Mike was great. He accommodated a same day installation and did an excellent job at a reasonable rate. He worked quickly but took the time to answer questions and seemed to pay very close attention to detail. We’re very happy with the work he did on installing a 60 inch tv above our fireplace. Called Mike after Geek Squad came to house and I learned they cant do electrical work (outlet) needed for above fireplace mounting. Mike mounted my 60″ Samsung with all wiring hidden in a couple of hours. Thanks again for a great job.

I called Mike for some guidance. He was knowledgeable, straightforward and did not hesitate to answer some detailed questions. I would not hesitate to use him going forward.

Based on Unilocal reviews, we called Mike to install five wall mounted televisions (two were pre-​wired and just changing mounts and TVs). We told him in advance the mounts we needed and he had them all on his truck. They are great mounts and very sturdy. He works quickly and knows what he is doing. Very personable and makes sure you like the placement before he starts. Also, he will stay as long as it takes to get the job done. I am very pleased with his service and would use him again. The only thing I feel the need to post is he does not hard wire electrical. He will cut drywall behind the TV, install a large hole faceplate, run an extension cord to another drywall cut directly below, add another large hole faceplate, and then you plug into an outlet. I don’t mean this as a negative comment, but just to give you a heads up.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I texted Mike early in the day; he responded back within the day and we agreed on an appointment for the following week to install a new TV and Receiver for my family room. Mike quoted me a flat rate, which was very reasonable. Two days before the install, Mike had a free morning, called to see if I was available for THAT SAME MORNING. I was, and within a few hours I was installed and fully operational. Now, my install was a little more complex than I had thought it would be (in-​wall wiring and a faux stone fireplace), but Mike happily accommodated, adapted, and got the install done with only a modest adjustment in cost for the increased time and materials. Very friendly, personable and professional throughout.
If you read any of my reviews for professional/​personal services, you know that I don’t mess around when it comes to my accountant, lawyer, electrician, plumber, and pool technician. I will from now on include Mike at A/​V Innovations.

Called several companies and Mike returned my call right away. I explained what I needed and even sent him some pictures as my install is a little more difficult than most. We wanted to install my 65″ TV in front of a stacked fieldstone (think varying depths to the rock face) and not a flagstone (think flat facing like slate) fireplace. Not really any good way to attach to the flagstone since there is about 11 inches of difference of depth in parts of the stone work all over the fireplace itself. Mike looked at the pictures, we talked about our options and what we were looking at as a final look and feel to the project. He gave me a price, and we set up a time and date to have him do it. So, we had to go ceiling mount like in an industrial set-​up. Mike showed up with the parts, and more importantly, a great attitude about getting this project done and done correctly. He admitted he had never done a project quite like mine but it was going to be a great bit of experience for him in case he runs into it again. I have to say he worked hard, I had to run and pick some parts up when we ran into a slight snag on the install, but he did a great job. The look and feel of the project was just what we wanted. Even though we hadn’t talked about it, he also ran some extra wires through the cable runs for future expansion at no cost. And the install job with the electrical and the mounting is so clean. He even ran the wires through the down pole from the ceiling. I know it ended up taking longer than he expected, but he kept after it and didn’t charge me any extra, he stuck by his estimate. Mike was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a great AV installer. As a side note, when women come in and look at the TV they all say, wow, that TV looks so big! Now this is the same TV that we have had sitting on a table for over a year now. And the guys? Wow, that looks so cool there, you feel like you are part of it. Movies are better, soccer games are more intense. It seems more immersive than when it sat on the table. So, let Mike hook you up, he knows how to do a fantastic job. I hope you find this review helpful.

Mike is FANTASTIC. First-​time home owner here and was basically exploring options for a 5.1 home theater that incorporated in-​ceiling speakers. Mike started educating me about various options over text and phone and gave me a good sense of what was appropriate for what I needed and what may be superfluous in terms of the speakers, sub and receiver. All of this was before I completely committed to contract him for my home theater setup. Overall, the job entailed 1) installing 5x in-​ceiling speakers, 2) mounting a 55″ TV to align with the front-​center speaker, and 3) complete A/​V calibration with receiver. Additionally, Mike sold me a really nice Yamaha receiver at a really great price — brownie points right there. All in all, Mike is a no BS kind of guy — when he’s at work he hustles, and when the work is done it’s just beautiful. Post-​job customer service is awesome as well — he dropped by just to hook up an optical audio cable through some tricky in-​wall conduit to make my TV truly float on the wall, and he also answered via text some questions I had on basic usability as I am getting used to using a receiver for the first time. Bottom line — Mike is a guy you can trust, and when it’s a nice system you want a pro like Mike to get the job done right so you can have that peace of mind!

Mike was timely, organized, neat and smart enough to figure out my very difficult installation. I was replacing a very old wall mounted plasma tv and outdated components (wires everywhere) with a new flat screen and he guided me through what I needed. He was able to update my system so it is easy to use and attractive. Mike is precise and efficient which is just what you want in an AV installation and his pricing is great! If you want precision, friendly service and AV work done professionally and to your specifics — Mike is your man!

Having a Halloween party and wanted outdoor speakers. In addition to the positive Unilocal reviews, Mike was highly referred by two other friends. We first spoke by phone and luckily was able to get on his schedule within the week. He had to go under the house and fit through a very small space to run the wire. What I also appreciated is the suggestions. 1. Told me he could use less wires if I exchanged out my cable box. Since Charter was just down the street, no problem to go pick up a HDMI compatible box. 2. Placement suggestion of speakers. Now I have music outside, apple tv, sony blu ray and my cable on one remote with an awesome app to control everything.

I am new to California and trusted Unilocal reviews to guide me in selecting the right person to setup my house. After calling Mike and having a brief discussion, I had a very good feeling that Mike was reputable, professional and creative. After answering a few questions, we made an appointment for the next day — he came over and took notes from all the rooms where I wanted TVs wired and mounted. Two were completely new systems I needed designed and two other rooms required mounting of existing equipment.
Mike walked through all of his recommendations, making it very simple to understand. He gave me multiple pricing and quality options, all on the spot. We agreed on the design, components and pricing all in that initial visit. His pricing and approach was very professional and reasonable. He was very honest about where he could give me a good deal, versus recommending me going to Costco or Best Buy to buy equipment, which he would then install. It became very clear to me that Mike has the customers’ best interest in mind, never forcing his equipment or opinions on anyone — it was a stress free and fun process working with him.
Since hiring Mike, he and his helper have done quality work and have exceeded all of my family’s expectations. He took into consideration our budget, our preferences and how we planned on using the systems in each room. He was detail oriented and performed high quality work. As an example, several rooms required cutting openings out for in ceiling speakers and running lots of wires. After each step, he and his helper took great care in cleaning up and making sure we felt the work was completed to our 100% satisfaction.
I cannot say enough about Mike and his work. If you need a system designed and/​or installed, I would highly recommend you contact Mike — if you have to wait for his schedule to open up, it is well worth it.

Mike just finished our home, mounting 3 TV’s and setting up our new Bowers and Wilkins setup. This guy is amazing, punctual and fast but super meticulous. I’ve used plenty of different companies in the past where they’ve sent 2 – 3 guys to do a job Mike did by himself in less time. No need to look for someone else, just use this dude.

July 16, 2015 — I was having extreme pain with getting my new Samsung TV and Pioneer Receiver to work plus my other input devices. I tried for two weeks with great frustration. Today I decided to call for help. Unilocal had fantastic reviews for AVI (Mike Meier) so I called. He answered my call, said he could be at my home in less than two hours and he made it.
He worked for 2 ½ hours troubleshooting numerous bad connections, a bad HDMI cable and other configurations. In the end everything, I mean everything worked as intended.
I am so impressed with AVI. Smart, clean, knowledgeable, professional and affordable.

Bought a new 55″ HDTV on Saturday only to discover it was just slightly too big for my existing TV stand. So I decided it was probably time to wall mount the TV. I saw the plethora of 5-​star reviews for Mike on Unilocal and decided to give him a call about 2pm. He called back within 5 minutes and arranged to be there at 6pm.
He showed up with the mounting hardware and got everything installed within an hour. He also provided some longer HDMI cables as well as some optical cables I needed to hook things up properly.
He was super professional and well worth the money. He deserves all his 5-​star reviews. I will use him again in the future.

I called at least 3 installers and Mike was the only one who called back. He was very flexible with the schedule since my flight was delayed on the day that we originally setup and made it out the next day.
I am very happy with the work since Mike was relentless in doing the work right with minimal wall cutting. I now have 5 speakers installed, 2 of which were in-​ceiling speakers (and I have vaulted ceilings).
Now my entertainment system is ready for the Pacquiao-​Mayweather fight.

Found Mike on Unilocal… and he lives up to the ratings. Easy to get on the phone and super professional.
As for the install, Mike installed 3 TV’s for me and hooked up my audio equipment. Even gave me a ride in his truck to pick up the tv’s vs waiting for delivery. He’s meticulous with his work. Super clean installation with no short cuts. Definitely the only person I’d consider using or would refer for any audio/​video needs.

If you want your Man Cave setup, wired, and supercharged for surround-​sound, then Mike at Audio Visual Innovations is the best man for the job!
My 65″ plasma made it through the trip to Orange County unscathed, but it needed to be ensconced in my new Man Cave and outfitted with a new receiver and a new sub-​woofer to replace the equipment that didn’t survive the trip. My Realtor recommended AVI to do the work so I gave them a call. On the phone, Mike Meier (the owner/​operator) asked me about my existing sound system and equipment, and we talked about what how I wanted my new Man Cave to end up. He answered all my questions, and allayed all my concerns; after ten minutes, I was convinced the job was in expert hands and scheduled a day for Mike to do the work.
Arriving on-​time, Mike and I did a walk-​through, and talked about the wiring and the various options for speakers and a receiver. I picked the units I wanted, and they were installed over the course of a full day’s work, which included running all the wires in the walls and ceiling, cabling and setting up all the equipment, connecting everything to my new Wi-​Fi system, and walking me through the care and feeding of my new toys.
Mike had everything (including any and all new cables required for the job) in stock and waiting in his truck except for a new LCD TV for my new bedroom entertainment system. As part of the complete service (we had agreed in advance on a flat fee for the labor), he went with me to Costco, helped me pick out a new TV, and then wall mounted it in my bedroom; my 65″ plasma TV was then mounted over the fireplace in my new Man Cave, and the job was complete.
I can’t say enough about the amazing job Mike did setting up my new systems. Everything is perfectly provisioned, with all the nuances of the equipment configured, and all the wires hidden. Mike even walked me through installing apps on my phone to control the receiver and Roku. Whatever your home entertainment needs are, I heartily recommend that you use AVI!
