Janene’s Bridal Boutique

I had a great experience here! My sales associate, Precious, was extremely helpful and patient… she let me try on as many dresses and take as many pictures as I wanted, she even let me stay and helped me an hour after my appointment was over. The shop had TONS of beautiful dresses, especially a huge selection of Hayley Paige and Allure. Highly recommend this for all brides!

First let me state that i was welcome with warmth and joy. We called ladt minute by our luck they had a cancellation and took us in right away.
I had Jennea for my bridal assistant in helping me try on dresses.
She was delightful and easy and calm and very patient to work with.
I do recommend anyone wanting a bridal dress to go and check out this bridal boutique they do have a wide range of dresses and one thing i loved is that they allowed us to look around and pick out 6 to 7 dresses to try on. It was fun with my friends because we all got a chance to pick.
That was a delight.
I definitely said yes to the dress there!

I purchased my wedding gown here about 4 months before the wedding. The store is lovely and had a great selection of dresses below $ 3k. They were very accommodating in ordering the dress as a sample size, so I could get the one I wanted in a short time frame.
My one complaint would be that the alterations were extremely expensive ($ 800) and ultimately disappointing. They mentioned during fittings that they were planning to cut the dress slightly short so that I wouldn’t trip on it when walking, but the final product was entirely too short. In all of my photos, my shoes are visible and it ended up making the dress look bad overall. A lot of the dramatic lace detail was at the bottom, so have the hem poorly cut was pretty obvious. I would not recommend them for alterations.

Beautiful bridal boutique. Nice selection of gowns. Appointments are 2 hours long. Very friendly/​helpful/​down-​to-​earth staff. A bit disorganized as admitted by said staff. There were a few styles I was looking for that should have been available, but couldn’t be found, and there were also styles they said may be in store, that might not necessarily be in the system to look up. Also, parking’s no fun in that area. I didn’t realize this, but the owner actually offers service to make gowns from scratch. Interesting, but I’m not too familiar with doing this kind of thing… I’ll probably stick to pre –designed goods.

This review is long overdue (I celebrated my 1 year wedding anniversary in October).
So… as I promised, I went back to Janene’s to look for my wedding dress. If you want the best experience, 1) make an appointment, 2) ask questions, 4) have an open mind (pretty much any dress can have sleeves, embellishments, lace…3) have fun!
I bought my wedding dress here and also Janene did the alterations. I loved all the gals here who I worked with and especially Tammy who helped me find my perfect dress. Tammy was able to recommend styles I should try that worked for my features– she was able to show me what sleeves would look like and different variations of it.
I have recommended Janene’s to several people, I know my Physical Therapist ended up going to Janene’s when I told her about my experience and she ended up buying her dress there too.

I did not say yes to the dress at Janene’s, but I did have a wonderful first time experience trying on wedding gowns. When researching bridal boutiques in the Bay Area, Janene’s popped up on
, Unilocal and was also recommended by friends. I made an appointment a week ahead and drove out to Alameda with my mother the day of. We were lucky and scored a parking space right in front where it is 2 hour metered street parking. There are also metered lots and the garage within walking distance.
We were promptly greeted by Heather, who was our consultant during the 1.5 hour appointment. Heather was really sweet at eased my nerves by making the experience fun. She let us pick out about 6 dresses and also pulled a few dresses herself. Heather helped me get in and out of all the dresses which was a huge help since they were all so long. She clipped the dresses so that we could get a better idea of how it would look, since all the dresses are sample sizes. She asked how I liked each dress and based on her experience/​judgement, would pull other dresses that she thought I’d like or that might look good on me. Throughout the whole process, Heather was patient and incredibly helpful. We laughed a lot as I tried on dresses. My mother took pictures for me, which was useful because after 5 dresses, everything seemed to be a blur.
Janene’s has dresses that can fit moderate budgets without sacrificing the feel of the dress looking expensive. They have over 400 styles and a huge selection. Alterations are a separate cost of course, but no one said it was cheap getting married! I would recommend anyone looking for a dress to check out Janene’s. If possibly, ask for Heather!

I’m from Northern California, Redding, and traveled 4 hours to get here. It was so worth it! I’d recommend every bride go to this place.
Tammy was my bridal consultant. She was honest, kind and amazingly helpful. I’d recommend specifically asking for her. She made me feel important and beautiful.
The store had plenty of selection which was great. I’m not a size 2 or 22, so not everything fit, but everything I put on made me feel beautiful with the help of Tammy. There was no pressure to buy and I never felt rushed. They had both newer and older bridal gown collections. There was even an offer to help with my budget. Wish they had a place like this where I lived.

Great place to find a wedding dress! I went to 12, yep, 12 different bridal boutiques to find my perfect wedding dress. I finally found it at Janene’s after trying on over 100 dresses in about 3 months time. I needed a place that had all my top contenders to try on for my bridesmaids. Janene’s had them all (I should have just started here).
Not only is the selection at Janene’s awesome, the staff is great as well. They were not pushy and did not rush us to make decisions. They actually felt really genuine and had real opinions about what looked nice and what didn’t. Extra credit: they even extended a promotion to me after it was over!
Highly recommend this bridal boutique!

If you’re looking for a place to take time trying on different dresses in a relaxed environment, then definitely ask for Heather as she is an incredibly sweet and patient person who has great ideas for dresses and really makes the experience fun and stress free. If I were giving a review of their sales associate Heather, she would definitely deserve more than five stars.
However, aside from Heather, I had a horrible experience. When I selected the dress they recommended, the dress that ended up being way too big (my seamstress took more than 8 inches off the dress and couldn’t take it in more because the boning started to show – the corset was just too big). On top of that, when I came back to pick up the dress I got an alterations quote that was more than 800.00 (that’s more than half the cost of the dress!). They were pretty rude the entire time and made the experience disappointing and frustrating. Heather is a dream, forget the rest of it.

I’m so happy I picked my dress from Janene’s bridal I was so happy with my special sleeves alterations and how great they took care of me even that Friday before the wedding they stayed late (btw I’m sorry) I purchased my dress, belt and cathedral veil.
Price: For a bride on a budget I wouldn’t recommend to come if you expect to pay less than $ 1500.00 again let’s not act stupid and expect to David bridal prices on the discount rack, the prices are on the higher side, however you pay for what you get.
Quality: Great, my veil nor dressed ripped, even through out all night that I dragged it, I had all lace dress tough little guy.
Customer service: Great, very attentive to details.

I recently started my dress search and was recommended to come to Janene’s bridal boutique by a friend who found her dress through them a few months prior. I called and made my reservation to come in on a specific date (9−12−15) to be exact. While on the phone they were very accommodating (which is where one of the stars came from) customer service over the phone was perfect and I felt excited and ready for my FIRST appointment. I informed the woman on the phone that I have a large wedding party of 9 bridesmaids as well as 3 moms and a grandma who would want to come being this was my first appointment. I know this was a big request and the woman on the phone stated I would be the last appointment of the day and it wouldn’t be an issue.
The day finally came and we were all ready to make our way to alameda, We arrived on time and the woman helping me was there and ready to go (my other star went to her and her customer service) She told me and my guest to shop around the store and pull off dresses from the shelve that we thought we liked. They have a wide variety of beautiful dresses in all different sizes. I didn’t find hem to be categorized much by designer but rather just an array of dresses that you got an arm workout trying to shuffle through. I finally had some dresses to try on. After trying on a few and not loving them I realized it was getting later but still had a couple more to go, I asked the woman helping me when they closed trying to be considerate of timing for them, All i was told was that I was the last appointment and not to worry. This must h=have not been the thought process of the other workers that evening as I walked out in a dress that I was in awe of and honestly thinking this could be the one, Tears came to my eyes looking at myself in this dress. in my excitement I turned and looked at the room next to me where there was a glass window looking in to find two women sitting in there with their purses in hand clearly ready to leave with the most unpleasant looks on their faces. I was so turned off by their demeanor that it took away from the moment I was in, I started feeling bad and rushed. One of the women walked out and actually started putting dresses away right where we were all talking, She would walk by the guest without any smile or gratitude and at some points without even an excuse me. Now I know these women do this a lllllll dayyyyyy longggg BUT I was ultimately a paying customer and when I am about to fork over $ 2,000 for one of your dresses I WOULD EXPECT A LIITLE MORE FROM YOU!!! I left their feeling upset and even had 3 bridesmaids as well as my mother and mother in law ask me if I got a rude vibe from them.
All in all, They had a wide array of dresses so it was a good pit stop in my search to get an idea of what I was looking for but the customer service was horrendous! It was their loss in the end as I was willing to pay up to $ 2000 on a dress, Buy 9 bridesmaids dresses, 9 grooms tux’s, 2 flower girl dresses, and 3 Mother of the bride and groom dresses! I ended up taking my business to BLOSSOMS in Dublin and I received much better care from their staff.

I just wanted to say hello because I have never met another Janene with the exact same spelling as I have.

I had been to every bridal boutique in the South and East Bay, and finally ended up at Janene’s. I loved their selection and their customer service — I was the only bride in the boutique during my appointment, and Danielle was a great consultant. They had a nice variety of designers from all ends of the spectrum, which was really nice. I ended up purchasing my dress from Janene’s — check them out on your bridal gown shopping journey!

UPDATE… Just got married and wore my dress!
Loved it and received so many compliments! The team at Janene’s was great. I had 5 alteration appts and the dress was great. Added straps to the original design to help hold it up throughout the night… best decision ever. If you are looking for your wedding dress, definitely check out Janene’s before purchasing elsewhere. I got my wedding dress here and I had a really nice experience. I picked dresses that I thought I liked until I tried them on. I realized that I didn’t know my body as much as I thought I did. With the help of my consultant, Kate, I was able to find one! When I tried on all the dresses that I picked (and did not like on me) I felt like giving up. I thought I was going to leave without a dress. Kate asked if I was ready for her to start pulling dresses. Low and behold, I fell in love with the second dress she put me in!
As far as the alterations, I met with Jennifer, who is also amazing. She really helped clarify any questions that I had with the process. The service was great but I just wish their alterations cost weren’t so high. I didn’t have time to go looking for another place so I ended up doing my alterations here. My dress was perfect for my special day and I am more than happy about the bustling that they did. It looked very natural and almost looked like the dress was made that way!

I didn’t buy my gown here but I wish I had! The price of my dress was actually cheaper here than at the place I bought it at in FL. I can not say enough good things about Janene’s alterations department.
I emailed about alterations because much to my dismay my dress didn’t fit. I made a rookie mistake of ordering my dress in the next size down thinking I was going to hit the gym hard and lose a few pounds. Well life happened and long story short my dress didn’t fit. TWO WEEKS OUT FROM WHEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO LEAVE FOR MY WEDDING.
I was panicking, freaking out, thinking I was going to have to buy a whole new dress because not all dresses can be let out. Jennifer the alterations manager assured me that they work miracles all the time and that they would make it fit.
They definitely made it fit, and lifted a big weight off of my shoulders. They worked fast, and efficiently and I am so happy and excited to wear my dress at my wedding now. They really know what they are doing. The dress seriously looks fabulous and you can’t even tell that it was let out besides that they added a corset back to it. I actually like the corset back better then just a regular zipper.
Yes alterations are pricier here, but they know that and let you know that. You are under no obligation to have your dress altered here. They let me know the price before hand and it didn’t change at all. Besides Jennifer is a perfectionist and we’ll make sure everything is perfect. She would make notes to fix things I hadn’t even noticed.

I’ve been married for a little over a month and I just wish it wasn’t over. My dress was perfect and the compliments were endless. Anyone who has seen a picture of me at my wedding are floored by how stunning it is. Too bad I can’t always wear it because I would.
My entire experience from choosing the dress all the way down to the day I picked it up was awesome! Each fitting was easy and fun; I never wanted to get out of my dress. Everyone has been so pleasant to work with and I’m so glad that my first and last fitting was with Heather. Oh and she even helped me pick my jewelry and found the beautiful belt!
My dress fits like a glove from the moment I tried it on the first time and without diets or working out, I still fit in it a few months later. All I needed was the hemming and bustling. I love that they let me keep the fabric from my dress because I got to use it to wrap around all the bouquets for me and my bridal party. I was able to dance & move around all day and the Incredible Hulk action figure which I made into a boutounniere stayed on the back of my dress the whole time!

Janene’s was the third bridal shop I visited, and I had a great experience shopping with them. Their selection is huge, so I’m glad I had already narrowed down the silhouette I wanted otherwise I might have been overwhelmed (seriously, it’s crazy how many dresses they fit in such a little shop).
Heather was super helpful with pulling dresses in my price range, and best of all she was completely non-​pushy. When I found «the dress», I actually teared up, but since it was at the top of my budget I wasn’t quite ready to pull the trigger that day. She was totally sweet and told me to think about it for a bit and call back if I wanted to set up another appointment. I went back the following weekend and purchased the dress, and used Janene’s for alterations as well. The alterations were SUPER expensive (as in several hundred dollars over the high guesstimate I had prepared myself for), but the dress did look perfect in the end!
I recommended that my colleague and colleague’s sister go to Janene’s when they were wedding dress shopping, and both found their dresses from here as well. If you’re looking for a large selection of dresses in a variety of price ranges, this is the place to go!

My experience was just amazing!!! The dresses are incredible and the customer service was untouchable!
I was helped by Jackie and she was trully amazing she made me feel so comfortable and she was not rushed at all she took her time with me and answer all questions i had! I was surprised when I came to learned that she was fairly new! She made the whole experience incredible I will definetly recommend my family and friends to this boutique when they get engaged! I had a wonderful experience at Janene’s Bridal from start to finish. There selection of gowns is amazing and they are all priced reasonably.
I found my gown on my first visit, the sales woman was determined to help me find the perfect gown and was a real asset helping us pull dresses for me to try on. I went with my mom and matron of honor and we had a private fitting room with seats for them and and a little pedestal for me to stand on when showing them the dresses. (The pedestal is more important than you might think. The dresses are all super long so it gives you a better idea of what it will look like.)
I also did my alterations here. Janene is like a sewing wizard. Every time I came in for fittings she would take one quick look, stick pins in seemingly arbitrarily, and then I’d come back and it was perfect! DON’T JUDGE THE ALTERATIONS UNTIL YOU SEE THE FINAL RESULT. I was thinking the dress wasn’t as flattering as when I first tried it on, but the staff just kept telling me to wait and I’d be happy with the end result. When I came in for my final fitting I was shocked at how perfect it fit me and how wonderful it made me look. The dress fit like a glove. I was comfortable all day and could easily sit and dance.
I am so so so happy I found Janene’s, they were wonderful.
