What happens in my office is sacred, but not always serious. My clients feel safe to not only give voice to their deepest feelings, but also to laugh and joke as we uncover new truths and recognize old patterns. My clients know they are supported to create the changes they wish to see in their lives. I am able to bring in a number of different tools from various modalities so that we can find what’s a good fit for your needs. You’ll enjoy working with me if you appreciate irreverent humor, spirituality, and Eastern approaches.

You and I will work together to understand the patterns and dynamics that get played out in your life and in your relationships. We’ll explore what may have created the difficulties you face and we’ll collaborate to develop tools and strategies to overcome them.

We’ll uncover what is in your heart, how to communicate and act on that, and how to get your needs met.

History

Established in 2007.

Licensed as Marriage and Family Therapist in early 2007 (MFC 44 479), I have been working with clients since 2002. I graduated from John F. Kennedy University in 2003 with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology through their Transpersonal Psychology program. I wrote my Master’s Thesis on Cult Recovery and how to help clients heal from cult/fundamentalist experiences or controlling relationships.

Here’s a little of what you can expect from therapy with me:

I believe therapy should be practical and should not be a mystery to the client, so I’ll often let you in on my thinking and encourage you to decide where we go next.

Being a client in psychotherapy takes real courage — so I find it important to balance that weight with humor and fun. Sharing in a laugh can be very healing.

I work relationally and interactively, knowing that it is just as important to confront problems as it is to acknowledge and celebrate successes.

Confidentiality, privacy, and professionalism.

Here’s a little of what I expect from my clients:

Willingness to participate

Motivation to do in-between session thinking, reading, writing, or other exercises (at least some of the time!)

Honesty — no one is perfect. I won’t judge, just be honest.

Willingness to be in wonder and to entertain curiosity about oneself and one’s process.
