools! And don’t get me started with Catherine on the phone! She was so rude, held them up on the phone for 40 mins for a «stair fee» that was not in the contract and demanding payment for an «anticipated extra hour and half» when they hadn’t moved anything into my new place yet! The guys themselves were nice enough but it was just a horribly stressful experience I would not recommend this company for anything at all.

If I could give them zero stars that’s what I would give! It took them 13 hours to move my 2 bedroom apartment. The guys told me that it would take them a while, like 5 or 6 hours. It should not have taken more than 5 hours. They were extremely inexperienced and slow, which I had to pay for of course. Granted the guys were nice so I feel like of badly about trash talking them however this was the worst move of my life.
They broke dishes, the garage door where I live, trashed my daughter’s dollhouse behind my back I guess because they couldn’t get everything inside the truck (due to lack of experience with packing the truck), kept the dolly that came with my crate rental (I will have to pay $ 75 for), and put my bed together any kind of way causing me to go crashing to the floor days later.
It took them two trips, which I have no clue why. I was able to move the same amount of stuff in a Uhaul the same size last year. They did not disclose that it would be an additional cost for the second trip until it was time to pay. It cost me $ 725 for this 13 hour move. I could’ve paid the same for professionals who moved me in half the time.
I had only taken out $ 600 from the atm which was my daily limit. I estimated it would cost a lot less that that @ $ 75+$ 45 per hour for 6 hours. When it came up to $ 725 and I needed to pay the difference they would not accept a credit card. Told me they would keep my stuff and call the police for not paying. lol Who doesn’t accept credit card as a backup, especially when you plan on ripping people off?
The manager on the phone was the rudest thing ever. She just kept telling me that I had more stuff than an average two bedroom. Does the average two bedroom have equivalent to a one bedroom? I’m missing something.
Save your money and your time. I wish I would have read the reviews but this was last minute planning on my part. I even got the stackable crates to make things easier. It came with two dollies to easily be able to wheel them. I am seriously considering taking them to small claims court. I know talking to the manager will be a waste of time.

I wish I had read these reviews before I booked them. The two men who showed up were extremely slow, scratched up my furniture and broke several glass items. They also took several «smoke» breaks. It took them three hours to move one bed, one couch, one chair, a dining table and a mirror from one building to the next — ten steps away. It should have been a one hour job. As a matter of fact, it was when I moved it all with a friend and from further away than just the next building.
But the manager (Kate) takes the cake: she was extremely rude and foul mouthed and ended up hanging up on me while we were speaking. No manners at all! Really disappointed in such poor service. Will never use them again, and would not recommend them to anybody.

This review will contain only the facts of our move using EC Movers and you can be the judge of whether this was a professional moving experience or not.
The move was from DC to Maryland. It was expected to begin at 4 p.m. It began at 6 p.m., but they did call to let us know. This was the first day on the ob for one of the movers. They had not eaten and told us they were hungry.
The movers did not have ANY tools to assist them in case, for example, a table leg needed to be removed. They did not know how to angle a couch so it could be moved through the front door, we had to figure it out for them. It took ONE HOUR to do this. They did not have any idea how to drive to the new home and did not have a GPS system. Since trucks are not allowed on the GW Parkway, WE had to figure out the best route through the city and they had to follow us all the way.
When we arrived at the new home, they refused to unload anything until we paid them. IN CASH ONLY. Even though we were told that ccredit cards would be accepted. Even though the move was not yet completed and therfore did not know how much time the total move was going to actually take. We thought our belongings were being held for ransom. We HAD to pay what they DEMANDED.
If this is the kind of moving experience you want, then hire them. Otherwise, go elsewhere.

Despite the reviews, I was swayed to use these movers because of the cheap cost. It was NOT worth it.
They showed up 7 hours late after repeatedly telling me they were only 30 minutes away, and when I called to discuss that I would not be paying the one time $ 50 fee on top of my moving cost, the customer service lady at their office screamed at me, told me she was canceling the movers, and proceeded to hang up and ignore my call back. Luckily they did finally come, but scratched my furniture that they moved, and took smoke breaks while moving — smoke breaks I was paying for! The actual movers were pleasant but the whole experience was terrible.

I’VE REPORTED EC MOVING COMPANY TO THE BBB, CRAIGSLIST’S CORPORATE OFFICE, and the MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF LICENSES.
I booked a reservation with this company a week in advance. It was important to me that they arrive on time. My appointment was set for 9am, I called at 9 am to confirm my appointment, and I would have never been prepared for what was forthcoming. Let me fast forwarding, with all of the back and forth, countless calls and lame explanation as to why they haven’t arrived, the driver finally pulled up at 4:45pm.
Looking Frazzled, disheveled, obviously out off touch with the important of being on time, not looking crisp, sharp, and or professional, the driver began the process of moving at 5:00pm.
Regardless, if EC MOVING COMPANY offered me a move for free, I would not patronize this, poor excuse of a business, by any means. I called the proprietor, at 2 402 711 000, who is clueless of customer service and lacks business etiquette. I tried to get through to her, that I was very dissatisfied and disenchanted with my experience,. And aside from her saying to me «go to Hell» «why are you calling me» her sentiments were a lot worst.
After being 8 hours tardy, she refused to offer any gratitude, empathy, or concern. To add to injury, she inflated the bill from our initial quote. I was not asking her for a free move, just for her to value my business, and understand that she inconvenienced me tremendously. She was very rude and annoying a most to talk to, she’s GREEDY,

I should’ve checked out these reviews. The thing is, I even called them the day before I was scheduled to move. But they were 40 minutes late with no call; the office didn’t answer phone at first but when they finally did, they were very rude and said they’d have the driver give me a call. 10 min later, nothing. They were almost one hour late, with no notice or apology. They were also rude. They may be cheap but don’t use them if you need a reliable service.

First of all they showed up one hour late. They took their sweet time loading up my belongings when they were on an hourly rate. When they got to my new apartment they unloaded my things and I found that there was a large chunk missing on my headboard in two places, scratches on almost every large item. My kitchen table has a large spot damaged. Also when I called and asked them to pay for the damage they refused and said that isn’t what they do. When I told them I would not pay until they gave me a solution to the damage they created they refused again and called the police to try and get me to pay. (The police told them that this was not a criminal situation and left. haha)
This was single handed the worst moving company I have ever used. If I could leave 0 stars for the rating I would. If you have ANY other choice including using strangers from the street I would because it will turn out better.

I have to say I was pretty disappointed with the move I had last Friday. The guys showed up on time, but the lack of urgency turned what probably should have been a 2 hour move into a 3.5 hour move that I was charged 4 hours for in addition to a stair fee that wasn’t mentioned when I received my quote. It would be one thing if that extra time went to being more careful with my things, but they broke my dresser leg off, chipped my coffee table so badly in 2 different places that its not really usable anymore, broke my shoe rack to the point where it was thrown away and scratched my 1 week old tv. I don’t have the nicest things in the world, but I don’t deserve to have shabby things. You pay movers to take care of your stuff, and I’m going to end up spending significantly more on replacing the damaged items than I did for the overpriced and under-​quoted move. It really sucks. The labor was cheaper than most other places I looked, and the guys were nice so I didn’t want to give one star, but the bottom line is what you’re paying for is to have your stuff moved safely from one spot to another, and that’s not what happened.

I booked a move with this company… but they never showed up. I called their business phone number, but I got a voice mail box was permanently full and wouldn’t let you leave a message. Hours later after I had to abort my entire move, I got a call from the company apologizing for the «mix up». Other reviews online suggest that this company chronically never shows up for moving appointments. Do not use this company… save yourself a lot of trouble. Lessons learned.

Do not give them your business. I had a schedule time for 4pm. After calling them 5 times and leaving a voicemail, I had the guy I was with call them. Of course they called him back within 2 minutes. Once he mentioned my name the lady said she did see that I had called MULTIPLE times (thank you for calling me back!). The gentleman whom I bought the couch from discussed the unprofessionalism of the whole situation.
I was called back with 10min and I let her know the least the company could have done was given me the courtesy of saying they would be late. Not ignoring my call.
I was finally called at 5:15pm by the movers and they said it would be about an hour! By 6:25 it had started down pouring. They said they had materials to cover the couch and we very close. I refused to let them move the couch I had just purchased in this weather.
Terrible, late, disrespectful. Look somewhere else.
