History
Established in 1994.
Modern Memoirs, Inc. was established in 1994 because founder Kitty Axelson-Berry wanted to honor her mother’s life experiences in archival form, and realized that books are the best, most comprehensive format, even today.
Along the way, she also founded the international trade association for related businesses, The Association of Personal Historians (1994); The American Tribute Center (2002), a non-profit that wrote and privately published Tribute Books for bereaved families of 9⁄11; and the self-publishing imprint White Poppy Press (2010).
Since its inception, Modern Memoirs has focussed on personal service and high quality writing, editing, design, and publication. We have written or edited and produced hundreds of memoirs and other books, from memoirs of Holocaust survivors to art books by poets and painters.
