1^st time I have been there, I was a little lost on the whole bubble tea thing. The staff was very helpful I had a milky tea with mango. It was really good, will go back again

I’ve gone a few times with my friends, and the service here is terrible. They take a long time to make drinks, and when you do get em, the boba is undercooked, the smoothie isn’t even like a smoothie, and this isn’t even on a busy day. One time the payment system didn’t print receipts, so it took longer for my friend group to get their drinks. They’ve also stopped printed lime red logo on their cups which is weird for a bubble tea shop (maybe to save $$$)? When they make the drink, they take their sweet time making it instead of quickly processing the order so that it’ll be fresh-​not sitting half done in the mixer on the counter for a few min. Somehow, everyone does the same task of taking orders and preparing boba, making them inefficient, rather than delegating 1 role to each person.
If this business was in NYC Chinatown, they’d wouldn’t last a week. Not trying to sound elitist, but I’ve had better boba there than anywhere in 5 college area. The places I’ve gone to, they take your order, you pay, and within 5 min you have your order. I feel this is just sloppy management-​not necessarily on the workers themselves because at any retail/​restaurant job you’re expected to do your work correctly and quickly. However, the lax environment causes a lot of problems for the customer because the workers don’t seem to worry if a drink is 15+ minutes late or if they don’t keep up with having fresh boba (which is a big turn off for any boba store-it’s the main reason why people go there, y’know.)

The guy works there is very rude. And it’s way overpriced for the service they have. Music is pretty tacky as well.

My first foray into bubble tea, and it was amazing! I got coconut milky tea with boba and my friends got the taro milky tea with boba: both amazing. The honey lavender macaron was also very tasty. It was a nice way to warm up with freezing weather outside! Will definitely be returning.

Came here with some buddies on a slow afternoon. I got the grapefruit green tea — the tea was oversteeped and bitter, tasted like no syrup/​sweetener was added, and grapefruit juice flavor was very minimal. There was a good amount of boba though. We also got a classic
black milk tea which had a good amount of boba with the right texture and cooked perfectly. Unlike the green tea, the black tea was a tasty blend, & not over steeped.

Best place in western MA for some good boba! Ever since I found LimeRed, I’ve been making the effort to drive through springfield, MA to get some yummy, yummy bubble milk tea. I’ve stuck to the Assam milk tea (really just black milk tea??) and its been pretty solid.
The place is usually empty whenever I stop by, and makes for a decent place to sit down and get some work done. The only con is that it closes SUPER early.
Parking is plentiful on the street, especially in the afternoon when the meters stop ;)

I don’t normally Unilocal but I felt like I really had to share my experience here. This review is based on the service that was provided. I wish I could give it 0 stars. I was just in there last Saturday (which happened to be the 1^st weekend when students began classes). We only had to wait 1 minute before we placed our orders for 2 bubble teas which was great. It wasn’t that busy but we waited 45 minutes!!! It was ridiculous and I went up to the counter and spoke with this man and of course we are a little bit frustrated that it would take that long to just make 2 drinks. He was very rude. He basically said that they were doing an order of 300 drinks when we placed our order and they needed to get those done. OK? First off, you still need to serve your customers who come into the store or at least inform us that it would be a wait because you were filling a bigger order. We would have not ordered if that was the case. The man at the registered basically said it would be another 5 mins and our order would be ready. So we waited… Then what frustrated me more was that I saw people who were in line 10 minutes after us walking out with their drinks. I mean, isn’t it first come first serve? This is 50 minutes by the time we ordered by the way (took same amount of time, if that even longer to order food next door at Crazy Noodle). I was so upset at the level of service they provided that I just asked for a refund and while doing this (10 minutes after the man at the registered said it would be done in 5 minutes), they still didn’t even make to make our simple honeydew and red bean bubble teas. COME ON NOW. Seriously? We got the refund and walked out and drove to the Northampton LimeRed and it took his less time to drive there and get our drinks then waiting here at this Amherst location. Note to management: You should really train your employees and teach them some customer service skills.

the coconut milk tea with boba here is my favorite! I’ve only had the fruity bobas here once but those were also amazing. the atmosphere is calming and very much like a tea house. love coming here after classes to just chill with friends :)

This is literally the worst business I’ve ever seen operate. Their customer service is horrendous, their prices are ridiculous and they can’t even keep their hours consistent. They say they’re open till 11:30 but for their own convenience they close at 9 in the summer and don’t even have the decency to update their facebook, website, or Unilocal page to keep their customers in the loop. Try crazy noodles next door. They’re way better in every way possible. For bubble tea and smoothies.

I’ve been going to LimeRed since my freshman year (going into my final year), and I am in there at least once a week and that staff knows me by name and order. I confess– I have a problem. While the staff has turned over, the boba drinks are still as addicting as ever! It does get crazy busy sometimes and the stress does tend to rub off on the staff but they are usually welcoming and fast. Pretty pricey compared to the boba drinks in Chinatown.

I will keep this review short with a list of pro’s and a list of con’s.

The service
— Employees move slowly, but when their friends come in, they all the sudden move fast.
— I once called to order bubble tea ahead of time, because the employees take so long. I got someone on the phone who said they would transfer me to their main Lime Red Office. This «transfer» never happened.
— Employees have different skill levels — had a gross bubble tea with so much powder in it.
Lime Red could be great if the employees moved quicker and had more charisma and skill level making the drinks.

This is the best place to stop for refreshing bubble tea. They have a great menu with plenty of great flavors (my favorite include the Taro and Coconut) and lots of ways to mix and match what you want! It’s usually pretty busy and but its really cute inside, definitely design a sticky note to add to their wall collection:) Lime Red is a good place to meet up with some friends right in the center of town.

Limered has always given me and my kids exceptional service, so I’m kind of disappointed to have to leave this review… but it sat with me uncomfortably for a while, so I finally decided to submit it because I thought it was important for the good of the store and its customers.
I understand it was probably very hectic at the time of homecoming weekend of UMass because so many students were out and about, but I think there was some inexcusable behavior going on in the store and I feel it needs to be brought to people’s attention. While I brought my young daughter and son in to grab a late night drink after they came back from some school extracurricular activities, I heard and saw some disturbing things.
While some of the employees were making drinks for those waiting in line, another employee (who I think is actually a manager, I’ve seen her before) walked into the store reeking of smoke and alcohol. I did not catch her name exactly, but she was a larger, short woman with dirty blonde hair.
When she walked into the store she was openly hollering about how she was «so fucking high and drunk» and even went on to shout at her employees about her personal sex life as she blatantly made several drinks for herself and did not stop to help her coworkers. It was clear to me at that point that not only were the customers in line made extremely uncomfortable, but any kind of family friendly atmosphere was totally shattered. My kids heard the entire thing, and I did not hesitate in leaving the store immediately. Her coworkers even seemed in disbelief and only one person behind the counter (A manager I hope) bothered to yell at her.
How can this behavior be allowed in the work place? I seriously couldn’t believe it myself and I find it more than just unprofessional. I have worked so many service and retail jobs and I know if someone had ever pulled something like that at my jobs, they would be fired on the spot.
That kind of behavior perturbed me very deeply and I have since told many others about it. I will not be coming to Limered again unless things change. I hope that they will.

Lime Red is a great place to stop for a refreshing beverage.
They’re big, colorful, comfortable, clean, and their staff is incredibly friendly and will often go out of their way to help.
They also have hand drawn art made by their customers hung up all over the place which is awesome.
That said, they’re also a popular college hangout so they can get pretty jam-​packed when school is in which can make them uncomfortable and claustrophobic.
I also kinda feel like an @$$hole paying $ 5-​plus for a cup of strawberry/​mango iced tea, but it’s effing delicious so whatever.
Since they’re in Amherst I don’t get to stop here often, which saves me moneys, and makes their delicious tea more of a treat.
If you’re a local, you might as well hand over your PIN number and tell them «here, take all my moneys».
Either way you should stop by some time and throw some of your hard earned dough their way.
And don’t forget to draw a picture for the wall while you’re there.

My friends and I dropped by Limered Teahouse for some bubblemilk tea yesterday. We claimed an offer of Buy 1 Free 1 from Facebook. Its the 2^nd time Ive dropped by Limered, but one of my friend is a regular there. Prices are standard for bubble tea/​milk at 3.75 per cup. With the deal, its pretty affordable, coming out at $ 4 for two cups including tax.
I got the Regular sized Honeydew Milk Tea with extra fruit jelly and 75% sugar. It was pretty good. Id like it to be more creamier, but it was alright. The place is really packed (weekend night). It takes about 5−10mins to get your drink. However, it’ll be great if they had a bigger place and more seatings available as it was not very comfortable seating 5 people at a table meant for 2. Hopefully their popularity would allow for a bigger outlet in the future.

Since my first visit, I never stopped coming back. One the best places to get bubble tea! It had become my addiction. I even take my whole family there! What makes it even better is that they always reward you for coming back, which is great for me and my family. We always buy six drinks each visit and nothing beats that!
Ever since it was introduced to me, my all time favorite has always been the cold peach bubble tea with matcha jelly and 50% sugar. For the blisses, taro almond with boba. I even have different favorites when it comes to hot drinks. The choices are endless! You never really know what you get when you mix around drinks!
On top of the great variety of delicious drinks, they have a great staff! Very friendly and makes you feel right at home. The ambiance is just right if you’re looking to do some work or just chat with friends.
I highly recommend this place and will keep coming back! If any friends have never heard of Limered, this is the first place I always take them to in Amherst.

I love the teas here and the fact that you can choose between different types of Bubbles in your tea too !

This is the only boba place in town, so it does the job when it comes to fulfilling craving.
I really like that they give you the option to choose the amount of ice and sugar. Boba drinks are usually very sweet! so I recommend getting 50% sugar. However, compared to boba places in Boston, New York, and San Francisco, this place isn’t very good.
The line gets VERY long during the school year! So inevitably they have forgotten my drink on many occasions, and I was disappointed that they didn’t even apologize.

Late night stop for hot almond tea with boba. On a chilly autumn evening, this definitely hit the spot.
Love the cozy ambience. Grab a drink, pull up a seat and just relax while people freeze outside.

After a six mile hike all my friend wanted was a smoothie from this place. That definitely says a lot. I have maybe had bubble tea once in my life, but I figured with rave reviews from her, we couldn’t go wrong.
I ordered a strawberry ice with lychee in it and she had the taro with red beans blended in — as you can see, she knows what she’ s doing.
We also ordered a plate of chicken basil dumplings and the staff was kind enough to make sure we were okay with waiting 10 minutes for them to be prepared (they were also nice enough to come over and tell us what song was playing when they saw our shazam failures). The dumplings were definitely worth the wait. The dumplings were so light and tasty — I actually didn’t need any soy sauce with them, and I’m a big fan of soy sauce.
The smoothie was okay. The strawberry was a little sweet, and the lychee is a little weird as it comes up the straw, but it gave it a little something different.
I don’t know if I’d come back for the drinks, but I would definitely come back for the food and the friendliness of the staff.
