Carlos Insulation

In late December 2015, Carlos added R38 attic insulation batts to our home in Albany, CA. It greatly improved the comfort of our home and I am extremely happy we made the improvement. Carlos was very professional and takes pride in his work. He arrived on time for the estimate, his price was competitive, and he answered all our questions and concerns. One of my concerns was that the soffit vents not be blocked by the new insulation. Carlos reassured me that the new insulation would not block the vents. We decided to go ahead and hired Carlos for the job. He arrived on time for the job on the scheduled day. His crew (4) carefully sealed off the area with plastic from floor to ceiling in the area they were working to prevent dust from entering the house. They put down drop clothes to protect the floors. They put cardboard on corners where the blower hoses potentially could damage wood trim or kitchen cabinets. His crew was very careful and neat. They removed all the messy old blown-​in insulation, sealed all the penetrations for air leaks, and sealed all potential areas rodents could enter. Carlos and his crew were very thorough and took great pride in their work. They invited me to inspect their work before they started to install the new insulation. The attic was very clean and I was pleased with the quality of the work. After the insulation was installed Carlos again invited me to inspect the work. Again I was very pleased with the quality of the work. After the work was done, Carlos and his crew were meticulous in their clean-​up of the job site. After they removed all the plastic sheeting, drop clothes, and protective cardboard, they vacuumed and swept. I was very happy with the clean-​up and the total job. I would highly recommend Carlos to insulate your house if you have been considering attic insulation.

Carlos did an amazing job at our house. He did a full clean/​vacuum of our old attic insulation and replaced it with new one.
We gain in temperature in no time and our energy bill went down.
That’s not all. At first to get prices, I just contacted a couple of insulation people/​company. I was amaze to see, first the amount of people who give you a quote over the phone by just checking your square footage on the Internet and, second the amount of people who do not actually climb IN the attic at all.
Carlos DID spend at least 15 min with his flash light and checked every single corners of the house. This is what a customer is looking in a professional!

Carlos and team were extremely thorough and diligent. He punched and stuffed my 1964 old walls with so much insulation the patches wanted to push back out! My kids rooms are insulated so well that my littles actually complain about their rooms being too warm with the heater on. I would highly recommend Carlos! He can hard to pin due to volume of work but keep calling! He also identified/​discovered some problem areas where water was leaking/​causing dry rot and brought to our attention. In short, if you desire a home to be warm in the winter and cool in the summer, call him!!!

Carlos and his team were great – knowledgeable, polite, punctual, and competitively priced. They arrived on time and carefully covered all floors and walls to prevent damage in addition to wearing boot covers. They were extremely thorough and removed all of the old insulation rather than covering over it as some other companies had suggested; that’s not a good idea since the old insulation is frequently soiled with droppings and other nasties. The guys sealed off the entrance to the attic as much as possible to contain the mess. They carefully sealed all entry points to the attic before laying down new batt insulation. They provided numerous photos to show their work to me at various points during the process. They used high quality materials and quoted me a very fair price given the additional labor involved in laying batt insulation vs new blow-​in insulation. There was a delay in getting the planned insulation for the job, but Carlos substituted a higher-​quality product without charging me extra. He went above and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied. We will definitely consider them in the future to insulate our exterior walls.

I called Carlos because we had mice tearing up our attic insulation. The crew did a great job sealing up everything, re insulating, and even created a storage platform larger than what was there before. Cost was reasonable and the work was excellent.

Carlos and his crew are awesome. We talked Friday, he came to estimate the job Monday and started Wednesday. We had the attic cleaned up from old insulation material, but Carlos recommended to wait with new insulation because of potential roof damage. He offered to walk me through and we went together into the attic to inspect. He showed me all the problem spots, and explained what needed to be fixed. He explained his approach to insulating our old house by filling holes and closing gaps. He has a great attention to detail, and I believe him when he says that he wants to have it perfect. We paid him half the estimate for the cleaning, but I feel he could have easily just continued with the job to get the full money. Instead, he insisted that unless we know for sure that the roof is fixed, he didn’t believe that putting in insulation would be worth it. In other words, he insisted on holding off with the complete job unless it would promise to have a perfect result. This alone should give you an indication of the level of quality that Carlos delivers. Excellent job, and I’m looking forward to have his work complete once our roof is fixed. Of course, this high level of quality is not cheap, but I think he is worth the money.

I was originally going to go with a cheaper company but I’m glad we went with Carlos who seemed to care and super passionate about his work rather than other companies where they’ve been in business a short while and focus in volume

Got my attic cleaned out, sealed and added R-​38 insulation. Carlos gave a reasonable price and made sure nothing get’s damage during the job by adding protection around the working area. Great work from Carlos and the crew!

Carlos insulated our 1800 sq ft home in Walnut Creek. We are so happy with his work. We have noticed our home much warmer without the need to be running the heater all day. The change is amazing!
Carlos and his crew were punctual, worked diligently and made sure the work was done right, no short cuts. They removed old insulation and cleaned everything up. We did have some rodent problems in the past, that was all cleaned up and they even sealed up any areas where rodents could enter our roof. They are were very detailed.
We did get other estimates and by far Carlos was the most reasonable by quite a bit. We recommend Carlos insulation without any hesitations. Thank you Carlos insulation for a cozy warm home this winter.

Scheduled with Carlos over a month ago for attic inspection. No show to the home appointment, no call, not response to the text messages. Waited for Carlos for 2 hrs. I missed work. This is your work ethic? This is how you run your business?

Just like everyone else has said, Carlos is the best. He takes immense pride in his work and doing the job right. He came out and personally quoted insulating my exterior walls with blown in insulation and cleaning /​sealing /​and re-​insulating my attic.
Less than a week later, he shows up with 5 guys to tackle the walls (we are waiting on the new roof for the attic). This was no small job. Almost all exterior walls of an 1800 sq ft, 2 story home. Each wall needs a hole near the ceiling and below the mid joist, and every 16″. They were very detailed in the prep, covering everything to avoid damage and mess. Carlos personally showed me the process of blowing the insulation in and them sealing it up. The patch jobs were very well done, and only needed very quick/​light sanding by me after (could probably have gotten away with no sanding at all).
Carlos and his team even put insulation in to some extra areas we hadn’t discussed before without charging me any extra. Plus they sealed up some gaps in my garage where pests could get in just because they noticed them, and again didn’t charge extra.
The attic is next, and I’m sure Carlos and his team will do an awesome job once again. Highly recommend him.
P. S. it’s seriously a ton of holes in your walls, and all need to be textured afterwards and then painted. If you do it right, you basically are repainting the entire walls, but will never notice the holes had been there. Might want to keep this in mind when doing a project like this. Extra money to pay someone, or cost of materials and time to do it yourself.

I hired Carlos to reinsulate the exterior walls of my 1960s home in Milpitas, as my air conditioning bills have been very high. He recommended blown cellulose insulation for the walls, and batting insulation for the garage. We agreed on a price, and the following week, Carlos and his crew arrived. All of the workers were very careful to put down paper and plastic sheeting to keep my house clean, and worked hard to finish in one day. Carlos made a point of showing me how much insulation his crew had blown into the walls; they are no longer hollow! I was impressed by how much insulation they added to my walls. It’s very clear that Carlos is passionate about ensuring that the customer is happy with the results.
The only thing I would ding Carlos on is not keeping me informed of delays in arrival. He had to cancel my first estimate appointment, and didn’t call me; I had to call him. His crew got delayed by bad traffic Monday morning, which is understandable, but no one called to let me know that they were going to be late. If not for this, I would be very comfortable in giving Carlos and his crew five stars.
Definitely recommend Carlos and his crew. Fast, professional, and reasonably priced.

I chose Carlos based on Unilocal reviews and his amazing service prompted me to start reviewing on Unilocal again after years of only reading! He came over to check out our project (an uninsulated «finished» garage) on Saturday. Then came on Tuesday to start and finish the job. He showed up when he said he would. I hadn’t cleared out the garage, but he apologized for not being clear in his directions and did it for me. His crew found 6 mummified rats in my attic (gross!!!) as well as the holes they were getting in through. One of the big holes let out a bunch of cellulose insulation spray into my neighbors’ yard. Carlos told me about it. It took one of his crew about an hour to clean up, but even my neighbor said he thought Carlos did a great job. Needless to say, Carlos cleaned up our site (and took the rats). He also let us know what structural things we needed (a vent, some patches for those holes!!) that he didn’t provide. He used a combination of batts and cellulose for our project, clearly explaining the advantages and disadvantages of different ideas I’d had. Summary: Carlos is great!

Carlos is THE Best! Honest, Dependable, Knowledgeable. I’m so glad we went with him to clean our attic and put insulation in. He and his workers were polite and concerned with keeping my house clean as they worked. Well worth the money we spent on him.
If you are looking for someone to do insulation work definitely call Carlos.

Carlos, Victor, and Jose showed up bright and early and went right to work. They worked quickly and efficiently for the next 14 hours. Our 90 yr old house has several gables so the work was very labor intensive. Lots of angles and hand work. In addition they insulated the crawl space.
They were careful and did a good job of cleaning up.
Carlos is very personable and anxious to please. He is proud of his work and it shows.

I contracted Carlos based on positive reviews on Unilocal.He and his crew did not disappoint. They arrive at my home on time and his crew was very courteous. They laid down floor coverings and covered the furniture in the garage to protect it. The jobs entails blown in insulation thru finished walls and ceiling. They patched the holes nicely and cleaned out the space after the job. Although the job required additional insulation that was not included in the quote, Carlos did not charge me extra. He honored the quoted price and did not make it a big deal.
I would recommend Carlos to anyone needing insulation work. This guy is awesome!

I used to think that nobody will take care of your house as good as I would. That changed with Carlos. He treated my attic as if it were his own. He blew in more that the agreed upon R-​value. He sealed up all the drafts and access ways. The result is a tighter house. The house is 10 degrees warmer in the morning. Thanks Carlos!

Awesome guy and crew. Came on time and did exactly what I asked him to do with the attic insulation.
I got the cellulose insulation after much research.
He even provides before and after pics which is great.
Prices are reasonable not super low but not super high. My houses attic cleanup wasn’t easy but they executed well.
Definitely will recommend him. Solid and honest guy. My house doesn’t feel as cold as anymore!

Carlos is such a delight to deal with. He is knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He gets his hands dirty with his crew and by the way, these guys are *FAST*. They did my whole attic today in about 6h (1400 sq. ft).
I recently had my roof done and the city inspector told me to upgrade my insulation from the original R19 to the new R38.
We live in this old house and my attic was just a huge mess. There was a wood structure inside the attic (no idea what it was for, or why it was there, my guess that it was some old roofing structure left behind). There were also these super weird boxes (that sincerely looked like coffins). There was also, believe it or not several rolls of brand new insulation. There was even a mattress !!! All this left by the previous owner. Apparently, he was using the attic as some sort of personal dumping site…
Plus, the insulation (original, which should be R19, but it was more like R6, per Carlos) was all old, and there was a mix of Styrofoam boards (seriously), blow in insulation, no insulation, you name it !!!
Carlos crew came in, cleaned up everything. Removed the wood structure, the weird boxes (which were empty, thank God!!!), cleaned up everything, vacuumed, sprayed some pest repellent thing all over, sealed every external opening with expanding foam.
Then they rolled in new BATTS insulation (not that blow-​in crap, which gets your whole house dirty for days to come after the job…), all to R38 spec.
I went through the attic with one of his crew members. he showed me everything. it was actually smelling great (I guess the pest repellent has some sort of nice smell added to it). it was all clean and the insulation nicely settled in.
They even used some of the salvaged insulation and the brand new rolls that were inside the attic and put insulation through the external attic walls (which is not even required by code, but it helps a lot). All for no extra cost !
It is about midnight right now, and the house does definitely seem warmer. The furnace has not even turn on yet, believe it or not !!!

Carlos came in after I had cleared out my main attic and then looked at my untouched lower attic. He gave me a very fair price, then actually did more work than what he quoted me. He found a problem in my lower attic that we didn’t know about, and didn’t try to up-​charge me for the extra effort. He stood by his quote, and performed the extra work without trying to get extra money for it. As he said, he «just wanted it done right.» I highly recommend Carlos and his crew. They were professional, tidy, on time, and very fair on the price. Wouldn’t hesitate to call them again.
