Best Air is the best! Excellent service with reasonable prices. Also, prompt at returning calls and coming out on weekends & evenings, wouldn’t use anyone else!

A representative from Best Air Conditioning and Heating came out Friday Morning and inspected our AC unit. The rep first told us that the compressor may be completely out but later the Rep found the problem. The Rep diagnosed the problem in about 15 – 20 minutes and informed us that the Motor Capacitor was damaged and needed replacing. The Rep also suggested that we replace the Contactor because it hadn’t been replaced and was due for replacement. The Rep quoted us $ 310 for the Inspection, Sale, Installation, and Labor of the Motor Capacitor. We found the Motor Capacitor online for $ 11.25 on
also $ 10.80 on
. This would suggest that the labor was about $ 300. It took the rep about 5 – 10 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one. We called around and received another quote and they informed us that a reasonable market price should have been around $ 175. We feel taken advantage of because of the situation, he knew we were desperate to fix our AC unit before the holiday weekend. The Rep very nice and polite, as well as the quality of work, and we are not discounting that, we just feel that the price was high compared to a reasonable market price. If the pricing had been closer to that market value price we would have rated this service higher and considered using them in the future

Bill is the most thoughtful and knowledgeable repairman I have ever meet.
He did a very careful diagnostic of our system (including placing a camera into each register to estimate how much the air flow our under slab ducts could provide) before recommending a few solutions for our system. He also charged about ½ the quote we got from another company.
BEST is a small shop and occasionally does not reply immediately. It is worth waiting for Bill’s expertise. He’s also a delightful person. After you write him a check, you’ll want to invite him to stay for dinner.

I HIGHLY recommend Bill and Best AC & Heating! Bill is such an upstanding and genuine guy. I had a fuse blown in AC about a month ago, and Bill came late on a Friday night to fix it, as he heard I had young kids in the background. Last night, we found our AC was not working again and called BIll right away. He had a full day of appt., but he said he would try to fit us in by this evening. Sure enough, I called him early evening and he was able to come by. He noticed the thermostat was mis-​wired, and quickly fixed it, re installed and fixed fuse. Plus, he said he would give this one was «on the house.» Thanks Bill… I will no longer even try another HVAC provider. Although, I hope to not see you too soon.

What a total joke. This is probably the worst company I’ve ever found on Unilocal.Also the worst customer service experience ever as well.
Called Bill based on all the positive reviews here on Unilocal right after labor day weekend when our AC stopped cooling after the heat wave. He said he would be able to come out at 2pm to take a look. At 11am I received a call from a fellow that contracts for Bill and was asking me for directions. OK…3 hour early for an appt, and then contracted out the work. I accepted all of these due to the fact that we are so desperate to have the AC looked at. The fellow showed up, totally unprofessional, didn’t event bother to enter our house to look at the AC. He basically determined that we are low on refrigerant and wanted to sell us 2 lbs of it. He was complaining about the heat and looked like he didn’t want to be at the job. Not wanting to deal with the guy for too long, we paid to have him fill up the refrigerant for $ 215 hoping this will solve the problem.
Well it didn’t. At this point, not only was the air not cooling, some how the compressor stopped working too. So we called Bill back, and he said «we will handle it.» Sent us the same fellow again, who came at 7pm trying to «diagnosis» the problem. This painful process took 2 hours. He basically had to call Bill (who according to him, was in Vegas so couldn’t come to take a look?) and was on the phone with him trying to figure out what the problem was. At this point we know we definitely have the wrong crew for the job. These guys are incompetent. So their conversation ended by him assessing our CIRCUIT BREAKER was not giving power to the AC unit, which was causing the compressor not turning on. He also suggested an electrician who he works with who can fix the problem and this will save our AC. We basically just wanted this guy out of our house. We did not feel safe. And of course we know this is inaccurate statement.
We later had to call 2 other companies to come out, pay the diagnosis fee, and they both diagnosed that our compressor was grounded (which tend to jump the circuit breaker when turned on). It is a very common problem that Best Air wasn’t able to find. Scares me to think what they are in business for.
I give Bill a lot of credit in trying to squeeze us in to come out to take a look, however having some inexperienced, unprofessional contractor take your business and ruin it isn’t the way to go for running your business.
So beware when you give them a call. I would try a more reliable company such as West Coast Energy and trust me the wait will be worth it.

The a/​c went out around noon on a Saturday during. a heat wave. I called the bigger companies as I thought they would have the staffing to fit me in. None of them bothered to call me back. Even though there weren’t very many reviews I liked what people wrote about Bill. He’s one of the few open on Sundays. He answered the phone and said he’s try and stop by. He just left and my house is cool again. He said it was an easy fix and the bill reflected that. Excellent customer service from an honest man.

Bill came out the other day to take a second look at a condenser unit that another company said needed to be replaced. Turns out all it needed was a little freon. Thank you Bill for the honest feedback and helpful service. You saved me a lot of money. For any A/​C needs from now on I know who to call!

If I could give ten stars I would. I needed my ac serviced pronto! I called the top ten highly reviewed/​most reviewed businesses on Unilocal.And probably for that reason they were all booked for the next week or two.
Bill had a solid 5 stars but very few reviews. The reviews sounded genuine so I decided to give him a shot. He did everything he could to get to me on the same day that I called. Almost everyone else I talked to on the phone said it could be a major motor issue… he was very honest and told me that I had a very common minor problem and he charged me one tenth of what I thought I would have to pay.
He was stuck in my hot attic on a hot day but he stayed calm and professional. I provided him several water bottles! Make sure you do too!

The best ac service /​repair /​install business out there!!!

Today was 96 degrees and we noticed around 5:00 that our AC wasn’t working properly. After calling a few AC repair places no one could come out until tomorrow. So I kept looking through Unilocal and came across Best Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc. I called Bill Johnson at 6:30 and he said he had another job in our area and that he would call when he was finished. By 8:00 Bill called and said he would be right over. By 8:45 I was writing him a check for fixing our AC unit. Bill was a friendly, professional and a great guy. He identified the problem quickly and did an efficient job fixing our unit. He did not charge us extra for the late hour. I would recommend Best Air & Bill Johnson for all your air conditioning & heating needs. It was very enjoyable to have a person come in to your house and be professional and knowledgable about the problem. His rates were very, very reasonable. Its very rare that you can find a mechanic or plumber or electrician that you can trust. We just found a trustworthy AC & heater guy!

Bill has been servicing our heating and air for 23 years. The initial system was a nightmare. Bill dealt with it the best possible. He was patient, responsive, and very reasonable. We had numerous other companies come out who could not figure out the system and would bill us outrageously in spite of no repairs.
After contacting the ceo of the company who manufactured the system, even he said it was a poorly constructed system.
So when we chose to have a new system installed we use Best Air as we trusted Bill.
He installed an entire new system. He finished quickly and quietly. He kept our house clean during and after the project. The new system works extremely well. It was a difficult project as our custom home was not designed well for any system. Bill did a lot of extra work as a result of the difficulty, yet did not charge us extra.
He has continued to care, regular maintenance on the project.
I hope he never retires.

Our AC was blowing warm air on one of the hottest day of the summer. I am 7 months pregnant and with all of us and the kids sleeping on the second story of the house, I needed someone to fix the issue immediately. Bill came and fixed the problem and was reasonably priced. I am a happy mama again. Will be calling Bill in the future in needed.

Talk about a sweet honest guy! I once called him for a problem and he just told me how to fix it over the phone. He didn’t charge me or come out. He totally could have made a buck if he wanted. My parents have used him over the years and I love him. This is our only Heating/​AC guy! Highly recommend.

Bill Johnson and his crew came over last week to replace all of the ducts in our attic. The price was reasonable, they were right on time and they finished earlier than expected. Bill is a very nice guy and I had a great experience. Highly recommended.

When my heat shut down last month, Bill Johnson at Best was willing to come by that night at 9pm to check it out and then rearrange his schedule for the next day to not only fix the heat but completely refiguring out entire duct system. His prices were very reasonable and I would recommend him to anyone who needs assistance with either their heating or air conditioning.
