Allegro Event

If I could do it all over again, I wouldn’t have retained Jeannie and Allegro Event for their wedding planning services.
To be clear, this review is not for Jeannie’s services as an MC, which I will review separately.
First off, Jeannie’s «Silver Package» promises to «Assist you with the vendors selection process» and «review all vendor contracts and remind you with payment due dates.» These didn’t happen. While considering florist services, Jeannie mentioned that she had a florist friend, but there was no follow through in actually getting us connected with her florist friend. And if Jeannie reviewed any vendor contracts, it was unbeknownst to me, because I was never reminded of any due dates.
A few months before the wedding, during a meeting that we had with our site coordinator, Jeannie agreed to attend as our wedding planner and as a representative for our DJ. Not only did Jeannie show up late to the meeting, but about 30 minutes in, she requested to be excused to put more money in her parking meter. The site coordinator told her we were wrapping up anyway, so Jeannie could just leave. After Jeannie left, we fleshed out other important event details without Jeannie. This made me a little nervous: If Jeannie couldn’t plan to attend an hour-​long meeting, how much faith did I have in her planning a wedding?
During the week before the wedding, I expressed my concerns to Jeannie about how our wedding guests could be cold even with heat lamps at our mostly outdoor event. (I was mainly only concerned about cold weather and did not seriously consider the possibility of rain.) Jeannie reassured me, «Don’t worry. All you have to worry about at this point is loving [your fiancé].» Which eased my concerns, and made me glad that I had a wedding coordinator.
On the day of, Jeannie alerted me that it will rain that night, and we should order a tent. Our venue required a 3 – 4 days notice to set up a tent, so there was nothing to do at that point but to move everything inside. Almost nothing went according to plan that night.
My disappointment with Allegro is not so much how they handled the wedding night; after all, rain is not their fault. It was the prior planning process (or lack thereof) and the aftermath that makes me concerned about the professionalism of Allegro.
Strangely enough, after our wedding, Jeannie’s assistant went on to review our venue, where she appeared to chastise us for not reserving a tent. She wrote: «the couple needed to give 72 hour notice to set up the tent outdoors — but they decided to just hope for the best and go without the tent.» Actually, we didn’t «just hope for the best.» We (wrongly) underestimated the possibility of rain, but doesn’t that also go for your planning team? Jeannie had an opportunity to tell me to consider the tenting deadline during the week before, but simply told me not to worry about anything.
Jeannie’s assistant also wrote that «The bride and groom even requested to have a champagne toast with their guests last minute.» That characterization is false. The champagne toast was always in our original timeline. Either Jeannie didn’t disburse the timeline to her assistant planners, or her assistant didn’t care to review our timeline.
I don’t know why an event planner would go on to blame the bride and groom as her review did, other than perhaps Allegro was looking to gain favor with the venue to be on its preferred vendor list.
Yet not everything about Allegro was bad — Jeannie is an excellent MC (again, will review separately). The service on the night of was great, and it’s awesome that their planners speak Cantonese. Jeannie was able to assist in selecting a Chinese song for our father-​daughter dance. The price is also reasonable.
But brides, if you retain Allegro, know that you’ll still be on the hook for most of the planning, and if things don’t go right, Allegro might even blame you for it.

We love Jeannie and Allegro Events. she is very creative, dedicated and very professional .OMG i cant believe i just had my Rilakuma wedding!!! Jeannie and Allegro events are amazing! My husband and I recently got married and Jeannie was our MC and wedding planner. Jeannie was always there for us. She would come with us to vendor meetings and was always available anytime we had a question. During the planning process, we decided last minutes to move our reception to the lawn area and Jeannie helped us got good deal on the white dance floor. Jeannie and her assistants helped make our wedding day flawless. It was so easy to just not have to worry about anything because we knew Jeannie would take care of it. Also, Jeannie speaks fluent English/​Cantonese/​Mandarin which is perfect fit for our needs. She played fun games during the dinner and all our quests were all having fun. Hiring Jeanine and her team from Allegro Event as our day-​of coordinator was one of the best decisions for our company’s Grand Opening Event!
From the first meeting together to the very last moment of the process, Jeannie and her wondering assistants have been nothing more than GREAT and PROFESSIONAL help to lessen my burden of the planning. Meetings with them were always filed with new and perfect ideas and she was always on top of everything and extremely thorough and organized.
For our Grand Opening, we invited approximately 150 — 200 guests. Jeannie also helped us in the selection of the MC, DJ, Party Rental, Catering Services, lion dance service, invitation card, and even make-​up for myself. Not only helping us stay within our budget, she also saved us a lot time and money in selecting the vendors. She organized everything so details and all of our staffs understood the run down without questions.
Jeannie and her team did so much for us. All of our staffs member were glad that we didn’t have to burden any of our staffs member with any logistical tasks. More importantly, since all of the details were being handled so well, we were able to relax completely and really be present on our business grand opening event. We also got a lot of compliment for this event. I highly recommend Allegro Event to anyone who is looking for a great organizer for their important day!

Allegro Events is experienced and provide very professional wedding services. We had chosen them because they are bilingual (Cantonese/​English) and because they are honest and only recommend us the services they think we need and tell us what we do not need. They worked closely with us to stay within our budget, whether it was choosing wedding planning services, invitations, photographer, dj, lighting, down to the party favors, they always work around your budget.
Jeannie has many industry friends and had great recommendations with prices that cannot be beat. She was very involved with the entire process and would meet with us as often as we want to ensure we were always on the same page. Jeannie was also our officiant for our ceremony in Malibu, CA on 6÷12÷14. She did a wonderful bilingual job and our Cantonese guests were wowed because she is a star from the AM1430 radio shows. Everyone else was really impressed with the bilingual service.
Joanne was our day of coordinator and she was awesome. Throughout our planning she would always meet me for face to face updates and also attend meetings with vendors and go with me to dress alterations. On the day of, she was right by my side the entire day and it was the longest day ever. I was so happy everything was taken care of because there was not enough time for a bride to run around and make sure everything was in place. It was a great burden off our shoulders to have a team of reliable event coordinators put our needs first.
Jeannie was unavailable to be our MC for the reception at the San Gabriel Hilton due to a previous appointment, but her good friend Howard Lee was our MC and was amazing. He was hilarious both Cantonese and English. Also, he is another star from AM1430 radio and the guests loved him.
Our guests told us our wedding looked so amazing and was so much fun. We are so thankful for Jeannie and Joanne’s help to make our special day so memorable. Overall, if you are looking for wedding planning services, Allegro will have your back. If you are looking for Cantonese speaking planners, which is difficult to find, they also have you covered.

It was about a month and a half before my wedding and I still didn’t have a DJ or MC. I wanted someone that can speak fluent English/​Cantonese/​Mandarin. I contacted Allegro Events. Unfortunately Jeannie wasn’t available the weekend of my wedding but she recommended me a good friend of hers Howard Lee. She was really helpful on the phone and assured me that Howard would be a great MC and also he speaks all three of the languages I asked for. Turns out he is also a very popular Radio Host at a Chinese Station that my older sister LOVES to listen to. Howard was great, he entertained my guests. She also recommended Jonsen as the DJ. He was great. He had everything that was needed for the slideshow. He played all the right music. I have no complaints. Jeannie even stopped by during the end of the night to follow up on the event to see if everything went well. They’re awesome.

Jeannie just MC’d and DJ’d our wedding this past Saturday 06−14−14 and we’re sooooooo very grateful for her and her team!
First, we didn’t have a wedding coordinator so Jeannie was kind enough to help us coordinate our ceremony. She met with us before to make sure she got the names of the family introduction correct and help us with our music!!! She helped mix our first dance song and add in last minute changes to our music requests! That’s surely going out of her way to help us out.
During the reception, she was organized and helped us maintain our timeline. We were on schedule with almost everything! The audience participation game was perfect. Many guests came to tell us how hilarious that game was and it really help us make our wedding a super FUN event! I know our guests had a good time, but more importantly we, the bride and groom, had a blast too! So happy and grateful we hired Jeannie!

We worked with Jeannie and Jonsen for our wedding at Calamigos Equestrian and were highly impressed with the level of service we received from them both. I think Jeannie really listened to our needs when we were trying to figure out what to do for our ceremony and helped us come up with the perfect tone for the whole night. Jeannie knows how to show restraint as an MC and really made us feel that we were well taken care of throughout the whole process. She has a lot of experience with weddings and was able to give us all the little tips and tricks to make things run smoothly.
Jonsen was also a pleasure to work with. The uplights he suggested were beautiful and he was great at matching the music to the mood of the room. Jonsen was also very helpful in getting our slideshow set up and made sure we didn’t have to worry about any of the technical matters.
Overall, we, and especially our guests, were very happy with Allegro Events. Thank you Jeannie and Jonsen!

Jeannie is very organized and she followed the schedule on time. She had good games which i never seen it on other weddings and she can somehow get everyone engaged. During the dancing, It was the first time i saw about 90% of the guests went along the dancing game… Even my Dad, who usually very shy with any public embarassment like dancing in front of everyone, he came and join. At the end of the party, a lot of people compliment me about the mc «jeannie» and they enjoyed the night. Thank you so much Jeannie! U’re wonderful!

We attended one of our close friend’s wedding and Jeannie was the MC, she did such a great job that we also hired her to be our MC as well. Everything from start to finish went very smooth and professionally. She gave us great advice and ideas when we were planning out our time line and events at the wedding. She is very upbeat and interactive and always offering suggestion. We also hired their DJ Jonsen who was great. We had friend who sang at our wedding and he was able to help her with the sound check and make sure everything went smoothly.
On the day of the wedding, she brought energy and charm to our wedding. Everyone was having a good time and nothing got backed up. I remember when my fiancé, now husband, was freaking out because our wedding was in 2 months and we were no where close to being done! With the help of Jeannie and her staff, however, they were able to get the job done. Jeannie assured us that there is still time and we didn’t have to worry. Whew! That definitely gave us a sense of relief. :) She gave us a run down of what she needed for our wedding day to go smoothly. If we couldn’t get certain things on our own Jeannie made the extra effort to get it for us. At that time we didn’t even have a mc, florist, or bartender. Jeannie was able to refer us to Howard Lee, our MC, Mary Tang, our florist, and Wayne Yu, our bartender. All 3 of them were superb! In addition having Jeannie, Joanne, and Joy coordinate our wedding day for us was the best idea ever! We didn’t have to worry about anything other than having fun! I have nothing bad to say about Jeannie. She is very creative, dedicated and work long hours. I’ve collaborated several events with Jeannie and I was not once disappointed. She is very organized and prompt, professional and considerate. Most vendors just want to take your money and do their thing. Trust me, I’ve bumped into a few planners with a «I’m better than you» attitude when our events overlap at the same venue. I would not have recommended Jeannie if I didn’t think she would do a good job to my clients. I can wholeheartedly vouch for Jeannie that she is one amazing planner and have referred her to all my clients.
Not only does she plan, she is also an emcee (Cantonese, Mandarin & English) as well as an officiant. Between the 3 – 4 events we’ve collaborated together, she was the officiant in one of them and her speech made me laugh and then cry because it was so touching. You can’t go wrong with Jeannie & Allegro Event!

Allegro Event did a wonderful job for my wedding and planning. I worked with Jeannie. She was very helpful in planning my wedding and giving me suggestions on wedding details. She was good at reminding me to do things and following up. Jeannie was also our MC on our wedding day. She did a great job as a MC and was very entertaining. She made everyone laugh and have fun. My guests enjoyed the entertainment provided by the MC. Jeannie helped us with our church programs and finding us a DJ. The DJ was great! I’m really glad my husband suggested Jeannie to be our MC and help us plan our wedding. I will definitely refer my friends to Allegro Event.

My wife and I used Allegro for our MC/​DJ and wedding coordination needs. We found them through referral. As for Jeannie being our MC, I would say it’s not what my wife and I thought of her (which we thought she did wonderfully well), but it was the very positive feedback we got from our guests that put her over the top. Jeannie is professional, she doesn’t over talk, knows what to say and how to say things at the right time. She is also very charismatic and knows how to work the audience.
Adrian was our DJ. I wanted to surprise my wife by singing a song to her on our wedding day. Adrian took time to meet with me individually and helped me with the editing of the instrumental track and he also gave me ideas on how I might set-​up the surprise. In the end, my wife loved it.
Within our circle of family of friends, using a wedding coordinator was seen as an unnecessary luxury if you have extra money to spare. We disagree. Using Jeannie as our wedding coordinator turned out to be the best money we spent. Why would you want to make your Brides maids, groomsmen’s, best man, maid of honor, family members (people who you claim to care about), work for you on the day of your wedding. We didn’t want to burden the people we cared about so we hired Jeannie for her wedding coordinating services. She basically did all the thinking for us, and the only job we had (and the people we cared about had) to do was have fun :)
We highly recommend Allegro Event for your wedding planning needs. Lastly, make sure you book her early because her schedule fills up quickly.

wasabi (MC) and Jonsen (DJ) they are AMAZING!!! Very Professional, reliable, efficiency, most important is very REASONABLE PRICE. They work more than what we paid.
Wedding day always chaos, lots of things happened, both of us have lots of thing needs to take care. We are very happy have them that we dont even need to worried about ANYTHING, only enjoy our wedding.
Wasabi and Jonsen they have many wedding experience, they know how to do and what cannot do. They will give you great advice, listen what you needs and accommodate our requests. They will spend their time with our busy work schedule and reminds you little things before wedding. Also have higher efficiency of replying your email, meeting and go rehearsal with you.
Wasabi can do bilingual with Chinese/​english very well which our both parents could understand whats going on and know how to do. During all night reception, the game and timeline goes very smooth, nothing accident. All our guests told us our wedding was the best they had never attended, even my American friends told me the same thing too. Because of her professional, she know how to handle the incident and fix it right away. Games she provided, all guest having so much fun and so did us. Guests dont want to leave the wedding because was too much fun and they all stay until the end.
Jonsen he is such a awesome DJ, he played all the songs what we likes and very appropriate time. All day long music enhance enjoyable moment. The light they provide create great atmosphere, successfully separate the environment from ceremony to reception. The equipment projector and screen have such a great highest quality than our computer, while playing our slideshow, the pictures and music were much greater than we watch at home with PC.
If you are looking bilingual professional MC & DJ, I would strongly recommended both of them. Thank you for their such a hardworking.

It had almost been a year since our wedding at Universal Hilton, and my husband and I still couldn’t forget what a great job Jeannie, Jonsen, and Stan had done for our wedding.
We started off looking for a Cantonese/​English bilingual MC. Jeannie was very professional, nice and extremely easy to work with. She provided us with a lot of information on how weddings were done these days, from the very traditional details to weddings with a modern touch. She spent time patiently with us to answer our questions and went through the wedding timeline: what games might be appropriate, music selections, speech suggestions, etc. before the wedding and she was super supportive throughout our stressful planning time.
During that time, we were also looking for an officiant and DJ. Jeannie offered to help us to be our officiant, and she went through the process to get certified to be an officiant for us! She also recommended Jonsen to be our DJ. Jonsen was also very easy to work with, and he accommodated our needs as much as possible, such as helping us on getting a projector, screen and lighting. He and his brother, Stan, did an awesome job on the day. The music went through smoothly during the ceremony and reception, and the music selection for our games was fantastic. Jeannie, Jonsen, and Stan coordinated well on the day and saved us a lot of worries. We also received a lot of good comments from our guests about how great they felt during our wedding and how much fun they had at our wedding. Our guests absolutely liked this team!
All in all, Allegro was a great team to work with and was a vendor full of conscience. Price was reasonable, and people were super nice and easy to work along with. Smiles were always on their faces. Among all of the vendors we used for our wedding, Allegro definitely did the best job and made our experience very memorable: all promises were kept, which is very important, as some of you might have noticed from your own experience — once you signed the contract some vendors would become another person and would always say: I’m sorry; I think you may have misunderstood… I never recall saying that… blah blah blah.
I will definitely recommend Allegro to my friends and relatives! I will give them more than 5 stars if Unilocal let me do it!

My wife and I were in need of a Chinese speaking MC for our wedding this summer and was referred to Wasabi AKA Jeannie by a friend. After meeting with multiple emcee’s we couldn’t pass her charm up and professionalism. When we had our face to face meeting she conducted business in a very professional and kind manner. She was willing to work with us on your wedding schedule and ultimately has you decide on what you want on your wedding day. Wasabi was on time and ready to work on the day of. She was very responsive on all calls, texts and has a bubbly, upbeat personality which you need in a MC. Her Mandarin and English was perfect and she does speak multiple languages if you are looking for more. Everything worked out exactly as planned and we couldn’t ask for a more perfect wedding that night! We had many compliments from our guests and said she was fun and overall conducted everything beyond what we expected. If you are looking for a MC, do yourself a favor and hire WASABI! I was looking for a fluent Cantonese/​English speaking MC for my dinner reception in the San Gabriel Valley area. I would have gone with a westernize MC but both my wife and I were trying to accommodate our parents’ wishes and traditional values. We finally came across Allegro Event Inc and luckily they were available for our wedding date. We setup a face-​to-​face meeting to make sure that Allegro was exactly was we were looking for. After my (husband) first meeting with Jeannie, I was impress with her work ethic and operation. Jeannie was very detail in her work and laid out me an initial timeline of the dinner reception. Given the amount of things we covered from this first meeting, I immediately ask her for to send the contract so we can book her to MC our dinner reception. Jeannie accommodated our needs without any questions asked and provided suggestion to make it a fun and memorable dinner reception event. She’s very responsive to email and text messages and provide me an update to any changes to her schedule. About a month before our wedding, Jeannie informed me that see was required to travel overseas for permanent job and can’t MC our wedding. We were disappointed but she assured us that her replacement Howard (also with Allergo) will do an excellent MC job for our wedding since Howard was her wedding MC. Howard did a wonderful MC job at our wedding and make it a memorable night and kept the crowd entertained. A few of my parent’s guest recognize Howard’s voice since the is the radio talk host for AM 1430. Overall if anyone is looking for a Cantonese/​English MC, Allergo Event Inc is the crew you need.
